On the last post I wrote some of the woes of following my Savior. This time I am going to give you a lighter side of following my Savior. He keeps me in stitches through-out most everyday. God is a whole lot of fun. An awesome sense of humor, He has.

Being a Christian can be very difficult, because, God expects so much from us, and He needs to teach us so much. God wants us to bear with Him. Staying in prayer is a must. God wants His people to praise Him, even in trials and tribulations, yet, He understands all that we go through. He understands our plight in this life better than we do. Some are called into a deeper relationship with God than others. This is a blessing, especially, if you are the type who really needs God. Seek His council. He loves that. Let me ask you a question: How much do you really need God? You go from there. Have a good day.

1 Tim 1:16, The ascended Christ gives us a PATTERN to follow.
When we have a pattern, it's much easier.

Paul says follow as I follow Christ 1Cor.11:1

Peter, late in life tells us who to follow 2 Pet 3:15,16

"What do you do to keep your walk with GOD?"
Simply make the choice to do so.
Then trust in, rely upon, and submit to, His guidance, and empowerment.
Kaneisha, remember this old adage, when life is hard, and you can see only one set of footprints in the sand, it is 'He', that is carrying 'you'. Rest in His loving arms.

Please know this is an affair of the heart. Your relationship with Jesus will define your walk. The more you love Him, the more you will want to know Him, talk with Him, seek after Him, please Him, and be like Him. You will want to know what He wants of you and how you can fulfill it.

Jesus told us how to live and love Him in my favorite verse:

John 14:21 "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will manifest Myself to him.

I don't see christianity as being hard, I did nothing to earn it, Christ gave me a pattern to follow 1 Tim 1:16. He told me how to study 2 Tim 2:15. He tells me where to study in order to understand my position in Him. Romans. He tells me the simple Gospel for salvation 1 Cor 15:1-4 After what He does, and has done for me, living for Him is not that hard

Psalms 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Psalms 1:2 But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD, and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Kaneisha: Godbless you. You are a christian after my own heart. I love discipleship and mentoring new christians. Too sad, most churches do not really have this ministry. It is so important. Discipleship is when a more mature christian takes a baby or young christian under their wing(s) and teach them the way, until they have grown and can stand reasonably well, on their own. When you are a baby in Christ you are very vulnerable. The devil knows this. A mentor or mature christian can be very helpful to you. Don't give up. No matter what. I will put the basic steps in another posts to you. You can add others, as you grow. Dont want to make this post too long. God bless

Linda...Donna...I agree.
Being a christian is not easy, but we must remember that we are not alone on this journey. For HE will never leave us or forsake us.

Just simply fellowship with Him. Don't you think He already knows what is going on in your heart? That doesn't mean He doesn't want to hear it from you. He simply loves your presence, loves to hear your voice, loves to see your face. He really is in love with you and takes pleasure in revealing Himself to you, in you, and through you. Never get away from the truth that He loved you first. It really is very simple, so don't let anyone deceive you from the simplicity that is in Christ.

My congregation has daily bible readings 3 x's a day. I try to read it just so, & not just read it ,but follow the example. I'm not perfect. I also need to have daily talks with God & know I can't hide any fears, or good news from him, because he knows all.It is a daily walk.

Kaneisha, carefully study what is written in Galatians Chapter Two.
---Rob on 7/13/10

1) Talk to God - share what's in your heart.

2) Praise Him-Father I praise you for Who you are and for what You have done for me so far and what you are going to be doing for me, thank you Father God.

3) Worship Him - sing songs of Worship to him, about him, etc.,

4) Read the bible - start with the gospel of John. Get a pack of index cards, put scriptures on there that speak to your heart and memorize them. Start memorizing Psalm 23. Write it on the index card, carry it with you throughout your day and memorize it-you will be changed by the time you got the whole thing memorized.
