Elder, I have been stricken myself a few times of "Eloyism " but I try to catch it before I post it!
We must be kind to all people remembering that half the world is below average!
(The "other" half, that is)
---1st_cliff on 9/29/11

Cliff you don't have any evidence that they did not cook that 4th pig leg. You are spreading falsehoods. Tradition of the times says that they did cook that part of the pig. Do not address me until you are willing accept that truth........ Ugh... Sorry Cliff, I didn't mean that. I was having a little touch of Eloy there for a moment. Whew, I'm glad that's over.....
---Elder on 9/29/11

I don't know about that Elder.
There was this farmer who's pig won all the ribbons at the local fair:
People dropped by to see this champion pig "How come he only has 3 legs?" one onlooker said.
The farmer replied "He's a champion, you don't think we'ed eat him all at once do you?"
---1st_cliff on 9/28/11

"Kinda like a pork chop at a Jewish wedding!"
Cliff the only difference is that no where does a Pork Chop get eaten alive. That is not so here sometimes.
---Elder on 9/28/11

I know I'll never win a popularity contest,never have!
Kinda like a pork chop at a Jewish wedding!
Sometimes the debates are very enlightening, sometimes ugly...good cross-section of believers tho.
---1st_cliff on 9/26/11

Rocky is sounding mysteriously like Barack Obama, who claims to be a christian, yet praises the religion of Islam and their beliefs while scoffing Christian beliefs.
---Jed on 9/21/11

Kneeling at his worldly masters a couple of other sheepy looking wolf pups. Defensively up to date on poser....unless it is scripturally negative.

The boy is confused by the world around him. Pulled one way then another. Been there, recognize it easily.

Job 30:1
But now they that are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I would have disdained to have set with the dogs of my flock.

Christan, I said what I did so that you would the reason I myself answered this blog was because James used my name.
I love what you say, and as I said before, I have not found anything you say wrong. I can tell you study a lot. I wanted to say that you are welcome to correct me if I'm wrong on something. I can learn a lot from you for the glory of God. I'm glad you are on line. Some of those who knew a lot have moved on. Blessings to you brother and peace.
---Mark_V. on 9/22/11

Peace be with you, MarkV. My only reply in this particular blog was not referring to you but to Paul, so I do not understand what you are trying to say to me.

As for the others who only want to be recognize by their fellow man, I do not really care because Jesus declared, "they have their reward". What's important is we stand by the Truth and if one twist and turn the Truth, they are merely doing what the Lord has purposed for them to do and no matter what we say, it's never going to change their hearts. ONLY God can change our hearts to love Him.

And Jesus did declare, "And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet."
---christan on 9/22/11

thanks for the update about you son's game. Bless you, brother.
---James_L on 9/19/11

Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.

For I know nothing by myself, yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.
Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
---TheSeg on 9/19/11

I addressed Christian not as an answer to a participating anylitacal statment but as a typical accusation, as you said he is not participating in this activity.

What makes you think I dont judge my own deeds, rest assured I do.
---paul on 9/19/11

paul, now you know for sure what you need to give to the Lord. Yourself. play by the rules of your own blog question.

christan/christian did not enter his/her name into your challenge.

"trick is that you can't answer, only receive with a desire to self reflect"

remove self from the picture and you will truly begin to reflect. selah.

Thirdly, A Pastors job in the Church (not here) is to evaluate the sheep for potential problems to head them off at the pass.

Much like Jesus did .....
---paul on 9/17/11

You evaluate everyone but yourself. Hmmmm. Quite a job you got there.

You are not Jesus. Or a High Priest.

Jeremiah 23:1
Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.

33 And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying, What is the burden of the LORD? thou shalt then say unto them, What burden? I will even forsake you, saith the LORD.

