Dee Dee: you wrote, ..he will bring the weight of the world on your shoulders and expect you to embrace it. Your description of God in this way must have come from a very limited understanding of God. God does the larger part of any responsibility given to us, HE only needs our obedience to compliment HIS will on earth. God has given control of the earth in human hand(HIS image) & in HIS humility influences things on earth thro human-beings. Take example of Moses who 1 time complained that God placed so much on him. Did Moses prevent Pharaohs army from reaching them? Did Moses open the Red Sea? Did Moses provide Manna? Did Moses provide quails? Did Moses provide water in the desert?

But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.
Psalm 10:4
The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

Psalm 12:8

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

There is no such thing as "just" unrepentant people, but instead "unrepentant people". And yes, they are the wicked.
---Eloy on 9/20/11

mike, I don't know what your grip is with God, but you sure are not speaking for genuine Christians. I was not being crafty. I was telling her the truth. I'm not a pastor and many who answer here are not either. Your words against what God demands from us are false. They are you own words. You even said your relationship with someone failed because of what others teach, and if you had studied God's Word you would have known it was bad advice. You don't want to take responsibility. It failed because of you. Stop blaming God and His ways because of your bias ideas. Submit your life to Christ.

dee dee

I understand what you are going through. you are told to obey the bible - to deny self, work sacrifice, be a door mat, martyr bec. just loving yourself is A SIN. and then you see pastors living a luxurious life. what hypocrisy. then they blame & accuse you of lack of faith when you fail. SEE how crafty they are. they know how to 'wash' their hands bec. they failed the right teachings.

1 Corinthians 10:13
"No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man, but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the WAY OF ESCAPE, that you may be able to bear it."

The WAY OF ESCAPE is God's word. Search the scriptures and you'll find your faith will grow.

Satan attacks us to try to destroy us. But it's these trials that can make us grow.

James1:3-4 "knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing"
---Haz27 on 9/16/11

Dee Dee, I'm so very sorry that you are so wounded, but satan is the author of those wounds, not God.

Satan does to people exactly what you described what has happened to you. ALL BAD STUFF.

What are you exhausted, confused and hopeless about? Life? satan is the prince of the power of the air and he prowls about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour and I think he's got his hooks into did that happen Dee Dee?

The devil has you blaming God.

You shall know the truth Dee Dee and the Truth (Jesus Christ) will set you free from your wrongful and erroneous thoughts and mind-sets.

Oh Dee Dee, you need a revelation of who God TRULY is, who He says He is in His word. The weight that you speak of comes from attempting to carry the burdens ourselves. we cannot earn our salvation, or favor with God through good works, rather,Matt 11:29-30"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Who does Jesus Christ say He is? He is God, come in the flesh, crucified and died, paying the penalty or wages of our sin in our place, risen by the Power of the Holy Spirit, that we might have life everlasting, WITH HIM. How great a love is this?

WHo does God refer to as the wicked, ISrael or the gentile nations who donot know God?
---Francis on 9/15/11

All mankind sins ..the unbelievers are wicked

once a person repents for their past sins and converted by baptism to follow Christ then The Father in Heaven no longer considers them a sinner (wicked) Isa 55:6-7, 1John 3:22

many claim they are converted yet still live a life of sin and eventually fall back into their wicked ways 1John 1:6

...however GOD understands we are not perfect in this life and we will still sin - which is the purpose of a true Christian is overcoming self, sin, and the world of this god to be in Gods Kingdom when Christ returns to rule earth in the millennium
---Rhonda on 9/15/11

Basically, God llikes to play with people's hearts and minds. He expects you to give up everything for him, pray, worship and then when you're exhausted, confused and hopeless, he will bring the weight of the world on your shoulders and expect you to embrace it. We are all wicked, he doesn't love me anymore than he loves you. God can't help the poor, he is too busy making sure that the evil can prosper. I can prove it-look at how Christians suffer and how athiests are fulfilled.

///The wicked are those who know the law and will of God and refuse to do it
---Francis on 9/15/11////

Francis, then you're describing Jonah, and I don't think it was wicked of him to refuse God's will for his life, he was scared to go and tell the people they were sinners. Who wouldn't be?

God swallowed him up in the belly of a whale and eventually got Jonah to do His will, right? So that's not a good definition of the wicked, amen?

To me, the wicked are those though created well & properly by God but have allowed the devil & his evil ideas to control/dominate their lives. They live on ungodly things and actions. They do not care for the Word of God nor HIS Spirit's leading.
---Adetunji on 9/15/11

tom2 - I think the wicked goes deeper than that. Could it be people who won't turn away from their sins? Even if they are witnessed to?

Leon, I think you're forgetting there are those of us who have REPENTED for our sins and received the sacrifice Jesus made for our "all of us" doesn't include those of us who have REPENTED and received the sacrifice Jesus made for us.

I honestly don't know WHO the wicked are that the Old Testament scriptures are referring to.
---Donna5535 on 9/15/11

"...ALL [of us] have sinned [done wickedly], and come short of the glory of God..." Ro. 3:23 That's why the Righteousness of God, the Lord Jesus, had to come, die, and be resurrected to redeem us from our wickedness.
