Eloy: There must be a sizeable, regular viewing audience to make it profitable for networks to air programming in given geographical areas. I'm not absolutely sure, but they may "certainy" be on tv where Sarah Palin lives. Also, the Stooges are likely on tv in many backwater rural communities of American with names like Teabag, Militia, Yuk yuk yuk, Nobama, Anarchy, etc. :)

If you want, you can find the The Stooges on Youtube. Also, one or more frequently show up on CN blogs...
---Leon on 4/21/10

Are the three stooges still being shown on TV? I think Moe was the boss out of the three. And I have not seen Shemp nor Joe.
---Eloy on 4/19/10

Good question! Okay, I'm ready to play "My FavoriAte
Stooge" Macky. I believe the only silly (senseless) questions are the ones not asked.

Because of unrepented sin, could it be God sees us "ALL" (apart from the blood of Jesus) like the Three Stooges -- retarded? Could it be we're really not as sophisticated as we think we are?

Frankly, I liked Moe (Moses) the best because he was best qualified (I.Q. 2) to be their leader & he had that "get in line slap" worked out to a science. :)
---Leon on 4/18/10

Brother Jim, I agree. I would have added Andy Griffith to my list, if I'd thought of it. Comedies, especially these days, are pretty un-funny.
Those who talk about the "Three Stooges era" probably don't realize their popularity started in the 1930's. Slapstick was in it's heyday, then.

No, I'm not THAT old (not even close).
---Donna66 on 4/17/10

Donna, we must be the same age... or at least like the same type of programs. Dick Van Dyke, Honeymooners, I Dream of Jeanie... all classics. I also liked the Stooges... but where has the humor gone? I find it hard to "watch" comedy today. Christians are the first to be laughed at. Remember when Andy Griffith went to church with his family? In today's shows dad's are dumb idiots...(Simsons and Roseann Barr) come to mind... I almost refuse to watch TV because the intelligence level has dropped off of the map. Hello Discovery Channel...
---Jim on 4/17/10

Humor I liked included:
(I had to dig deep in my memory bank for these)
"Father Knows Best", "The Honeymooners", "I Dream of Jeanine", "Dick Van Dyke Show"

and later... "Cheers" and my all time favorite, "FRAZER"!

I never liked slapstick much. It was clever dialogue that made most of these funny.
---Donna66 on 4/15/10

If you couldn't find Curly funny, than something must be wrong with your funny bone... At times, I look forward to watching them on a Sat. night... Why not?
When I was young, I knew to laugh at the slapstick, now I "read" the humor. Do you remember when they were lawyers the name of the law firm was "Dewey, Cheatum and Howe". Life is too short to not watch the Stooges from time to time...
---Jim on 4/15/10

donna66...What kind of humor from the Stooges era did you like?
---KarenD on 4/15/10

I didn't like any of them....not my type of humor.
---Donna66 on 4/14/10

Yes, I always liked Curley the best of all of them too :)

Yes, I kind of figured that (but then again, one can't tell if any specific reader will take comments made in jest as if they were made seriously).
---StrongAxe on 4/15/10

remember God has given us the ability to laugh,so apparently he doesn,t mind if we do.I liked them all.
---tom2 on 4/14/10

Strongaxe -- The advertising blogs are not wriiten by you or me and probably not the other bloggers that we know. They are not inviting comment. Since there are all ready quite a few of those, I favor questions that Christians, by nature of their faith, would be interested in answering.
---Donna66 on 4/14/10

Can anyone answer Macky's question or is it too difficult? So far 26 responses and everyone is confused about Moe, Larry, Curly, Shemp and Joe. I vote for Curly :)
---Al_of_UK on 4/14/10

StrongAxe, I was making a joke, since the Stooges were jokers. I knew Larry was Jewish. Sorry!
---ger.toshav on 4/14/10

Yes, I know they are advertising, but I mentioned them for two reasons:
1) They are shown in the list of blog topics, and look just like them, so I have often clicked on them, thinking they are blogs.
2) Those particular ones are advertising products that (like the blogs you asked about) have nothing to do with the Bible.
---StrongAxe on 4/13/10

There are more reasons than self-righteousness.

Anyway, just one bite of the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil won't hurt, will it?

Strongaxe -- I believe a number of those you name are advertising allowed by Christianet.
Have you visited any of these..
"No cost refinancing, What is voice over ip, World time server, Wealth management software, Wholesale travel insurance products, Free credit score online, etc."? They are not discussions at all. Just info on products (in hopes you will buy?)

