John 14:2,3

In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also.

Why does He have to come back and get us if we go there at death?

John 5:28,29

Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,And shall come forth, they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life, and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

How are they in heaven when they are called from the grave?

How do YOU know what spirits need, jerry?

Did it ever occur to you they are SPIRITUAL mansions?

I guess not.

Glory to Jesus Christ!

The silly songs like, build my cabin in the corner of glory land, build my mansion nxt door to Jesus etc kind of songs Is Carnal mindedness, doesn't know God or His Word. These kind of songs comes from those of manmade trinity doctrines n commandments of men with their ideology theology etc. Is Foolishness in The Eyes of God & He hash Nothing to do with.

The mansions Are, those that have received The salvation of God, Acts 2 v 38, Matt. 24 v 13.

1 John 3:2
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

Jesus today is Not a Spirit. He will be coming back..called the 2nd Coming, and sit upon the throne of David and reign and rule for 1000 years.

The same Jesus that ascended into Heaven,....acts 1:11 is the same Jesus that will come again. Every eye shall see Him.

The Bible says WE, His body,The Church will be like Him. We will have Glorified BODIES as does He.

Can you tell us what they DO need?
And how do you know what they do and don't need?

Spirit = breath
So what type of room would you build to hold a breath?

Genesis 2:7 and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life
Ecclesiastes 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

According to the bible, the breath / spirit is placed in the nostrils.

Genesis 7:22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.
Job 27:3 All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils,

So cluny your question is not so clever after all.

Cluny, that was a great question you put to Jerry. I cannot wait to hear what his answer is going to be. He must have some insight to things others don't. New revelation.

The word translated mansions in John 14:2 is translated dwelling places, and forms of abide throughout John 14. Jesus was telling His diciples that he was preparing a place of authority and relationship with His Father, which becomes our Father. He was talking about a position with the Father, the same position He now holds, only now we hold with Him. "So where I am, you will be also"

Because most of the mansions that represent him on earth are in reality demons that operate in them. They always want to rule over the less fortunate. The true mansion is in heaven.

jerry, you said that spirits don't need rooms.

Can you tell us what they DO need?

And how do you know what they do and don't need?

\\And why will he "John 14:3 come again, and receive you unto myself

If you go to heaven when you die why is he coming to receive you?
---francis on 12/20/10\\

I believe that, one way or the other, Jesus comes for us all when we die.

For some, He comes as Friend and Savior.

For others, He comes as Judge.

This something entirely different from His coming after the Tribulation when "every eye shall see Him."
---Cluny on 12/20/10

Jerry,How do you know spirits do not need rooms??
What form does spirits have?Do we enter heaven as a complete spirit ?
---earl on 12/20/10

Jesus said the graves would be opened...what they put in caskets has no spirit, that's how it got there. There will be a resurrection for everyone who ever lived, and those that yet live will be changed.
---Pharisee on 12/20/10

Jesus Said that we would be like Him & in Revelations He tells us what He looks like. He has a face, hair, eyes, feet... sounds like a body to me. I'm sure we'll have perfect bodies in Heaven.
---Reba on 12/20/10

It's just a figure of speech for our finite minds. We are flesh and unless born of the Spirit we will have a problem understanding and believing in God's promise. Jesus uses the physical things of this world (which He created) to tell us about the Spiritual parallel. In short, eternal life with Jesus will be the most beautiful thing that He has given to mankind.

"If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?" John 3:12

We will not inhabit Heaven as bodiless spirits. We will have a body like Jesus'.

The word pictures in the bible that are used to describe Heaven cannot even begin to allow us to understand what awaits us there. It is like giving a dog a bone and trying to make him understand where the bone came from. All he knows it is good and his master is the source. So it is with eternity. For the Christian, it is good and God is the source. Beyond that it is simply beyond our comprehension.

1 Corinthians 2:9, "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him."

I'm not exactly sure WHAT we will need in heaven during that intermediate state between our deaths and the general resurrection.

Whatever it will be, Jesus has provided it.

That's all you and I need to know, jerry.
