Is Sperm Donation Biblical

As a Christian minister, student of the Bible, and a medical professional, I see nothing wrong with sperm donation by Christian men to Christian couples as long as it is artificial donor insemination, and no genital contact or nudity take place. If you are for it or against-why?

Lady-ship, I agree with what you said. God is the creator of all things, He does not need our help. Yet in the plan of God all this things are included in the plan. There is not one small atom out there working behind Gods plan.
He knows all things for He is all knowing.

James 1:17- Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. Mankind, we tend to take matters into our own hands. We began to look elsewhere for good things
Isaiah 66:9
Shall I bring to the point of birth and not cause to bring forth? says the Lord, shall I, who cause to bring forth, shut the womb? says your God.

Our Creator does not need our assistance in being Creator.. It is not our position to open a woman's womb in any way not expressed by God. We do not have to resort to worldly methods but to be steadfast in our belief that God can bring all good and perfect things that would glorify Him and Him alone

Nicole-Lacey, you...
1. Said the poster doesn't know the process of sperm donation
2. Said that sperm donation uses the implanting of several eggs (which happens during egg donations, not sperm)
3. Said that aborting extra fertilized implanted eggs is why sperm donation is wrong (which means you don't know the process).

From my understanding, people receiving a sperm donor have only one egg fertilized. This means there are no abortions.

I read your post.

I have a granddaughter that is special needs and it can be difficult and embarrassing at times when she acts up in public. Our granddaughter looks perfectly normal and people don't understand why she is acting the way she does.

Hang in there! Lord bless you and give your strength.
---trey on 6/27/17

You don't see a problem because you don't know the process.

They implant several fertilized eggs in hoping one or two will survive.

If all 6 or 8 happens to survive, they select 5 to 6 babies to abort AKA kill!

Remember Octomom?

She refused to pick and choose which of her babies to killed.

Thank God she kept all 8 babies.

Sperm donations are killing more babies than birthing babies.

The same thing that any parent should do - tell the child the truth. Is a two parent family ideal? Yes, but life is rarely ideal. There are many single-parent families, whether resulting from rape, or divorce, or murder or accident or other cause of death. Parents in those situations have to answer exactly the same question.

My husband and I miscarried our first and it put us both in depression. Our second is currently going through therapy for autism. I cry and get serious migraines. Our son can't speak. When we go out to eat, people get up and move. Our marriage is falling apart. Autism is hereditary. I think it would be selfish of me to take a chance of bringing another child into the world with a disability. You can't judge until you have been through it. We don't have $25,000 for adoption fee's so we may need to use a sperm donor. We are devoted Christians. God knows our hearts and knows I am not lusting after another man. As far as the sperm donor - if he is lusting, it's not my sin. He will be judged for his own sin.

i do think of sarah giving her handmade when she didnt conceive and there was contention but i dont know

Obewan: Also, we must consider OT Israel customs were approximately 1,000 years prior to God's giving of His law to Moses (Lev. 18) concerning human sexual relations. Gen. 38 clearly shows the giving "in marriage" of a brother's widowed wife to one of his other brothers. So, since they were married there was no act of adultery.

//Is Sperm Donation Biblical//

idk...but how you donate might be a problem.
---aka on 12/5/10

Very interesting point Obewan. It seems under those circumstances it wasn't considered adultery either.

Ross: I suspect inseminating a living man's wife with another man's sperm would indeed be considered adultery (extramarital sex). True, there's no genital contact, but nonetheless there is "physical contact (union)" of the man's sperm with the woman's ovaries -- therefore a "physical joining of the two sexes", i.e., one man's wife with "another man" .

I think it's okay for a deceased husband's banked sperm to be inseminated into his widow provided she's not remarried. In cases where the husband is infertile, I think the couple should seriously consider adopting.

It is very wrong to have your wife get pregnant by another man.

This is the only reason given in the bible for an abortion.
---francis on 12/3/10
Scripture and verse if youplease, as I know of NO Scriptural for supporting abortion. Artificial insemination is not Biblical either, as it is a form of man playing "God." If we would rely on God for the things we have become so self-reliant, we wouldn't be sbmitting to these things. Remember what happened when Abram and Sarai tried to help God with His promise of a seed to them?

Wrong, francis.

There's NOTHING in the Bible that says this, and I defy you to show it.
---Cluny on 12/4/10

a bit amusing to see modern day gentile christians use so much REASONING to OVERRIDE the actual sin with silly claims of no nudity or genital contact LOL

to have another mans sperm "medically" placed in a married womens womb for the purpose of having a baby that is not her spouses could only be JUSTIFIED by the reasoning of human minds and the GODS of medical science that will do anything to SELL there wares

True Christian married women would never place themselves in a situation that would have another mans sperm inside of her - whether by physical or man-made medical means

I believe that: sperm and egg donations are playing god

I must confess that I don't know the Full Story behind just WHY some couples are unable to conceive a baby naturally. Only the couples themselves, and GOD, really know the WHY part here.

If the reason for their infertility is SIN, then I would say that this playing god is likewise SIN.

On the other side of the coin, some couples might have medical reasons that are NOT the result of any sinful behavior. In these cases, I see no reason why this playing god would be wrong.

Still, whenever possible, using natural family planning, and conception, is the BEST option. GOD gives us the ability to choose to do things HIS way.

How is donor sperm collected, Ross?
---Cluny on 12/4/10

Everthing man does today is against nature. Man is playing God through the use of the laboratory. Man depends too much on today's medical and technological miracles to achieve their selfish desires instead of having faith in God's miracles.

In Old Testament Israel, sperm donation was the law for wives who lost their husbands. The brother of the husband who died did the donation and there even was contact.
---obewan on 12/3/10

I'm neither for or against it, only God can provide the life force that makes the life and so the physical part is just stuff until God does his work.
