Bill can you give me more details on this. I am interested. Since I pray night and day for G-d to Bless me from this darkness of absolute poverty and NO money at all.
I cannnot serve G-d without this tool. I don't want money, but it is a neccesary tool in the service of G-d. I know if it is given to me, that it is NOT my money but His. And I will use it for His glory and service.

It is absolutely God's intent for His people to be financially prosperous. The enemy has successfully attacked the "Two Powers", and eliminated them from most of the Church. The first Power is the Spiritual Power (Holy Ghost), the second Power is the Worldly Power (Money, Wealth). God expects us to prosper, Spirit, Soul, and Body. I can not complete the detail needed in this space, so me email for more information.

Just imagine: Christians with money could help build beautiful churches, help orphans, widow, other christians. The saved and unsaved could be helped. We could drive nicer cars and live in nicer homes. Vacation. Help our families without strain. Eat better food, sleep better at night etc...Money is not the problem.

Is not fame self glorification? When you see a famous star who happens to claim to be Christian, who do you pay glory to?
A man who was about to enter the NBA and be a basketball star.
He said Lord I will tell everyone about you once I make the NBA.
And the Holy Spirit said.. Tell me...whos autograph will they be asking for???
The Lord seeks the Meek and the Humble.
All the Apostles and especially Jesus Christ Himself were all Losers in the world arena.
Jesus ran from the crowd that wanted to make Him a king on Earth. He could have sought and received Self Glory (Fame) on earth but didn't.
So follow him!
---John on 8/3/10|
There are rich christians. Money is not a problem. It is how we view money, how we earn our money and what we do with our money, that is evil. I would love to be wealthy or rich enough to pay my bills and not be a burden on anyone...ever! If we inherit money-legally. Work hard and earn our money--legally. I see nothing wrong with fame or fortune. You can be saved, wealthy and famous. But Christ has to come first in our lives. No compromise.

i dont know about fame or fortune, but i sure would like it if the Glorious Lord God Almighty would bless me with a couple thousand so i could get some motorized transportation :)

I know many people claim to be struggling, but compared to other places in the world, we in America are living "HIGH ON THE HOG".
We are selfish, greedy, and spoiled. It seems regardless of what we may have, it is never enough and we always want more.
I am thankful to have a roof over my head (EVEN THOUGH SOME PEOPLE WOULD CALL IT A SHACK), I am thankful I can eat at least one meal a day, and I am thankful to have at least one change of clothes.
There are people living in other countries who would consider having what I have to be rich and living in luxury.
How about you. If you had these basic needs, would you be thankful?

I have to confess that I sometimes wish that I could win BIG on these shows:
The Price Is Right
Wheel Of Fortune
The fact that I haven't, and haven't even been invited to appear on these TV show, is proof that God has other plans for me.
Nothing wrong with "fame" and "fortune". It just comes down to what God has in store for you.

It's never to late-your never to old to pick up that quitar and sing Praise to the God who gave you a gift to sing Praises to him.
In His eyes you are already a star upon Him-
He is the Rock of our Salvation.
Just get up and sing John-don't think about whether anyone else will hear your love song-He listens-His will be done, brother.
God bless you.

John, I'm sorry for what you are going through. I believe Shawn T, has given you very good wisely advice. He is one who is very much inspired and ready to present the Truth and in a very understandable way. Fame and fortune was not meant for you. Everything that has happened to you, was going to happen in the exact way it did. The same goes for me too. My wife had an accident where the car fail off an overpass all the way down, and she says, "what if I had done this or what if I had done that?" and I tell her, you did exactly right because if you had done something different you would not be here today. Enjoy what you have that so many others will never have, and thank the Lord in not only your good times, but also on the bad times.

SEQ, SHAWN M.T.
You both must be in tune with the Lord. I never heard such inspired advice! Thanks!
I feel closer in many respects to G-d, as I have received Visions and other prayers were answered. but at the same time I also feel like I have a curse. I have repeated Negative Miracles that no matter what I do or pray I am not allow to have any money at all. I know that sounds crazy.these are supernatural occurances by anyones standard. After many years of looking at this logically I have come to this conclusion. It is very perplexing.
Now I found out I have be stricken with Cancer, Diabetes, Hypertension. I feel like Job
Please pray that G-d will rescue me from this hell and answer my 30+/- year prayer.
---John on 7/9/10|
I would say your answer is
Do you feel closer or farther from God, right now?
Ask yourself can you stop thinking about God.
Or better yet, just try to stop thinking about God.
Youll see your answer is right there inside you!
Where it should be! Even I can hear it!
God bless you john!
John, keep this in your heart!
You can never fail God!
That would make Christ a loser.
Mat 18:12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
God would do no less!
How can one know this?

-- John :
Brother, The manifestation of Providence in our Lives is realized when we walk by Faith without the world's paralyzing fears of torment... But know that you owe no man any thing, but to Love one another: for he that Loveth another hath fulfilled the law. Rom.13:8
Our spiritual walk will not be perfect, but we Trust that our Heavenly Father is a Forgiving God which works all things together for good to them that Love Him(Rom.8:28). So recognize & give Glory for these Blessings of God's Grace which have transpiring in your Life... b/c there is a Blessing(and not a curse) for not being a rock star just as there is for being a rock star, when you reside in God's Love.

