Hi, personally I absolutely agree with Carla, it is and should be GOD who judges, not us. And there are times when abortion is the better idea--but not often.
---Mary on 4/7/09|
I watched a dreadful documentary on abortion If it was shown in your Country you would have had a far different opinion on abortion of any kind, I don't want to shock but research the subject and if your stomache can take it after seeing such dreadful images talk to me again!
If I had a mansion I'd turn it into a place where every victim of rape, abuse, unwanted child, the mothers could stay without cost and allow the babies the chance of life and I would love and care for each and everyone of them.
I wish they would leave them on my door step!
---Carla3939 on 4/7/09|
I don't understand.
In all cases the person that might be, whether conceived by rape or unprotected lust is still a person that might be. If an abortion stops that person from ever being, how can you in some cases say it is murder, and because of circumstances in others, say it is not.
Is it murder with the morning after pill, a few hours after conception? Is this the same as an abortion within a few weeks of full term of a viable, outside of the womb baby, (even if conception was the result of incestual rape)?
How do you make that distinction? Who makes it? Are doctors and nurses to be put in jail because of they fail to draw the right line?
---atheist on 4/7/09|
depends on the circumstances if someone is forced No. Only God knows the heart but every NURSE /GP/idle woman that uses the service for birth control Yes!
---Carla3939 on 4/6/09|
So should women who have abortions, and the doctors who perform them be tried for murder or not?
---atheist on 4/2/09|
Your arguing a point so to allow you the opportunity to criticise God and justice but you are Poor Lost naked and wretched, You cannot make one stand of your hair go white nor indeed know how many hairs are on your head, can you explain how the sweetness gets into a orange or the bitterness get into a lemon?. NO but God knows, man can only judge what evidence is in front of Him but God knows the heart it is not as clean cut as you want to make it so you can argue your point on punishment and justification.
Murder is murder God will judge!
---Carla3939 on 4/1/09|
Atheist, somewhat. My God will hold everyone, Christians and nonchristians alike, for their behavior. But with justice, for correction, not reprisal. There will be a hell, but it won't be permanent.
---JohnnyB on 4/1/09|
Let me make a guess. The 'god' you believe in is forgiving, gives you strength, and doesn't have a 'hell'. Right?
---atheist on 3/31/09|
Atheist, to many Christians, even more dangerous than abortion is heresy, which sends people to the tortures of hell forever. To be absolutely consistent, they should advocate capital punishment for heresy as well as abortion. God bless you!
---JohnnyB on 3/31/09|
Natalie: Abortion is mentioned in the Bible.
---sue on 3/31/09|
That is the same question I asked below. I don't see how one can rationalize the idea that 'abortion is murder' and not agitate for not only the punishment of the woman, but also anyone who helped in any manner, including anyone offering encouragement to do so, even just by saying that they thought abortion in a certain circumstances that it was not murder.
All such participants would be engaged in a conspiracy to commit murder, would they not? If this act is truly criminal then it should be treated as a criminal act. If it is a crimnal act then how can any exceptions be drawn?
---atheist on 3/30/09|
Natalie, if abortion is murder as you assert, should not then women who procure them be prosecuted and sentenced to death or life imprisonment like any other murderer? Just curious.... God bless you.
---JohnnyB on 3/30/09|
Abortion is abortion. Abortion is not murder. It has never been prosecuted as murder in any civilization or legal system. It has never been called murder in scripture.---JohnnyB on 3/26/09
Abortion isn't in Scripture.
But, what is in Scripture is if someone is living and they are no longer living due to actions from another. THAT IS MURDER.
Abortion it stoping a living baby from living.
Trust me, if you take the action of the other person away, the abortion would not occur and the baby will be out of the womb living.
---Natalie2 on 3/28/09|
I have no idea what you mean when you are saying that I am going straight in for the kill...
My question is simple. If abortion is murder, then what should the real world punishment be for the crime?
---atheist on 3/28/09|
You are going straight in for the kill so to speak God offers repentance for all sins including murder It don't matter what you do except the unpardonable son of course there is true repentance for those that ASK and for all other situations we do not have to power to decided since there is no (Solomon) The once wise king to judge for us so we have to leave what we cannot judge as Christians to the creator for all things will be Judge by/through Him no stone will be left unturned.
Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
---Carla3939 on 3/26/09|
Abortion is abortion. Abortion is not murder. It has never been prosecuted as murder in any civilization or legal system. It has never been called murder in scripture. It may in some jurisdictions be criminal, but it is not and never has been murder. God bless!
---JohnnyB on 3/26/09|
Probably they do say what gos around comes around!
---Carla3939 on 3/25/09|
Carla and All,
The example of the 9 year old girl below is real. Things like this happen.
With a belief system that says all abortions are murder, then there must be consequences, in the real world, for abortions no matter what the reason or rational for having, encouraging or performing abortions.
You cannot claim an act to be murder and not demand that not only the act be prevented in all cases, but the perpetrators and participates be punished accordinging. If you fail to do so, then you are demonstrating that your words are only rhetoric.
If this is truly your belief, should not all involved in an abortion, (co-consiprators in murder) be arrested, tried, imprisoned, and possibly executed for the crime of murder?
---atheist on 3/25/09|
Melissa, we both agree that abortion is a sin and murder, but isn't what your saying kind of harsh?.
yes giving your life to save another would be very brave but unless we have walked in the shoes of that person faced with such a decision isn't that pretty judgemental?. could you in all honesty say that if that was your daugther laying there and the doc comes in and says by all medical opinion either your daugther terminates the pregnancy or dies that you would without hesitation say let my daughter die?. It does not mean we don't trust God but he did gives these doctors the knowledge and God does tell us not to put him to foolish test.
---stephanie on 3/24/09|
The bible said ye shall not murder, a MURDERER IS SUCH UNTIL REPENTANCE it that okay'
Oh you don't believe that there is a God so I guess it is just YOUR opinion well that don't count.
What communion has light with darkness?
because anyone can kill because there is no judgment according to your belief so there is no real punishment most people I know that has been to prison lately said they have become accustomed to it and find more stability in prison than in society.
---Carla3939 on 3/24/09|
Ok well I will agree with everyone else abortion is murder although I did not have this view on it all my life. I had an abortion before I knew the Lord and before I had faith in the Lord. If I had it to do all over again then I would gladly have had that baby and put all my trust in the Lord, for I too murdered a child. It is not something that I am proud of but I can say it is something that I have had to live with, but overcome due to I have not dealt with it on my own. God has helped me through it. I do not judge against anyone that does it due to that would make me a hypocrite. Although I do not permit it due to it should be illegal and it is murder.
---Jennifer on 3/24/09|
And we have the nerve to ask God to bless sin! If abortions became Illegal in America, and stayed illegal in America, and if this nation would bring back God's Ten Commandments, and prayers into every schools, then God would lift His great judgment off this nation, called America.
---catherine on 3/24/09|
About 2 months ago I strongly advised someone NOT to have an abortion, that it was murder and that God said, Thou shall not kill.
He said it didn't have a heartbeat, she was only 2 months along, and I argued with him until the cows came home and he made his daughter have an abortion.
I got a phone call yesterday and this man lost his job, hurt his back, is now not sure how he will pay his bills..he's desolate of his heath and money. Do you think this has anything to do with murdering an unborn fetus?
---donna8365 on 3/24/09|
A 9-year-old girl who was carrying twins, and whose stepfather is suspected of raping her, underwent an abortion despite complaints from Brazil's Roman Catholic Church.
Was this murder?
Show the mother be tried for murder?
Should the doctors be tried for murder?
Should the judge, who made an exception to Brazil's no legal abortion laws, be tried for murder?
---atheist on 3/24/09|
Leon, Well said!
---Gordon on 3/24/09|
yes i also agree with everyone abortions are killing somebody born or unborn god would not allow that if he was still alive.
---Jessica_Roper on 3/23/09|
abortion being okay for mothers who could die, is like saying because children are a financial burden it's okay not to feed them. just saying it out loud sounds ridiculous
Sacrifice! Where does it say in the bible thou shall not kill....unless....
it doesn't! it does mention However that ALL life is precious and to take it further Jesus mentions children as being most important.
So a mother who kills a child fearfully and i believe selfishly. without faith in God will have to answer for it. Dying while saving another life is courageous, killing someone to save yourself is not. i hope a mother in a situation as this should not take another life into her own hands but trust God to do his will.
