Trish, Thanking God for your good news, especially I am so grateful for God's strength and provision for me.
I know well how difficult it is to have to depend upon the help of others to take care of basic necessities, very humbling. Ultimately, God is the provider of course..Praying you continue to heal well and are blessed mightily of Him.

I for one, am sad to think you'd leave CN. You may not even read this, but God bless you, you've been a blessing as far as I'm concerned

Praise the Lord. I got my stitches out on Friday, and was able to start driving again. I am so grateful for this, because I was unable to purchase groceries, or drive to church or AA meetings. Not everyone was willing to drive me to these places. I am so grateful for God's strength and provision for me.

Rom 1:14 I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians, both to the wise, and to the unwise.

thank you, all...i'm out.

Trish, "God knows what we need even when we don't." Very true. I am happy to hear you are recuperating, and especially being blessed through study,

LUKE 4 (Words of The Christ)
"I assure you that there were many widows in Israel in Elijahs time, when the sky was shut for three and a half years and there was a severe famine throughout the land. Yet Elijah was not sent to any of them, but to a widow in Zarephath in the region of Sidon. And there were many in Israel with leprosy in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansedonly Naaman the Syrian.

"My Grace is sufficent for you!"

God continues to bless and challenge me as I recuperate from the toe surgery two weeks ago. I get my stitches out on Thursday, and then I will be able to drive.

I am continually blown away by the Ladies Bible Study I participate in. We are studying Jonah, using a study by a wonderful Christian teacher of the Word, Priscilla Shirer. I once saw her speak at a retreat center that the ladies from my church went to. Anyway, I never dreamed I could learn so much from the book of Jonah. What is the really neat thing is, every day of homework I am getting hit right where I live. God knows what we need even when we don't.

Thank you Darlene, and everyone else. God has given me a smooth recuperation. The pain has lessened, and is not as severe as my previous surgery in March.

I see the doctor today, to have him check the wounds, and rewrap the bandage. Hopefully, all will be well inside the bandage.

Thanks again.

God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good.

---Darlene_1 on 10/10/11

Trish, will keep you in prayer. Also, glad you have a fellowship where you can encourage one another. I've been going to a church that's a bit of a drive and would like a bible study closer to home.
Elena, very glad you are praying and waiting on God, desiring to put Him first. (me too). You said you know God is leading you in another direction. Thats a good thing, and I could say the same, although I may not see many of the specifics, I know the status quo is not where we should be. Keep praising Him and rejoicing!

I would appreciate prayer for quick recuperation.

1.What was the name of the shepherd in Luke 15?
2.What was the name of the prodigal son, his father, or his brothers in Luke 15
....parables likely did not ....represent any person or real event.
---Rocky on 10/5/11

Parables are about real people.....that recognized themselves.
1. The Shepherd is Christ.
Matt 15:24
But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

2. The prodigal son is the Nothern House of Israel. Father is GOD. His brother is Judah.

Eze 37:22 I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel, one king shall be king to them all: they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all.

Poppa Bear, thank you for your prayers,I will pray for your wife too. I'm glad you did get over yours. Yes I know about cluster headaches, but I will read up on them again, however, mine were named by doctors after testing me. The tension headaches began after I banged my head in car wreak and had a concussion. The migraine began due to a rebound effect of vicodin. For me many times one type headache will also trigger the other kind. God Bless

Darlene, have you read up on cluster headaches? They are rare, but I suffered from them after I was shot in the head as a teenager until I was about 30, but once I was treated for them I never had them again. Either way I will keep you in my prayers. My wife is in the ER about 2 times a month for headaches so I can understand the frustration and stress they can cause.

Trish that sounds great. I learned and grew spiritually more in a small Bible study group with women than I think almost any other time. There is something about being with people who know exactly what you are going through and can relate with loving compassion is a wonderful medicine for the soul too. Trish I need prayer badly,I am having migraane and/or tension headaches almost every day and my medicine helps but it doesn't really stop them. They hurt so bad I have to go to bed trying to get relief. Please pray for my friend whose immune system has attacked trying to destroy her own blood. Shes on 8 medicines and has gained 70 lbs, terrible pain.
---Darlene_1 on 10/4/11

Keep it up Trish, grow in His word and it will sustain you like nothing else in this world, the knowledge of our Lord is a shining light of comfort in this often cold dark foreign land. To the other poster, when I was 21 I was an inmate and it was just more than a visit from my side of the table, it was a great encouragement to be able to fellowship with people who had a heart to pray for me and help me to grow in the scriptures, not to mention learning wonderful hymns that have helped to minister to me over the years. A great help for me was receiving sound reading material that was foundational and fundamental. If you would like any suggestions let me know.

Blessed here as well. My Pastor was honored today by our Church for 40 years of service. The Governor, Mayer and two Senators had personal testimonies that testified to his faithful leadership. Franklin Graham flew in from London to speak and Ravi Zacharias sent him a thank you message as well. It was pretty amazing to witness his faithfulness and how it has impacted our city as well as many other parts of the world. In our city he has started 4 Christian radio/TV stations, a Christian school and taken fearless stands to stand for the Bible/marriage/military/family/poor and thousands have came to Christ through his preaching of a simple Gospel message anointed with the power of the Holy Spirit.

Trish, I wish I knew what you looked like this way I would have maybe seen you at the game. I watched the game and they showed a lot of shots of the fans. I'm so happy you went with your son. That was so nice of him to take you. Those moments a person never forgets, blessing to you Trish.

I am extremely blessed. My older son got free tickets to see the Philadelphia Eagles today. He could have taken anyone, but he took me. I am honored that he is to thoughtful of me. While the Eagles lost, I had a nice day with a son I don't get to see too often.
