Well, we need more people with a heart. A heart for God, and the things of God. You will love people. As God loves you. More understanding, more caring----If you don't care for someone's soul, then you don't love people. Ah.
---catherine on 5/29/10

Looking in the mirror again, Catherine? You spend a lot of time trying to convince us that you are not a hypocrite, yet everything out of your mouth sounds like, "God, I am glad I am not like those worthless people. I love You. I worship You. I prophesy for You. See how much more wonderful I am than them? Look how genuine I am and how fake they are?" Do you really believe that such divisiveness and favoritism pleases Him?
---Linda on 5/29/10

catherine: "The living God does not know the hypocrites" Surely, you don't mean that. God knows everything. Maybe you missed my question. Here it is again:

Do you ALWAYS say and do that which is strictly in accordance with what you claim to believe?
---jerry6593 on 5/29/10

My dear, you know nothing about God or the things of God. Hypocrites are pretenders in the faith....The living God does not know the hypocrites not does He live in them. He lives in me. I have many times given my Blood-bought testimony. I see no one else doing that. Come on.
---catherine on 5/28/10

catherine: "I cannot stand a hypocrite." I say that just as all men are sinners at some point in their lives, so too are all men (and women) hypocrites at some point. Here is a simple test:

Do you ALWAYS say and do that which is strictly in accordance with what you claim to believe? If the answer is NO, then you are a hypocrite. If the answer is YES, then the Bible says that you are a liar.
---jerry6593 on 5/28/10

I cannot stand a hypocrite. They talk as though butter melts in their mouth. As if an angel has just dropped from out of the sky. Makes the truly righteous, what few there are look like the wicked. I just hate it. These self-righteous idiots. makes God out to be something other than what He really is. Gives the trues a bad reputation. Yes, I cannot stand the self-righteous, and neither can God. And these hypocrites on here seems to get more attention and rights than God's trues. That's okay. Judgment day is a coming.

It is not just important, it is essential! Love is the very character of God - a character that we must emulate if we would see heaven. Love is the foundation of God's government, as enumerated in the Ten Commandments - and summarized by love to God and love to our fellow man. Without love, it is impossible to please Him.
---jerry6593 on 5/22/10

very important ! thatis why jesus teaches us to love GOD and our nighbours if it wasnt important, jesus would not encourage it.
---edward on 5/22/10

Be it as a Christian, as a Muslim, as a Buddhist, or as anything, love is absolutely important. Unless religion (Christianity, etc.) is business, then it can never go without love.
---sam on 5/18/10

It is not as imporatant to know about love than it is to apply it. Love has waxed cold during these end times. Christians know that they must love, but is lost when it comes to the how. It is the absense of love in the world that will reveal the anitchrist. It is very important right now to put on the whole armor of God so that the love of God will protect you and yours during these very trying times.
---Steveng on 5/18/10

It is more important to God. First, you must love God. Care for others souls. Tell them the truth about hell. About Satan. Only the love of God enables a person Of God to love others. Any person, I'm trying to think of Scripture, here. Any person "that don't care about your soul, hates your soul".

...GOD is LOVE...says it all!
If God is with in you, love dwells in you,

Well...they know we are Christians by our ????

From the angry, political rants you would think we either have a blog full of confused Christians or just religious conservatives and liberals who aren't Christians at all.
The mean things heaped upon any president or pastor is just not a reflection of holy speech.
We all have to be on guard, present company included. God bless.

Every Christian is called to love. Jesus said it plainly:

Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

For the New Testament Christian, these are the commandments to follow. They are not optional.

catherine: "Only when God calls you into it."

A person does not need to be called into becoming a christian. Do you even understand what the calling is? Once a person becomes a christian and is proved worthy of a certain calling, like an apostle or a prophet, that christian is called according to God's purpose, to walk worthy of the vocation that person is called into. Although we are able to perform greater miracles than Jesus and have all the gifts of the spirit (for nothing is impossible with God) one gift is the overpowering gift.
---Steveng on 4/9/10

Only when God calls you into it. God has many sides to Him. Most only preach one side, love, love, love. God has different moods. You want to be "Christ-like" be your self with God. Remember, I said, "with God"....HALLELUJAH. Thank You Jesus.

