Daniel's prophecies tells you much about the Antichrist. The God of the Antichrist will be the God of Forces...How men worship force and power today. He will honor people with gold and silver and precious gems but only those that acknowledge him. Those who honor him will become rich indeed. They will receive glory and worldly honors. He will offer the nations a solution for all their troubles, and be accepted in society. He will upsurp authourity from the rightful rulers. There will be no buying or selling without the mark of the beast. He will come in peaceably and seize the kingdom by intrigue. He will lead many to apostasy and will oppose everything Christlike. He will be a man of sin and not desire women.

I have said it before, we need three things for the anti-christ. 1.one world government.2. One world money system. and 3 One world religion. Lately I have heard talk on the news about going to a one world money system and also about creating a one world government. This may not happen till after the rapture but things can be set in place before then. The anti-christ will not come to power till after the rapture. Unless you want to concider Obama the anti-christ. He is just geting things ready for the anti-christ.

Timothy, you are right on! I am grateful that my Baptist church has an equal number of black and white members, and some Asians too. God bless!
---JohnnyB on 3/20/09|
StevenG, just read it for yourself. It is interesting that Augustine warned people not to read Revelation literally, Luther thought it contradicted Jesus' teaching, and it was the one book in the NT that Calvin refused to write a commentary on. So we can let it go at that. God bless you!
---JohnnyB on 3/20/09|
The anti Christ is also rising up in the church, slowly leading folks astray. The devil is not wearing horns and a red suit. Sometimes he's in the form of jealousy, hatred, prejudice, bigotry and greed.
The sad part about it is a lot of people profess Christianity still possess these qualities and are not seeking deliverance on them.
Why is Sunday morning still probably THE most segregated day of the week...why is Christian people catering to their own kind....or their own kind first?
Why do you see the majority of white people on a site like this (If you go to the social section of this site, you will mainly see white people) and a majority of black people or other Christian sites?

JohnnyB: "StevenG, It was written only to encourage Christians in the first century being persecuted by Rome. The author was filled with hatred and envy towards Rome and wanted revenge. And he had a very vivid imagination! "
Where did you ever get an idea like that? Don't tell me. You heard it from someone you admired and it made sense to you. That "someone" is from a denominational "church." Also, you don't understand it so you think what is written cannot be so. It's not written like the other books of the bible. The book transcends time. Could you describe events in the year 4009? The people in 4009 would also think you a fool.
Besides, God's people are not filled with hatred, revenge and envy.
---Steveng on 3/17/09|
Bobby3, okay. Sorry. God bless.
---JohnnyB on 3/16/09|
JohnnyB: "Bobby3, I'll stick to my view and you stick to yours."
I was basically agreeing with you. Was there something written that suggested otherwise?
---Bobby3 on 3/16/09|
StevenG, Revelation is not describing modern weapons. It was written only to encourage Christians in the first century being persecuted by Rome. The author was (unlike Jesus or Paul) filled with hatred and envy towards Rome and wanted revenge. And he had a very vivid imagination! God bless you. Have a good week!
---JohnnyB on 3/16/09|
Bobby3, I'll stick to my view and you stick to yours. No problem. It has been said that Revelation is a kind of petri dish for the breeding of dangerous religious eccentricity. I agree. God bless and have a good weekend.
---JohnnyB on 3/13/09|
JohnnyB: "StevenG, if monsters with ten heads and seven horns are not metaphors, I don't know what is."
Think. John recorded everything he saw. How would you describe today's events using using the language John knew 2,000 years ago? It's impossible because you are too educated. If you were hovering ten miles above the ground, describe a war. How would you describe a helicoptor? A computer? A car? How would a four year old describe a war from above, a computer, a car, a helicopter?
Unfortunately, most will only recognize the events in Revelation only after they've occured. That's why we have prophets - to interpret current events before or as they are happening.
---Steveng on 3/13/09|
JohnnyB: "The Book of Revelation is an allegory, full of metaphor."
Revelation tells of literal events that were to take place, but it does so using (as you say) metaphor and other figurative language. In other words, the events described are literal events, but the ways in which they are described are non-literal. A common example of this would be when someone says his/her heart has been broken. It is a figurative way (for the 'heart' does not literally 'break') of describing an actual event (namely some sort of emotionally painful ordeal). The key to understanding Revelation (which I will readily admit I haven't mastered) is knowledge of the way the Bible, particularly the OT, uses figurative language.
---Bobby3 on 3/13/09|
I John says that there are many antichrists and there will be many more to come. Many are walking our streets today. Others are in charge of goverments and trying to destroy Christianity.
In the 1800's the RCC Jesuit Ribera stated the Antichrist would be a single human possed by Satan in the future. YOu see the RCC was having a problem with Protestants. No matter how many they murdered they kept growing. Those nasty protestants kept saying the Pope was acting as an anitchrist.
So to show the Protestant wrong they came up with this new theory.
---Samuel on 3/13/09|
StevenG, if monsters with ten heads and seven horns are not metaphors, I don't know what is. The early Church included Revelation in the canon with reservations. The Church Fathers read it as allegory. Modern fundamentalist interpretations are just plain wacky. But it is okay with me if you disagree. That's what these blogs are for. God bless you, and have a pleasant weekend! :-)

1 John 2:18: "Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists, whereby we know that it is the last time.
19: They went out from us, but they were not of us, for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us."
1 John 4:3: "And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come, and even now already is it in the world."