---melissa on 3/23/09|
There are Bible claiming people who say an unborn is a human being but it's Ok to kill the child in order to save the mother's life. If it's Ok to kill an unborn who is a human, then isn't it also Ok to kill the mother in order to save the unborn? What if the mother loves her child and desires to lay down her life for her child? If you do a c-section to save the child, this does NOT *directly* kill the mother, and God can decide if He keeps her. But by killing the child in order to "save" her, you have killed directly.
---Bill_bila5659 on 3/23/09|
I had one..was told it was much cheaper than having a procedure done via a hospital due to a complicated pregnancy with a fetus that may not have been developping properly and i had no insurance.some times we make choices that seem to make sense at the time but in hindsight we know it was not right.I stayed awake even the the guy doing it advised against it...I wanted to punish myself for having it done.I have never been the same since it.
---Christine on 3/23/09|
Hi, very interesting point Bill, that's kind of the way I feel but you put it so well :)
---Mary on 3/23/09|
Yes. Abortion is murder.
---BettyW on 3/22/09|
Yes, God views abortion as murder & "IS" therefore illegal. But, lawless people will continue to abort innocent lives (Pv 6:17) until such time as the Lord stops their wickedness.
---Leon on 3/21/09|
Yes they should be illegal in all states and countries.....
If people don't want children then they need to use precautions.
some big forms of Murder
There is such a thing as a morning after pill that a woman can use.
Straight forward 1st degree Murder
if unmarried people don't want children, then they should just keep their belongings in their pants.
---Rebecca_D on 3/20/09
So too Adulterers
---Carla3939 on 3/21/09|
Why not stop the source? Bogus marriage pronouncements witch end in divorcing, murdering the souls of kids, in the process. That's not just taking a life, but butchering a child so he or she does not know how to love. And this abortion of love is more damaging than abortion of just human life. So, why is this not being dealt with, at least as strongly as medical abortion? Hold ministers liable for who they pronounce and if they are ready to show children how to love. Children of these divorces are getting the message > if you can abort them from love, by means of your terrible example, then it's Ok to terminate a pregnancy . . . if it's Ok for you to terminate an agreement to love. They have gotten the message.
---Bill_bila5659 on 3/20/09|
Even the late conservative Christian radio preacher J. Vernon McGee said that it is okay for rape victims to have abortions. Better legal abortions than back-room abortions. God bless.
---JohnnyB on 3/20/09|
Yes they should be illegal in all states and countries. These children do not ask to be born into this world. I hate the fact that people have abortions just because they got news from their doctor that their baby will have some sort of defectiveness. If I had the money and a bigger house I would adopt as many children as I could. If people don't want children then they need to use precautions. There is such a thing as a morning after pill that a woman can use. To be truthful, if unmarried people don't want children, then they should just keep their belongings in their pants.
---Rebecca_D on 3/20/09|
Yes! God said, Thou Shall not kill. That should settle it for women who are thinking of having one. It's murder and murder is a crime, isn't it?
---donna8365 on 3/20/09|
Is it illegal to murder another human being? YES! Abortion should definitely be made illegal. Abortion is one of the reasons GOD is bringing Judgment to this country. America should know better, that this country is founded on the principles of "Liberty and Justice" for all men. So, where are the aborted american babies rights to live in freedom and have justice??
---Gordon on 3/20/09|
Yes, with the exception of those that medically, seriously treated the life of the mother. I believe that those should be at the discretion of the mother.
---joseph on 3/20/09|
Murder is murder except in the case where a mother has the worse case scenario to decide between life and death. Only God can judge!
---Carla3939 on 3/20/09|
I am not saying I am right or wrong, this is just my opinion.
I believe all abortion should be illegal except if the mother would die if she did not abort. my heart and prayers go out to any woman or family who would have to make that decision.
---stephanie on 3/20/09|
To Whosoever has an ear to hear?
This question can ethically be reason out indefinitely but if you believe that thou shall not kill, then morally no abortions should be legal.
---Shawn_M.T. on 3/19/09|
No, all abortions should not be illegal. mho.
---sue on 3/19/09|
One might argue that it should be illegal except in the case of the life of the mother, rape, or incest. This is the rationale raised once upon a time.
However, statistics and studies show these causes account for less that 3% of induced abortions.
A study of 3000 rape cases reported in Denver (I believe that was the city, I may be mistaken) in the 80's showed that NONE of these reported rapes resulted in pregnancy.
What good does it do to perform an abortion on a victim of rape or incest--and do nothing about the perpetrator?
And this doesn't even deal with the issue of the charge is true.