Love - there is none other commandment greater than this. A new commandment that Jesus gave us, that we love one another as Jesus loves us and that we also love one another for he that loves another has fulfilled the law. In fact, all the law is fulfilled in one word - Love. Remember: everything that you do and everything that you say is the labor of love toward God.

Praying you and yours peace of mind, joy of spirit, good health, and many great friends to share them with in Jesus' name.

LOVE is of paramount importance in the Christian experience. We may confidently expect that not having spared His Son, He will also give us freely what's needed for our salvation.Jesus also tells us that he that loveth him, shall receive His love as welll as the Father's love and we shall be called SONS OF GOD.
In view of God's great LOVE for us, we ought to LOVE one another and be ready to lay down our lives if necessary.
Finally, God sometimes uses LOVE to discipline us but we can rest assured that He loves us with an everlasting love and if we are in Christ, nothing can seperate us from His LOVE.

it is the most important thing to Love one another as christ loved us! the greatest command!
---candice on 4/7/10

I believe we as believers, and iam as guility as anyone, need to stop or should I say more often build people up,rather than look for their mistakes, correct in love, always realizing we are all human and make mistakes, and have errors at times in our beliefs.never reaching conclusions about anyone, that comes dangerously close to judgeing them, which is Gods job.

The two greatist commandments are Love GOD and love our neighbors. Whithout love their is no Christianity.

JESUS said you will know His followers by their love.
---Samuel on 4/5/10

Why did God bother with Creation and Humanity, knowing that many would make wrong moves and feel wrong feelings? He did it IN love, FOR love, ABOUT love, to allow Love to exist and to be experienced, God to us, us to God, us to us. Insulting love insults God.
---Geraldine on 4/4/10

"Is love important as a Christian?" Of course.
Faith works through love, faith is 'the' work of love, for The Father is love.
Without faith it is impossible to please Him, without Him, knowing and expressing true love, is impossible. We love Father because He first loved us, because He loves us, we have the capacity to, and the privilege of, loving our fellow man.

-- Fhoma6579 :

Brother, You asked ~ "Is love important as a Christian?"

We as God's Children have been given a 'New Commandment', that we should Love one another as the Lord has Loved us : and by this shall all men know that we're His Disciples.

So, Though we speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not Charity, we become only as a sounding Brass, or a Tinkling Cymbal.

Though we bestow all our goods to feed the poor, and give our body to be burned, and have not Charity, it profiteth us nothing b/c the end of the commandment is Charity out of a Pure Heart, and of a Good Conscience, and of Faith Unfeigned.
---Shawn.M.T on 4/3/10

Paul speaks of the "faith working through love," in Galatians 5:6.
---Bill_bila5659 on 4/3/10

Other than faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, love is the single most important thing for the Christian experience. "without love you are nothing." Read the scriptures provided by the other bloggers. There is no doubt that love is important and in-fact "covers a multitude of sin".
---jody on 4/3/10

no,the same question was asked of peter by jesus, and in that same spirit I ask the same question more to enable my fellow brothers ,and sisters in christ to take a moment and ponder their lives, and who they truly love, and whether they really reflect Gods love to the you?

According to 1 Cor 13, it's the "more excellent way."

In fact, in Matthew 25, active works of love seem to be the only issue at the Last Judgement.
---Cluny on 4/3/10

Love is important to everyone but especially Christians. 1 John 4:7 & 8 Beloved let us love one another:for love is of God, everyone that loves is born of God and knows God. He that loves not, knows not God,for God is love. Matthew 22:37 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Mark 12,33 says ,"understanding" instead of mind and love neighbor as yourself. Those are the two Commandments to the Gentiles in the New Testament. 1 Corinthianw 13:3-8 this is the "love" chapter in the Bible, this tells you what real love is. I suggest you learn it and conduct your life in a manner which lines up with the Bible which is saying live love,be like Christ.

---ger.toshav on 4/3/10

Love (charity) is THE most important thing in the Christian life, according to Luke chapter 10 and many other scriptures. If you mean biology love of human for human, that is another subject. It is important for Christians as the way to live affectionately as mate and parent.