The ones like the Vatican and the Beatles, Obama in outer space, are frivolous and I wouldn't miss them at all.
---Donna66 on 4/13/10

It is really sad when a very silly question can't be asked with people getting all self-righteous. I haven't posted an answer until now because I had to think about this one. Is Larry that fat, bald one? If so, then he is my favorite one cause I like bald-headed men like my husband. LOL
---KarenD on 4/13/10

The Worldwide Christian's not only a blogsite...what do you expect? Do you go to work for free? Since we choose not to do it One Way, we have to suffer through the other way... darn thorns and thistles.
---aka_joseph on 4/13/10

Donna66, candice:

There are plenty of blogs here that have nothing to do with the Bible. For example, Obama from outer space, No cost refinancing, Vatican's salvation to Beatles, What is voice over ip, World time server, Wealth management software, Avoid made in China products, Wholesale travel insurance products, Free credit score online, etc.

I'm for any SERIOUS question being posted (including politics...Christians vote, too)
If a Christian viewpoint can't be applied, skip it!
---Donna66 on 4/13/10

I am honestly wondering why silly Blogs such as this one and the others we have seen recently are allowed to post.

Yet serious Blogs and posts do not get posted.
---John on 4/13/10

I do not see a purpose for this question on a Christian blog site. Maybe I am missing something re the Three Stooges. Never heard of Shemp at all. Actually, I never liked slap stick comedy and never liked the Three Stooges.
---jody on 4/13/10

I agree this blog shouldn't be here unless it has a bible question with it. however that goes along with the polotics not belonging on a christian board either because church & state shouldn't mix in topic, both are total opposites.

I don't remember, but in The Family Circus cartoon a few yr's ago, it was either Billy or
Dolly that said, the epistles were the apostles wives.
---Lawrence on 4/13/10

Christian? They were all Jewish!

Check out biographies of Moses Harold Horwitz (aka "Moe Howard"), Samuel Horwitz (aka "Shemp Howard"), Jerome Lester Horwitz (aka "Curly Howard"), and Andrew Louis Feinberg (aka "Larry Fine"). Three of the four were brothers.

Of the two later replacements, Joe Besser was also Jewish, but I don't think Joe Wardell (aka "Curly-Joe DeRita") was.
---StrongAxe on 4/13/10

I am so glad to see this blog. I needed this reminder to take me back to the "good ole days" coming home from grade school and turning on the TV and watch Andy Starr (chicago broadcaster) tell us something about the Stooges and start a movie...and I would sit back and laugh... the "good ole days" Thanks,
P.S. I started my boys watching the stooges and every so often, they call me to the TV and say, "Dad the Stooges are on" and we sit down and watch a movie... Moe, Larry and Curly were my favorites...
---Jim on 4/12/10

Now this has really got to be a joke. But I wonder who is in on it?
Maybe I'll slow down posting so there can be more time spent on things like this that worry people so much.
Well, Larry hit me with a Curly board so I don't write no Moe.
Someone needs to ask forgiveness for this tripe. It has been bad in the past but this takes the "cake."

Wasn't Larry the Christian of the bunch? He was more passive...
---ger.toshav on 4/12/10

This reminds me when they tried to incorporate a Bible study using the Andy Griffith Show. Even Andy Griffith, himself, said that it was ridiculous.

I do see an advertisement for, "The Three Stooges," at the top of this blog, maybe that has something to do with it being here.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the three Stooges comedies as much as any one else.

But is ChristiaNet blogs the proper place to discuss them.

There are dedicated fan groups in the Internet for that.

If you go to a Church board meeting do you waste the time discussing if Tiger Woods is going to play in the next pro golf match, no you stick to the agenda complete the meeting and and do it out side in the parking lot.

There are times and places for doing different thing, just do them at the proper time and in the proper place.
---Friendly_Blogger on 4/12/10

Why do you ask?!
---Donna66 on 4/12/10

Well, God can use or turn anything for His purpose, like He did with Joseph. After people misused Joseph, God used him better (c: After Joseph's own brothers sold him into slavery, because of jealousy and spite, Joseph then gained power over all Egypt, and those brothers came there to get food during a famine. And "Joseph said to them, 'Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God? But as for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. Now therefore, do not be afraid, I will provide for you and your little ones.' And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them." (Genesis 50:19-21)

I consider the question to be a miss use of the resource.