JohnnyB, Revelation contains the Warnings of GOD's Great Judgments against this rebellious Planet, including America (Rev. 18). The Cleansing of GOD's Church right before the return of YAHUSHUA (JESUS). The extreme Persecution and Martyrdom of GOD's People. The Warnings about the Anti-Christ, the false "Jesus" and his false Prophet. The Return of YAHUSHUA (JESUS) to the Earth. The imprisonment of Satan for 1,000 years, during the Reign of YAHUSHUA on Earth. The Final Judgment of all of mankind before the Throne of GOD. The Devil, the Anti-Christ, the False Prophet, the fallen angels and demons, and the rebellious of mankind ALL cast alive into the Lake of Fire. And, the fruition of the promised Mansions of Heaven for the Redeemed!
---Gordon on 3/13/09|
JohnnyB: "The Book of Revelation is an allegory, full of metaphor."
On the contrary, Revelation is literal. You just don't understand it. John describe what he saw using the language he knew at the time. If you had to describe the world in the year 4,009 (that's four thousand nine), the people 2,000 years from now who read your description would think of your writings as allegory, full of metaphors. Think about it.
JohnnyB: "It is not the most important book in the NT. God bless."
The whole Bible, the Word of God, is important. If it were not so, then God would not have it written.
---Steveng on 3/12/09|
The Book of Revelation is an allegory, full of metaphor. It is not the most important book in the NT. God bless.

Nana: "I believe the False Prophet of Revelation is the collective of false prophets. The same with antiChrist."
It doesn't matter what YOU believe, it's what the Bible says. Revelation specifically says TWO witnesses/prophets. Even a child can understand what it says. The two prophets are to be treated like all the other prophets in the Bible. Even Christian will treat them badly because they don't conform to their own denominational "church's" doctrines.
As for the antiChrist, the antiChrist is A man, not many men. The OT prophets even describe this person.
---Steveng on 3/11/09|
Matthew 24:24: "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect."
I believe the False Prophet of Revelation is the collective of false prophets. The same with antiChrist.
---Nana on 3/11/09|
There are many anti-christs already in the world, as has been stated. Revelation, and other prophecies speak of a Great Anti-Christ, The "Beast" who is much more powerful than present antichrist. The Beast is accompained by a False Prophet, another anti-christ.
While their goal is spiritual control of the world, they use secular power to enforce it. One of the things they use is economic, according to Revelation 13:17.
The depression brings us closer to his attaining that power. Whether it will enable him to reach his full power remains to be seen.
---Don on 3/10/09|
Rhonda, "Anti" ALSO means "in place of". The Anti-Christ will be the false "messiah", who will be in place of the True Messiah. In place of, that is, for the AC's followers. The Anti-Christ may be very much like the True Messiah, in some ways, enough to fool the masses.

Then makes an astounding recovery that brings those to worship him.
---dewaine on 3/9/09|
The Antichrist was in power when Jesus was here . You are either for Christ or Anti- Christ.
1 John 2:18-19 Little children, it is the last time: and as you have heard that (antichrist) shall come, even now are there many (antichrists,) by which we know that it is the last time. (They went out from us,) but they were not (of us,) for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be (made manifest) that they were not all of us.
The antichrist killed Jesus
Ye are of your father the devil, and the
lusts of your father ye will do.
John 8:40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.

antichrist means opponent of messiah ...AGAINST christ
ANY doctrine idea attitude persons against Christ NOT JUST person ...John says MANY existing then growing worse through time until Gods Kingdom on Earth Matt 6:13
antichrist found in 4 Scriptures John 1, John 2:18,22,4:3, 2John 7
FALSE ministers TEACHING AGAINST Christ about ANOTHER Christ 2Corin 11:4, 13-15, Gal 1:6-9, Acts 20:28-31
many today already blindly follow these ministers Titus 1:16, Rev 12:9
not one event will bring existing beast system to power ...final FALSE prophet within this system leads world to worship beast deception so DEEP they will FIGHT AGAINST Christ at his RETURN 2Thes. 2:3, Rev. 16:13, 19:20, Rev 16:9,13-16, 17:13-14

Mod, The Global financial collapse is totally "secular" in nature.
On the other hand antichrist is totally "religious" preying on the "spiritual" part of man, in hopes of alienating Christians away from God! IMHO
---1st_cliff on 3/7/09|
Well, in answer to this question, anything is possible. I personally believe that the second coming of Jesus is very near so that will require the rise of the antichrist. It will be interesting to watch how the events unfold.

