Easy Sandra, you're not seeking him. Those who seek him will find him because that's his promise.

You only have to ask Him to come closer. Complain a Little, He will hear you. Others in the Bible, had to learned to wait patiently on God, for His presence. I have also, been through this a bit.

when lonely, hope on the man of many sorrows.

your loneliness will eventually change to lonesomeness...(that is loneliness filled with Hope). Use that time wisely.

when hurting, serve those who hurt more.

when crying, serve those who cry louder.

when hungry, give away your food to the hungrier.

Bless those who do not know how to receive yet.

May God Bless you.

Part B of my answer: There are at least 3 things a person needs to constantly to do to feel close to God. One: Pray each day, two: read the Bible each day, and three: join a fellowhip of belivers. (Just make sure if it's a church, that is a Christ centered church and not just, "A social club with tax exemption.") In part A I stated that if you seem to think God is so far away, guess who moved, but didn't add part B until now.

I do have one correction to make. It should've been God's presence, and not His presents. Sounded like use to His gifts, ect. Good grief.

Well, now this is amazing, Adetunji, I was only looking at that Scripture the other-day..... Sandra, some prophets in the Bible complained of the same thing. And there is none of us who likes it. The sorest affliction which God can place upon one of His own, is when He turns His face away. It is the most absolute terrifying experience. We are so use to having His presents, and then He decides to pull this on us. [only once for me]. Anyhow, I believe that when we are walking close to God at times will feel as if He has forgotten us. Need not to worry. "I will never leave you nor forsake you." A GREAT PROMISE FROM JESUS CHRIST. Hallelujah. Hang in there.

Sandra pls meditate on these words of God from Isaiah 65:2, >>I have spread out my hand all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts<<. Does this in any way touch you? Have u being doing some things negligent of God's instructions? If it is so, prayerfully turnaround even now. If it is not so, check whether u have been thankful enough for the things God is doing in your life right now, be more thankful to God and prayerfully more helpful to others(as God leads). Let us know in a few days if your lonely feeling remains.

\\the reason why their faith is destroyed is bec. other christians & pastors demonize everything & everyone. \\

That's a great oversimplification, and probably not generally true.
---Cluny on 9/23/10

We first need to be concerned about being pleasing to You, LORD our Father, not mainly concerned about how we are feeling but what You are feeling so You are pleased. God does have feelings.

"rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God." (1 Peter 3:4)

While we are being pleasing to God in His love's "gentle and quiet spirit", we also are enjoying Him in His own "incorruptible beauty". But this is in quietness. So, Satan attacks quietness with boredom and loneliness so we fear becoming quiet where we can meet God.

sandra, not knowing your personal relationship with God,let me say it is not God that has gone anywhere usually.
---tom2 on 9/22/10

Sandra, I forgot to mention that we don't go by feelings--we go by FAITH and what we KNOW to be true from the Scripture.
---Cluny on 9/22/10

Sandra,Who is telling you that God is far away? How far is "far away"?
Have you heard of the "true light""that lighteth every man(woman too)that comes into the world"?
Now you know. The spirit is within your thoughts as everyone else.God exists inside the part that you call mind.It is not felt with human emotion although that is in some ways the way people describe the experience with God..Neither is the spirit of God a visible presence seen with the human eye.Have you not heard of the 'inner man'(your Father that is in you)?
Is this enough to make you begin to realize God is within you.And is not the Spirit of Truth the spiritual presence of Jesus's ministry as he is about his Father's business elsewhere?

people have faith. the reason why their faith is destroyed is bec. other christians & pastors demonize everything & everyone.

luke 18:35-42 the blind man CRIED OUT FOR healing but the people said to the blind man to SHUT UP. verse 39

after the healing jesus on verse 42 receive your sight YOUR FAITH HAS HEALED YOU.

many christians lives are devastated bec. there are christians whose attitude are to start pointing blaming accusing sin.

God should not be EXTERNAL [only], He should first be INTERNAL. We should also be living spiritually INSIDE of Jesus's own body. If we love God AND HIS WAYS, then we need not fear satan (satan is being restrained until the end by our attitude/spirit of truth that God teaches us).

2 Thessalonians 2:6
"And you know what is restraining him now".

If our 'dream of dreams' is "THE LORD" and we DELIGHT in The Lord and His ways (and let HIM teach instead of the church of man), then He will teach us MATURITY in Christ (Hebrews 5:14) with "SOLID FOOD".

Luke 7:38
"and wiped them with the hair of her head".

Romans 7:22
"For I delight in the law of God" (inner temple).

Sandra, I just thought of something.

I bet if you sing, I need thee every hour, Lord I need thee. Sing it again, I need thee every hour, every hour I need thee.

I bet the Lord will draw nigh to you.

Because His word says, Draw nigh to God and God will draw nigh to you.

You take the first step in worshipping Him and He will come down (his presence) and meet you halfway. Try it, I bet He does it for you, because you are His child!!!

Even though he is up in the heavens he isn't that far away. Sometimes when we take our focus & thoughts off God & his knigdom we wander away from him, but we can turn around & head back. He is there.
---candice on 9/22/10

Sandra, always pay attention to the words you use to describe your thoughts.

You used the word SEEM because deep down inside (your inner person/conscience/consciousness) knows that the exact opposite of what you're thinking is true.

Satan is trying to trick you so that you get depressed (an identity crisis) and fall away from God. The reason is that you are very sincere and closer to God's heart than you think. You have the fruit of light (Ephesians 5:8, 9). It doesn't mean that you are perfect (no one is perfect/GOOD" but God alone) or were never mischievous, it means that you have the heart that God is looking for. You are doing just fine. Be an inner temple that belongs to the outer temple (John 2:19, 21 and 1 Corin. 3:16).

I know nothing about your spiritual journey, but Christian mystical writers have said that periods of "desolation" (such as you are going through) are followed by periods of "consolation," when you are aware of God's presence.

Oddly enough, our greatest spiritual growth occurs during periods of desolation.

There is a song:
~ In the very thought of Jesus his presence can be found,
he's as close as the mention of his name.
There is never any distance between my Lord and me.
He's as close as the mention of his name.

He's as close as the mention of his name,
Jesus, Jesus.
He's as close as the mention of his name,
Jesus, Jesus.

In my hour of struggle so many times I found,
he's as close as the mention of his name.
Just to breathe the name of Jesus can turn everything around.
He's as close as the mention of his name...~

Sandra often times I have felt that way but the scripture that guides me is Isaiah 59: 1-2. Moments like this helps us to re-examine ourselves to be sure we are still in Christ (2 Corinthians 13:5). Once am confident that all is well, then I do not need feelings to know that He is with me (Isaiah 43:2, Hebrew 13:5-6). Christianity has a lot of challenges (many are the afflictions of the righteous..Psalm 34:19) but we are guaranteed victory (but God delivers him from them all). May He never leave you.

Sandra, if you have the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, then HE, by HIS Spirit dwells in you.

YOu need to get the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Scriptures say: Know ye not that ye are the temple of the Holy Ghost. Filled with Praise, Filled with Power, Filled with Glory, ye are the temple of the Holy Ghost.

Study the Word....the Gift of the Holy Spirit, how you get it, how to relate to Him once you are Holy Ghost Baptized. Jesus said He will comfort you, lead you and guide you into all truth and He's been my best friend for 27 years.

Roman 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. "

The above verse is reason enough for you to praise the lord for the situation as it exists right now. Once you do this you will release the answer from your will and give God a chance to work his will in your life.
