Asking For Poor People's Money

Daystar is having their "FALL SHARE-A-THON. Mike Murdock was a guest who told people he doesn't care if they are down to their last $58 they need to send it. Isn't this being RUTHLESS, Romans 1:31? Instead of taking from the poor, why don't they give to the poor, Mark 10:21?

The word says that the saints sold their possessions and gave to the poor and elsewhere that they had all things common.
These men are going against the word of God and will answer for it one day at the judgment seat of Christ.
---Frank on 12/3/10

I turn the channel on Murdock. He looks like a crook and all but tells the people he is crooked and they still send him money. How ridiculous! This man is no more a prophet of God than Might Mouse. No one is obligated to give to anyone they do not know anything about. As far as I am concerned, Mike Murdock can go to & ^%^*??. I am tired of these fat cats driving up to the church in their Rolls and I am driving a VW Beetle. They leave with duffle bags full of money. Moving to the next city to wield their evil on unsuspecting flocks.
---Robyn on 12/2/10

Rob, I totally agree. But don't they have somewhere in small print that the reason one did not receive is because THEY lacked faith.

They're crooks. Plain and simple. Trafficing in the Gospel!
---kathr4453 on 11/18/10

The Saved/ Redeemed can't be cursed for not tithing! Bible illiterates read Galatians AND BIBLE COMMENTARY-Jesus fulfilled all Covenant laws, no one else could, Incl. male Circumcision (circumcision like tithing was before & after the Mosaic law wonder why they don't push that like they do tithing?mmm.. )

All 613 Mosaic laws had to be kept.See James 2:10

Malachi was only to Jews (BEFORE the Crucifixion). Now "Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law becoming cursed on the Cross for us". Gal.3:13

Galatians 5:4 Those trying to earn favor by law keepin are cut off from grace(unearned favor)

TITHE LIARS may be in danger of going to Hell!

On their Share-A-Thon this week, Daystar has an Individual by the name of Jonathan Miller, who like Mike Murdock, told people he does not care if they have the money, they need to get it and send it, $100 a month for ten months, $1,000, or $10,000.

The only difference I see etween Mike Murdock and Jonathan Miller is their age and their name.

If a business takes money from people with the promise the giver will receive something in return, and the giver does not receive it, the business is charged, prosecuted, and convicted of FRAUD.

I believe same thing should happen to Daystar, TBN, along with those FALSE TACHERS the provide a venue for.
---Rob on 9/3/10

Mike and Saq, the Bible teaches Satan is subtle and a deceiver. So are many of the people like Mike Murdock who appear on Daystar and TBN.

They claim to be of God, but their subtle deceit is more inline with being of Satan.

I believe these people have brainwashed others into worshpping them. A perfect example is Joel Olsteen. On live public television, Olsteen rejected that Salvation is only through Christ. I shared the video tape with a person. That person told me not to talk bad about the man of God, and has not spoken to me since.
---Rob on 8/28/10

Mike Murdock should stick to his calling. He is an awesome singer. But, now he has turned to being a greedy, money-hungry guy on TBN. You are know by the company you keep.
---KarenD on 8/26/10

TBN and stuff -- many people have told me that I should get involved in these TV ministries. I question their motives. Maybe sales pitches for more money for the TBN robbers? I know I'll have my "critics" for saying that. Oh, well . . .

I believe that you should GIVE to your church. They can direct your money for GOD's work and you will be blessed in return.

Read John 12:3-8

3Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.

4Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, which should betray him,

5Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?

6This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.

7Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this.

8For the poor always ye have with you, but me ye have not always.

STEVENG - GIVING to the poor and helping underprivileged is never a bad thing ,But the main focus of a believer is bring the gospel, and that what the Bible is about, helping the poor in spirit,You can give a poor person, shoes ,houseing , food and if that person remains unsave they have nothing.Maybe a more conformable life for awhile.
---RICHARD on 8/25/10

RICHARD: "When the BIBLE says thing about the poor alot of time it means feeding them spiritually, Remember the Bible is a spiritual book..."

On the contary, we are to give material things to the poor and neady: clothes, drink, money, etc. And when we really want to follow Jesus, we would have to sell everything we have and give the money to the poor.

Mark 10:21
Mark 14:7
1 Corinthians 13:3

Giving is mentioned a lot, preaching to the a little.
Luke 7:22

it's being BRAINWASHED by the book of malachi. if we don't give we are accused of robbing god, disobedience.
---mike on 8/25/10

Me too.

I no longer even think about going to "special" healing, evangelism, outreach, etc. services. I have heard the story from Malachi too many times to even remember. At the end of these "special" services.