The antichrist is a chimera.
---JohnnyB on 3/7/09|
I meet dozens of Christians every week. Many of them are going into a panic mode of living.
Do not fear.
Go on with your daily lives. Do not worry about what tomorrow will bring or how the anti-christ will appear. If you are not sure what your daily life should be, do an online bible search for "one another," "each other," and encourag." Meet daily with other Christians. Pray daily that God will protect you, your family and your friends during the coming tribulation. Put on the full armor of God. Whatever happens, will happen.
And, above all, keep God the Father number one.

Joseph states ,increasingly colder.I agree.
Jesus speaks of a springtime coming and to recognize it by the budding branches but before this there is a long cold winter .
John writes that anti christ was present when he was alive.
The many sciences and the long awaited return of jesus is bringing a ever anticipated yet forecasted to us decline in belief. Many heads are turning away in favor of materialism-something one can see.

According to Rev 13:16-17, there will be a degree of global economic disaster to make everyone desperate for a leader to come forward with "the answer". This man...the antichrist will come upon the scene as one who is silver tongued and loaded with very deceptive wisdom. Buyers and sellers are paralyzed until they are willing to recieve the mark of the beast. I personally feel we are in the beginnings of the stage being prepared for his entrance. It pays to always be ready because the Church will be raptured prior to the antichrist being revealed. I love you all and look for HIS soon call for us to be released from the hold of gravity and meet together in the air..."and so shall we ever be with the Lord"!!!!!

I know God is no respecter of nations so I try not to be attached to mine. In 2006 I met an Ethopian cab driver in Denver CO. He had a book in his car about Calgary and so I asked what he thought about Jesus. He said Jesus saved his life. He was laying sick and dieing on floor in his country with lice in his hair and starving and a Christian woman rescued him. Next Jesus sent him a wise advisor that kept encouraging him to ask questions directly of Jesus. Somehow he found his way to America and now drives a cab. He says his cab is his church. He says his friends thank God for America and that the freedom here came from the mind of God. He says his friends pray every day for blessings and healings on this country.

The most important thing to many people across the Globe, ESPECIALLY in America, is the Economy. People who know not GOD, have their security in money. That's their Provider for daily living. So, when their security crumbles, they need SOMEONE to save them and restore their monetary security blanket. Since this economic disaster is GLOBAL, the world is ready for one "man with a plan". That would be the false "Jesus". The Jewish people of the New Testament were waiting for a Messiah who would rescue them from the Roman government's rulership. They didn't understand their real need for Soul-Salvation. Likewise today. The people want their prosperous life-style restored. Not concerned with where their souls will spend Eternity.
---Gordon on 3/6/09|
Do you actually think that God's timetable needs something as ephemeral as an economic depression to allow the rise of the Antichrist?
---katavasia on 3/6/09|
It could. The wicked man is more confident than I am. Must depend on God.
---catherine on 3/6/09|
"Will the depression bring the Anti-Christ into power?" No.
It will be a lack of faith in God and a love that grows increasingly colder.
---joseph on 3/6/09|
No. The only thing that will bring the "Anti-Christ" to power is that his time has arrived (2Th 2:6)... which is firmly within the control of God.
Of course, the rebuilding of the Temple needs to be at least at hand: and I'm pretty sure the war (6th trumpet) starting at the Euphrates, which kills 1/3 of mankind, has to occur before (or about the same time - it might already have started, but it sure ain't finished because we'll know for sure when it happens.) But, these events are also firmly within the control of God.
This is not to say any "depression" can't be part of it: just that it, in and of itself, won't bring him to power.
---BruceB on 3/5/09|
No, the President of the United States will if he keeps going at the rate he is.

I can see ahead much of what Mima sees. I'm not sure who or where the antichrist will be, but economically we are headed for a fate similar to Germany's prior to WWII. They suffered unbelievable hyper-inflation.
Our government has obligated us for trillions of dollars. But we don't know where the money is going to come from. The treasury will simply print more money to cover much of it. Since this money is backed by nothing, the value of a dollar drops accordingly...it takes ever more dollars to purchase anything.
Seeing no way out of the situation, people will vote for anybody who promises relief. Were it not for this inflation Hitler might not have been elected.
---Donna66 on 3/5/09|
Part #2 what will take place worldwide something is very similar to what took place in Germany, thereby causing the rise of Adolf Hitler to power. It is good to remember that Hitler was elected in a democratic election after which he declared himself dictator for life.
It is my belief that the engine of doom is running downhill, wide open and gaining speed all the time. My wife has always been under the belief that she would go in the rapture and not face physical death. Strange as such a belief might have seemed 10 years ago it is today a high probability.
---mima on 3/5/09|
Will the depression bring the Antichrist into power? I have this to say about that. If we are as close to tumultuous times as I think we are something similar to the following will take place. First you have economic failure, government handouts, soup kitchens, private property sold at public auctions the likes of which have not been seen since the Great Depression I believe the coming scenario will outdo the Great Depression.
Faced with this turn of events public rioting and mob mentality will take over and so there will emerge from the shadows of power certain individuals who are what we commonly referr to as the hard right. These are always law and order people. To be continued------