Well, John, I would say give God your talent and let Him pour His anointing in it. I wouldn't think He would want you to sing songs that tickle the ears of the world and feed into their wickedness. The devil will always promise to make you rich as long as you spend it his way. John, I prophesy that you will hear the prophetic song of the Lord that will melt the hearts of those who hear it. Sinners will be converted to Christ and the children of God will grow up. As you sing, your intimacy with Christ will be on display and those who see you will desire Him. Your whole identity will be lost in Him and you will be an inspiration to those whose talents are hidden.
The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof.
---Linda on 7/7/10|
What torments me is I'm not sure if it was the will of G-d and I failed him. I look around at those who are deformed, mentally ill etc . G-d gave me looks and talent, yet it amounted to nothing. Don't I owe these people, to use all the talent I have?
So I wonder if He curse me to a life of poverty because I failed him. Or was it a deception of satan and I made the right decision. How do I know? Satan used his beauty/talent to raise himself up. but I didn't. So was it right decision?
I think if you look at Paul/Moses etc. These were men headed to stardom, but changed. Certainly our Lord would be consider a loser by earthly standards. Also a Gamaliel said "if it were from G-d you cannot stop it".
I don't know.
---John on 7/7/10|
No, it is not Christian, but, only because God doesn't like it.
---catherine on 7/7/10|
-- John :
Brother, To be idolized & not known is an 'Oxymoron'!!! They would've known you & your Spiritual Walk. This fear of your past decision has 'Torment', and he that feareth is not made perfect in love, but perfect love casteth out fear.
So, Be present in this moment with the Lord's Love, living in the now of His Grace to cultivate and reinforce positive qualities within yourself & others b/c the only time that matters is right now, and while hind sight is 20/20, the man who dwells in his past will never step into his future.
Herein is our love made perfect, Which cast out the torment of fear, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: b/c as He is, so are we in this world. 1 John 4:17-18

Typical prosperity answer!
You want what David and Solomon had, would you do you also welcome their pain sufferings which came with their wealth.
Some people want to have what others have(coveting) their skin colour, hair, wealth, but forget there are also people who get their wealth and fortune through prostitution. Is it so attractive now?
You can have Anything you want in life, as long as you are willing to work be true to God, honest, pay your taxes and give unto God his portion, live righteously and humble yourself. Fame is for the world there are not many who ask to live and die as Christ and his disciples, but unless we do we have no part to share with him when he returns.
---Carla on 7/7/10|
In line with this question we should consider the following Scripture.
"But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day."

If a person is seeking fame, fortune, or more funds, they are susceptible to false teachings. Such as, "Do this and you'll become rich, or do this and you'll become famous."
---Rod4Him on 7/6/10|
Lots of great answers! My question was mostly concerning fame rather than money.
I was about to be famous Rock Star, but I decided not to, because once my face became well known, there would be no turning back. Everyplace I would go I would be idolized, no one would really know ME!
I did pray, but I honestly don't know why I turned back. I won't claim it was for a Noble cause to serve G-d. It might have been lazy, fear of fame. It might have been because I was a Christian as well. I'm not sure, but it does haunt me and I often wonder if I made the right decision since now I'm poor. I guess it was the... What if? Nearly every night I dream about playing my guitar. Its too late now, I'm too old.
---John on 7/6/10|
How about this verse. Do you think it applies?
1 Timothy 6:8
And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
---Cluny on 7/6/10|
John, Jesus wasn't famous and He didn't live on a fortune.
It is NOT Christ-like to seek fame and fortune.
Jesus did nothing with money, he moved in POWER. Wouldn't you rather have God's favor upon your life? God's wisdom everyday operating in your life? Money can't buy wisdom, can't buy health, can't buy love, can't buy anything from God, so why would you want it?
---Donna5535 on 7/6/10|
-- John :
Brother, Fame & Fortune, like any other tangible thing, is no different than "Money".... so ask yourself : Is it 'Money' or the 'Love of Money' that is the root of all evil?
God's Children's Love, being first & foremost for our Heavenly Father, knows that All things are lawful unto us, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for us, but we will not be brought under the power of any(1 Cor.6:12)... and it's through His Love to seek His Heavenly Kingdom first, that all these tangible things are added unto us.
John, God has nothing against 'Success'. Sin abounds everywhere but where sin abounded, God's Grace does much more abound.

I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one another's feet!
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also!

Depends on what you want fame and fortune for. Either one of these can hurt you by themselves. Get both of them together for the wrong reason they will destroy you.
With "getting" what we want comes greed. That is something to be careful of. Most people who want wealth all ready have a touch of greed. This is not to say you should reject it because if you serve the Lord wealth comes. It just doesn't always come in the form of money.

I guess the oly fame and fortune christ sort was to be hung on a cross to die for mankind.

Here is a tough, tough question. This question strips off all the niceties and pretensions of Christianity. My answer is 99.9% no! However both fame and Fortune can be used to gain others for the kingdom of God. But it is very very seldom done.-- I have pondered this question numerous times.

It is a snare and trap of Satan which too many people fall into, 1 Timothy 6:6-10.

Depends on what kind of fame and fortune.
C. S. Lewis, in THE GREAT DIVORCE, has his guide tell him, "You know that fame and fortune up here are NOT the same as they are on earth."
Earthly fame and fortune will pass away and eventually be taken from us. As the Rich Fool was told, "Tonight your soul will be required of you, and then whose will be all these riches?"
---Cluny on 7/4/10|