I'm left feeling that all that these ministries care about is MONEY. God cares about PEOPLE. Quite a difference there.

Funny thing is, I never received even a simple "Thank You" note from the ministries that I donated too. Hmmm. I'm robbing an earthly ministry? So What!

Not all of us are gullible

it's being BRAINWASHED by the book of malachi. if we don't give we are accused of robbing god, disobedience.
i was brainwashed with the same tactic, they give examples that after they gave their 10% or seed money, they received millions & millions of dollars.
pat robertson of 0700 club does that. he will ask for money, then show people who were 'blessed'. so I believed & gave but the only blessing i received was 4 sheets of labels with my address on it. wow
then if it does not work they will say 'YE LACK FAITH' in other words YOU HAVE THE PROBLEM SO SHUT UP
---mike on 8/25/10

Oh yes, ole' Mike Murdock. Yep, he's been bouncing around different t.v. ministries since the PTL Jim and Tammy Bakker Show days. He was a great friend of theirs and was always composing songs for Tammy and always on their telethons. He authored alot of books and has his own show on some networks. Of late I have seen him making money 'seed faith' pitches for Paula White, The Inspiration Network, The Word Network, Daystar Network, etc. and also for himself. Yes, some of us are familiar with ole' Mike Murdock. Not all of us are gullible.........

Jesus Christ watched the poor widow put in her last mite. Surely He blessed her for it.
---Betty on 8/24/10

If someone IS down to his/her last $58 and DOES give it (to something good) then I'm sure God will bless that person.

But I don,t think it is our job to tell people TO give
---Peter on 8/24/10

When Teachers,Preachers,Ministers,Pastors ETC.Ask for money all my antennas go up in my head:
When a person or church is TRULY from God,they need not ask for money......God provides when it's truly from Him
---Katie on 8/24/10

Do not send people on t.v. money. they use it to help for the airtime etc..If you truly want to tithe or help out tithe at your local church or a local trusted charity helping widows & children.
God knows how much you make & what you can spend cheerfully. No one else needs to know the amount.

Cluny, if you want to know the significance of $58 you need to ask Daystar or Mike Murdock because I don't have a clue.

All I know is they told people they need to "SOW A SEED of $58 a month for 12 months.

Later in the day, Daystar had Mike Murdock on again from a broadcast taping from 2005. They told people they needed to send $8,500.

PSALMS 70:5 BUT I am poor and needy,MAKE haste to me,O GOD! YOU are my help and my deliverer, O LORD, do not delay.
( When the BIBLE says thing about the poor alot of time it means feeding them spiritually, Remember the Bible is a spiritual book.Don't get me wrong I would have problems asking a poor person for money.I could go on how a poor women gave money in the bible, but that would take to much space.
PROVERBS 22:16 HE WHO oppresses the poor to increase his riches,AND he who gives to the rich, will surely be poor.
1 CORINTHIANS 2:12 ---- But the spirit who is from GOD, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by GOD.
---RICHARD on 8/23/10

God loves a cheerful giver,I also believe God does not like when someone asks for a specific amount,or sets limits,or minimums.there is a story in the new testament where a women gave he last few pennies, christ comment was that her gift was the greatest of all because she gave all she had.
---tom2 on 8/24/10

"Instead of taking from the poor, why don't they give to the poor, Mark 10:21?"
Excellent question, and one I would love to ask them.
The answer would probably be something along these lines, "Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime."

I feel as though both myself, and several other folks, have been "fleeced" by these Holier-Than-Thou figures.

Whatever their stories, powerful phrases, the significance of $58, etc. I just turn and run now.

I should add that I have been told that I'm being "unfaithful" by NOT supporting these ministries or money beggars. Oh, really?

Sounds more like a plea for help from a robber.
---Sag on 8/24/10

Well, there is so much that I do not understand. God's preachers are suppose to be using the money that they collect to help other people. I personally, feel that these rich God's preachers ought to be seeking out other Christians who needs help. Especially those in foreign places who's living their lives under such scrutiny. Some are murdered, starved, abused. Staying in hiding. Going underground.
---catherine on 8/24/10

What is the significance of $58?
---Cluny on 8/23/10

Before answering your question, looked up the history, presant and past about MikeMurcock. My advice is to leave as fast as you can out of the nearest, "exit". He is strickly for Mike Murdock with just enough Christianty to sound impressive. DO NOT send him money, even if you can afford it. To say he is, "ruthless" is being nice, it's more accurate to say he's being selfish and self centered and doesn't really care about anyone, just his success.
