Obviously all your points are true.
I was only trying to point out that many people have, at some point in their life, either at the beginning of their faith, or at times of great difficulty, troubles
I did not state that as an excuse.
I only wanted to point out that it happens to some
---Peter on 12/8/13|
Cluny your persistent, passionate scepticism about God's word means you are the one who is frozen in disbelief.
I believe all of God's word which to some makes me rigid or maybe narrow. However of "narrow" Matthew 7:13 says "Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many." This Scripture speaks of you as you distort God's word to make it fit with antiBiblical beliefs.

Kathr, you talk too much rubbish. Making something out of nothing. God does not listen to the unsaved. He communicates to believers through our Mediator who is Jesus Christ. He is our Advocate.
"But your iniquities have separated you from your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear" (Isaiah 59:2).
and in the New Testament:
"Now we know that God does not hear sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him" (John 9:31).
God is sovereign and can do whatsoever He pleases, and it pleases Him not to listen to those who are without Christ.

God helps whosoever. Richard his word works if you understand how to use it. Jesus taught use in the first parable how the word works. MATTHEW 13, MARK 4, and, LUKE 8 This is the only way it works. What a man sows that is what he will reap. You sow the Gospel you will reap the Gospel. If you sow judgment you will reap judgment. Sowing the Gospel not judging people let the word do that you just sow the Gospel. This is part of our covenant from God what a man sows that is what he will reap.
---BRYAN on 12/8/13|
Proofing God exists. What every you sow you will reap. Sow lies reap lies. Sow to your flesh reap death, look around you at the people who sow to their flesh. Then look at the one who sow to to the spirit, what do they reap?

No one born again would ever ask proof that God exists.....under ANY circumstances.
Sorry, but the devil is in the details, and the details are in the question.
I'm surprised Markv answered as he did. Shouldn't you have said, perhaps Richard was not one of the elect. Don't you insist God only hears the prayers of the elect. And of coarse the elect would never question the existence much less the Sovereignty of God not to answer his prayers If God chose not to answer, would he Markv ?

Did anyone here answering ever stop to think that maybe when Richard posted the blog he might have had a great loss in his life, and his faith in God was not there at the moment He needed God the most? Who hasn't lost a love one, and you found yourself begging God to answer your prayer and none came your way? It could be also that Richard was speaking for someone else when he posted the blog, and all he wanted to hear was the opinions of many others? Before judging him, take into consideration what the circumstance might have been when he posted in 2009.
---Mark_V. on 12/8/13|
To Richard who wrote the opening post.

Richard: You remind me of an ungrateful child complaining to his parent "Give me what I want to prove you love me." Proof of God's existence is all around you - as Warwick has suggested. But every Christian should KNOW - not just believe - that God exists in their heart. You obviously have a problem. I think that you should begin by examining yourself rather than God.
---jerry6593 on 12/7/13|
In MERE CHRISTIANITY, C. S. Lewis uses the argument from morality to prove God exists.
Thomas Aquinas has used others.

Shira, you wrote "God exist because He sent His Son to die for my sin." I have no doubt you know this however this is personal faith and does not constitute the "proof" Richard asks for as proof is something which can be demonstrated. For example that the boiling point of water is 100c is not belief but something which can easily be physically proved, beyond doubt. Romans 1:20 says Creation is absolute physical proof of God's existence to the point that man is "without excuse." God considers His creation to be absolute proof of His existence.
Such proof, God says, is beyond our feelings and beliefs, no matter how strongly felt.

We do not know what help Richard needs when he says 'He is not helping me.'
Many people feel they are not helped by God, it is not that rare.
I have had that emotion myself on occasion, and I have had to force myself to remember that God DOES exist, and anything in my emotions that make me feel different..... is a mistake in my emotions.
But some people, after a long time of feeling that way, give up on persuading themselves

when we study scripture, we know God is the only one who could put a book together like the bible. it is so intertwined even minute details. even numbers mean something. names mean something. no man could ever put together something like God's Word. if man had done it, there would be contradictions everywhere. I know God exist because He sent His Son to die for my sin.

