So true Tom2! Did you read the question about penguin poop and whether its biblical or not? Oy Vey!
---NV_Barbara on 6/8/09

I just wanted to add to cliff's post - you are correct, women over 35, childbearing and higher risk of producing a child with Down's Syndrome -
What I would like to add that many people don't realize is that Down's Syndrome can also be caused by an older father. People think that older men can still sire children without issue while that is not true. Old man's swimmers aren't always the best quality and do run the risk of producing a Down's Syndrome child.

Personally, I think I will celebrate menopause! I will invite girlfriends over and burn a pad in a tin bucket and kiss those days goodbye lol :D

Leon, You jumped all over me for miss spelling Genn,Gesn,genie,...the 1st book of Moses!
Now we're even.. to err is hewman!
---1st_cliff on 6/5/09

You're absolutely right Cliff! You've discovered that I also have the quite common hueman disorder known as typoflaws. :)

Certainly, METALpause (tinman syndrome) isn't the same as MENTALpause (hueman sindrome: disability, infirmity, affliction, disease).
---Leon on 6/5/09

Leon, I think METALpause applies to robots.huh?
---1st_cliff on 6/4/09

Barbara: Aaaaa, I don't remember! Do you have a question? :D

My pc froze up (grid locked) today. I think we may be related. It happens 2-3 times a week, much like when I'm having a periodic senior moment (metalpause). My brother calls the experience a stinkin' brain -- sounds like smart. Excuse me! :)
---Leon on 6/4/09

Menopause, once it is past, is a blessing!
Post-menopausal women everywhere will agree to this.
---Donna66 on 6/3/09

NO no no, mentalpause,is like, umm,, well you know, brain cramp??

Menopause is ..Yoo hoo free at last, free at last!
---1st_cliff on 6/3/09

Leon, is 'mentalpause' the same as having a 'senior moment'?

Did I already ask that?? <-:)
---NV_Barbara on 6/3/09

p.s. Mentalpause (as well as menopause) is definitely due to the fall of man.
---Leon on 6/3/09

"Do I have to Leon??"

No Ma'am, absolutely not. I don't, so go for it! J/K :)

I think Cliff thought you were talking about mentalpause, a condition he "experiences" periodically. Just kidding Cliff -- don't get your hackles up! :)

Nope Tom2, some of the questions are really unanswerable as far as knowing the mind of God.

As far as medical questions, they're best asked of a doctor, or at the very least looked up on a doctor's Q and A site.

Signs that you're experiencing menopause:

You sell your home heating system at a yard sale. (Hot flashes)
You find Guacamole in your hair after a Mexican dinner. (Fatigue)
Your husband complains about snow piling up on the bed. (Nightsweats)
You write post-it notes with your kid's names on them. (Memory loss)
You take a sudden interest n "Wrestlemania". (Female hormone deficiency)

Maybe the uncomfortable and even painful transition and wild rocky ride of menopause (like puberty) is the result of the fall, rather than menopause itself.

I might add that I was born 3 days before my mother's 36th birthday, and I don't have anything resembling Down's syndrome.
---Cluny on 6/1/09

Maybe menopause is due to the fall of women. lol
---Sue on 5/31/09

Jim, Menopause is neither an affliction nor a disease, but God's way of protecting normal childbirth!
As a woman reaches 35yrs. it becomes more risky to conceive!
Before age 35 about 1 in 1,400 will be Down Syndrome, after age 35 the risk becomes 1 per 100!
20 years is a big enough envelope to raise children.

Every 'Affliction' is due to the Fall of man.