Brother Christan, thank you so much for your answers. I only answered because my name was posted, asking what I would say of myself. Otherwise I was trying to avoid answering this question. I'm very well aware you teach very good brother and I want you to know that any time, I put something you see as wrong, please correct me. I will check for myself if you provide the passage. I want to make sure I'm right for the glory of God. Peace I leave you.

For someone who claims to be a pastor/preacher/minister, it's rather disturbing that you are into the business of psycho-analyzing people's performance. For what?
---christan on 9/17/11

First of all this is completely voluntary and for those who desire to have others perceptions of them to help them grow.

Secondly, I am a participant in a greater overall evaluation and not passing out self righteous judgments of others unilaterally.

Thirdly, A Pastors job in the Church (not here) is to evaluate the sheep for potential problems to head them off at the pass.

Much like Jesus did with Peter when He rebuked him and warned him that satan desired to sift him as wheat.

---paul on 9/17/11

Well, I say, I will see you all in heaven!
No, matter what you think, say or do!

Joh_17:26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

Act 13:40 Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets,
Act 13:41 Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.
Act 13:42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.

God bless you!

//How does this edify a fellow Christian?//

feedback (good or bad) based on another's observations (right or wrong) instead of incessant pounding on the pulpit or glibly smiling in my face is always edifying.

//Did Jesus Christ analyze the performance of His apostles?// Yes. it is part of discernment.

Paul said analyze, and not psycho-analyze. there is a difference.

When one becomes a disciple of Christ, our Lord and Savior has left us instructions that are far more important than your personal issue. ---christan on 9/17/11

the second greatest instruction (much like the first) was to consider another's personal issues.

Did Jesus Christ analyze the performance of His apostles?

"Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few, Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest." Matthew 9:37,38

So who are you labouring for? When one becomes a disciple of Christ, our Lord and Savior has left us instructions that are far more important than your personal issue.

Yes, we should always consider maybe that we err, and validity of other positions.

I have done that over and over.

First an Arminian, then a 5-point Calvinist, then a Free Grace Dispensationalist. Always considering opposing views, I could see error in what I currently embraced.

When I first started considering context and Greek in the NT, I could not find agreement in any commentaries or such, and it made me almost sick. I talked with a friend and he asked me a sobering quesition.

"If you're correct, but can't find any agreement, that means everyone else in the whole world is wrong but you?"

Sobering indeed
---James_L on 9/17/11

James, you said,
"What do you think Warwick and Scott would say "of each other?" Then you added my name and Kathr. I'm glad you did not say "of the other"
I'm here is to learn, defend the faith, speak from a God centered point of view in Scripture.
I'm not here to defend a denomination, a perticular church, or to make friends. I believe all believers should already love each other. If someone condemn's me as unsave, stalks me, call's me names or makes lies about me on something I did not say, they do not love me. Pretty simple to me.
Genuine believers listen to the Truth. They check what is said, and make every effort to be right for the glory of God. Not for their own glory and pride.
---Mark_V. on 9/17/11

James 2: I myself analyze most everyone's answers. I read the passages they give, use every method I can to find the context and meaning God wanted to convey, and if I happen to be wrong, I admit I'm wrong not only to myself but to the person who brought it up, for I want to make sure that what I teach is not wrong, not for my glory, but for the glory of Christ, because I know, that only the Truth can help others.
If it is a personal question, I give my opinion as to my experience. I hate no one, I love and pray for everyone on line. For their physical, spiritual, and strength so that they can get through the circumstance they are in. I hope I answered the question you put out to others concerning me.
---Mark_V. on 9/17/11

Well, we are real people, not just what we write here. I write what has been for my own correction. It does not necessarily represent how I really am! (c: but how I understand God is able to correct and cure us to become in His love.

And I appreciate how ones have seen me the way I really am and have helped me to do better at being honest and loving all people.

So, it is fine with me for you to encourage me about what is good and point out however you see I need to do better. I have been surprised at how people can be right. God is able to have you see the truth (c:

Francis, I like your forthrightness on issues. I may not agree with you a lot, but I see honesty in your heart.