Josef, what you said is so true. If believers studied the Nature, Character and Attributes of God they would look at things much different. As the giver and taker of life, He could do away with sin any time He wanted. He could stop any murderer from taking their next breath. Nothing stops Him from doing what pleases Him. He has determined when there will be no sin, and time has not come yet.
If Believers knew the real God of Scripture, they would not be preaching so many false teachings. Again what you said is very true. Just taking a breath proves there is a God, as written down in Scripture, Thanks for reminding everyone of the God we have.

First there are two main theories on how the world came about. One it is a series of accidents that brought order and complexity in a perfect synchronicity which enables this universe to exist and us to be alive.
The other is that there is a designer who built this system.
The Bible speaks of foretelling future events and does so.
The Bible gave rules of health that were not found by men until the 1900's.
The Bible shows the way to a truly happy fulfilled life.

Richard, so you think God is YOUR SERVANT. Boy, that's a new error. Maybe not so new. Try serving God and see what happens. Maybe you are out of favour with God and He is calling you to forsake sin, or idol worship or something. He is trying to get your attention. Read the Word of God, seek the face of the Lord and see if there is anything you can do for Him. Then things may change.

Why do you think you're here? And this beautiful world, along with all the beautiful people on it? Including the good the bad and the ugly? All of it? God made all of this. Just as much as the good is his creation, so is the bad. So while you go through bad times, remember, this is also god's creation.
And remember this:
God helps no one who does not help themselves first. God does not help you because you do not help yourself. Not only do you not believe in God, but you do not believe in yourself. God starts with yourself. And, believe it or not ends there too. You look for proof to believe in God while I say to you you cannot see the proof of god until you believe.

"God resists the proud", we have in James 4:6 and also in 1 Peter 5:5. Whenever He knows I'm acting in pride, He resists me so I don't get in the trouble that I could. His caring resistance has helped me, by messing with my selfish stuff so then I'd react by getting nasty etc. and this could expose how I was not doing things with God in His peace and leading. So, His resistance has helped me a lot. He *is* helping you, by resisting you in your pride so you don't get in as much trouble as you could. It would be better to trust Him to make you able to submit to Him and share with Him and enjoy sharing in what He would like to do with you.

Our origins, either from God's creative acts, or naturalistic evolution being past events, cannot therefore be proved.
So let us consider what is before us. I believe in Jesus, Creator and Redeemer, definitely by faith, but not blind faith. See Romans 1:20 where God says He is obvious by what has been made- 'so that men are without excuse.'
That is the uniqueness of our God, that He alone is Creator.
Those who deny God propose various forms of evolution but this cannot be in anyway 'proved.' In reality the evolutionary view/s fall apart when analysed.
This incredibly complex, and ordered world gives every evidence of being the product of super intelligence, and power- the attributes of our God. See Jeremiah 32:27.

Richard, You've been influenced by these pseudo-Christians that distort the 23rd psalm to read "the Lord is my SERVANT I shall not want..."
It's spring, look around you at nature comming to life..and ask "who's responsible " Nobody??? It just happens??
You don't need to be a Rhodes scholar to conclude that it is not an accident.
EX Nihilo Nihil Fit..(out of nothing nothing comes)
There HAS to be a Creator...right?

You are simply disappointed that God won't be your personal "genie". How could you be disappointed in someone that you doubt EXISTS?.
"whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists...".
The first step for you to take is that you must believe THAT HE EXISTS (makes sense, doesn't it?).
THEN, you are going to have to want to "DRAW NEAR" (because you LOVE HIM).
Your reasoning destroys itself because you want Him only for personal gain (so that you can "COMMAND" Him). This is why people can see/understand only "COMMANDS" in their devotion (POETIC JUSTICE, they want "COMMANDS").

We can't see air, but we know it's there because our lungs draw it in a million times a day. God is all around us and be with us if we ask Him to be a part of our lives. As a child who throws a tantrum when a parent does not fix a toy as rapidly as the child might want, is like us saying "Help God" but then not having the patience to let God do anything. Instead we take it back and try to solve things under our own will. God answers all of us in His time, not ours. We must learn practice of patience, and to be able to accept that we will not get everything we want. Does this mean God is ignoring us? No. It means that we need to surrender our will over to God and let Him guide us through the bad times and good also.

God helps those who helps themselves. (no that verse isn't in the bible but examples) He isn't helping you because you refuse to see his help. How many people came to you to see if you need help? If it is just one person, that is God helping you. With an attitude like what you have, God may delay on helping you. He will help you, but it will be in his time, not yours.
