And what relwvance has that reference to your hatred of the RCC?

I have lit candles for my daughters birthdays, and the virgins had lamps, and we are told not to hide our righr under a bushel.

You will do and quote and misapply and distort anything to damn the RCC.

The RCC is wrong on many things, but you should be ashamed of your dishonest attempts to Satanise it.

alan, Revelation 18:23," And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee, and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth, for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived." Is where candles are referred too.

The Answer is NO! Scriptures are speaking of the destruction of the "World's economic system". And the anti-christ. In the Book of Revelation, the world in rebellion against God is called "Babylon". Also, in Revelation I find, Babylon is a word picture for a society that Persecuted God's people, but that God will eventually destroy.Perhaps by "Nuclear Energy". [Imagine that!] The reaction to this destruction>>>despair on earth delight in heaven....During this awful time there will be a falling away from the faith. God is talking about demons and false doctrines, and the world is involved in this. [The antichrist] The good news God is going to take the church OUT++

I can't see anything in yours of 7/20 which has the slightest relevance to candles.

alan, yes a very serious statement so serious in fact that you should investigate it to see if it is outrageously wrong or in fact is the truth.
May I suggest you began by reading the history of the Roman Catholic Church. From the teaching of purgatory to the deification of Mary the Roman Catholic Church is leading many to hell. One other thing I would point out to you about Revelation 18 and the talk of candles is what other church is so tightly woven with the lighting of a candle scenario?

Mima .... "The above refers to the Roman Catholic Church"

That is a very serious statement, Mima.

Have you even the minutest piece of evidence for it?

Where in Revelation does it refer to the Catholic Church?

You have to understand that spiritual things are spiritually discerned, mima.

A christian doesn't need to join a "church" to have a personal relationhip with God. In fact, joining a denominational church (each having their own traditions, ways of living, and interpretations of the bible) is most certainly detrimental to your walk with God. Denominational christians will even mock the two prophets mentioned in Reveation because the two prophets do not conform to their church's doctrines.

Denominational "churches" gets a christian into the habit of being hearers only.

Keep christianity simple. During these last days, people are just too educated for their own good. They can take a simple concept and turn it into somethin complex.

As Paul wrote to the Colossians saying, "Don't let others spoil your faith and joy with their philosophies, their wrong and shallow answers built on men's thoughts and ideas." Instead do what Christ has said. Simply do the two commandments Jesus spoke of. Also, do an online KJV bible search for "one another," "each other," and "encourag" because living a christian life is a 24/7 lifestyle - not a once a week pep talk dished out by denominational "churches."

You must realise that The Revelation is written primarily about Jewish people and about the nation of Israel.

Rev. 18:4 is a directive to the Jewish people (My people, in whom the Believer is "grafted" into) to flee this entity where they are residing because the judgment of God is coming upon that entity.

Many think that this entity is the Roman Catholic church. But how many Jewish people are part of the RCC?

In fact, outside of Israel, where is the largest Jewish population? Why the U.S.A, NYC specifically.

This is another point that proves the idea that the U.S.A is Mystery Babylon.

IF YOU believe that "Satan's Seat is ruling inside the congregation" of YOUR church, then you should leave.

We shouldn't be so "command happy". God is capable of saying things to His children without "COMMANDING",...He didn't COMMAND us to be saved, etc.

It would be nice if people were WILLING to love Him and WILLING to behave in a Godly manner, but many aren't and therefore they feel that they must be "commanded" to "obey" or else.

God doesn't "command" anyone to leave the "church of man", but His good advice (wise counsel) is well taken by the sincere.

All throughout history, most have come to Jesus simply for "healing" and would not be able to UNDERSTAND with their MIND (Romans 12:2).

Acts 28:27
"and understand with their HEART...".

2And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

3For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

4And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

The above refers to the Roman Catholic Church.

Revelation 18:4 is directed toward those conforming to the religious system of that time. Admonishing the adherents to that system to come out of the confusion surrounding that corrupted seat of idolatry. For that system will have fallen under judgement, becoming the abode of those who will bow to and advocate the deception and influence of the spurious christ. 2Thes.2:3,4 relates in the sense that the falling away is a result of the denominational system of religion that has corrupted the Father's word through its traditions and fornication in the sense of mixing the truth of His word with what is referred to scripturally as the doctrines of devils. That unclean thing we are not to touch (associate with) is The Abomination that makes desolate.

Well, Rosalie, we need to be pure, ourselves, and not be just leaving a church building. Not living in fear of dying. Not worring about our lives and things in our lives, but be loving all people, not criticizing them but caring. Or else, we are part of the problem even if we get out of a wrong church, still needing to get what is right.