Rocky and Nurse Robert seem well balanced and objective, rational and polite.

Paul, you seem personally invested, from the heart. I know it gets heated, and you check your approach many times, which is admirable.

Your thoughts are provocative, and original. I have learned from your style prodding me to look further into scripture. Write me. I forgot your penpal name, and want to send you a message. jamea3384

I truly believe you are a representative for Christ in the manner of genuine concern for the growth of yourself and others.
And not in a get your way kind of technique but in a reason it out kind of way.

I feel you are educated in the ways of your particular brand of religion with not much tolerance for others viewpoints.
But I believe that you believe it to be the truth and you will not move from it which is commendable.

You always seem like a pleasant individual going along and contributing where you can in a peaceful but yet informative way.

---KarenD on 9/15/11 thanks for the input, but I don't follow human beings. I do sometimes quote what they say if it lines up with the word of God.

I have the GIFT of Faith so maybe that's what you're seeing.

Obedience to the Lord and His Word brings blessings and if I was following a human being, there's no way God would be pouring all kinds of supernatural blessings into my life-He shocks me with the supernatural things He does for me.

When I am in error, the Holy Spirit will show me. He has a way of humbling us without humiliating us.

I think you could be hearing the Gift of Faith since you don't know me in personal friends will tell you of my passionate love for Lord Jesus, Father God and Holy Spirit.

Paul, I have found you interesting to listen to. You are thoughtful and listen to others.

Aka.. you and I are more alike than we think.

Francis, you and I will probably never agree, but at least you try to back up your beliefs.

Actually, with few exceptions, I have learned a lot from most people who post on this blog.
---NurseRobert on 9/15/11

Donna5535....I have always found you to be an uplifting person and have never seen negative comments from you. I also see a lot of Word of Faith in your comments which is not always a good thing. Word of Faith followers tend to put a lot of emphasis on following a human being rather than Jesus.

paul, back in 1983 the Lord Jesus appeared to me in a dream. He showed me what to do at my next bible study (I was a baby christian back then).

I was to ask each person to write their name on a piece of paper and put it in a bowl and then have each person pick a name and they had to say 3 nice things about that person...EVERYONE got blessed that night...the next day everyone was coming up to me and telling me how encouraging it was to them to do that.

I believe we as the Body of Christ should uplift and encourage one another and never "judge" them or even analyze them...let that to the Holy Spirit. I don't want to play Holy Ghost Junior and neither should you or anyone else here unless of course Jesus told you to do so.
---Donna5535 on 9/15/11

one thing that i notice about you is that you have tendency to slightly change parameters just as you did in the first post.

if you truly want to grow, it is in your silence (no matter how brutal the beating) that shows the Truth.

remember, that is what Jesus Christ did for His own. "If at all possible, Take this cup from me. Nevertheless, Your will and not mine."

paul, join your own challenge without equivocation.

I will choose to sign this as myself, others may choose otherwise.

I have found you to be a very upfront and personable individual from what interactions I have seen you in as well as our few encounters.

I dont know much about you, but what I do know you seem to be commonsensical and cordial in your dealings with concern about how you come, very commendable trait across.

You are very consistent and honest in your answers even when it means it could make you look like a bad guy. I always stop on a post when I see your name on it.

Thanks for all your contributions.

I thought the "helpful blogger" votes were peer analyzation.

But seriously, it would all be subjective.

Most in overall agreement would probably think very highly, and portray us as a very level-headed, honest, and think we have everyone's best interest at heart.

Most in overall disagreement would probably think we are eradic and gullible, or that we are wolves in sheep's clothing.

Very few can be very objective.

What do you think Warwick and Scott would say of each other?

Or MarkV and Kathr4453?

What do Trav and Paul think of each other?

What about Cluny and Eloy? or Cluny and John? or Cluny and....well, you get the idea.
