My friend and Sister-in-Christ,Mary,passed out last night at a Cafe and had a heart beat of 45. She was rushed to emergency and admitted to the hospital. Please pray for her healing and that there is no serious or lasting problem. God Bless

Happy Thanksgiving Day to all.
---Rod4Him on 11/24/11

Happy Thanksgiven Day to everyone on line, all the brothers and sisters from CN also. Please keep safe while traveling to meet family. To those that are lonely at this time of year, know that Christ is with you no matter the circumstances. Praying for all of you who are sick, and in need of prayer. Peace I leave you.
---Mark_V. on 11/22/11

I am looking forward to a quiet Thanksgiving at my sis-in-law's house. It will just be her, her kids, and me. My kids can't make it this year. My son will be having dinner with his wife at his in-laws in St. Louis. I just got home from a week with the grandchildren. My younger son was home to bury his best friend, and can't get back here till Christmas. I have many blessings to be thankful for, though.
---Trish on 11/22/11

Here we are again with Thanksgiving knocking on the door and about to come in. I hope all will have a wonderful time and many blessings. I will begin cooking today for it and need your prayers as it is hard for me to stand very long with the pain I'm in. I'm blessed with a husband who does all he can to carry most of the work load but there are just some things I have to do too, plus I don't want to put more on him than I have to. So please pray for me,my husband, and my 93 year old Mama she is going to travel the hour with us to get to where we have dinner, the Deer Camp. God Bless You all. Thanks so much.

Poppa Bear, I hope you don't mind for me to repeat what you said on the other blog "was there people before Adam?"
I have pondered on the question I ask you. But you are correct and great words you said concerning temptation, or sin. We would have never known the Love of Christ if there was no sin. The attributes of God would have never been known by us. In order to have life, there needs to be death. In order for us to see the righteousness of God there has to be unrighteousness, for mercy there has to be wrath. Sin needed to be included in the plan. It could have never come into the scene without God allowing it or permitting it.
---Mark_V. on 11/22/11

Poppa Bear said
"GOOD question! I am sure that the devil brought the reality of temptation, deception and sin to the garden and to Adam and Eve from our human point of view. From Gods point of view, may hap He allowed things to play out the way they did because He knew that the plan of redemption would reveal His Glory and love on a whole different level that we wont understand until that glorious day. Without temptation can there even be real righteousness? Without overcoming death can there be real victory, without forgiveness can we understand Gods loving sacrifice of His Son to uphold his Justice and reveal His grace both at the same time? Oh the depths and mysteries of Gods ways, could man invent such a Dnouement?"
---Mark_V. on 11/21/11

John, good point. Some do believe they are telling the truth but are not. To them it feels like the truth, smells like the truth but it doesn't come close to been the Truth. Some just have evil coming out of their mouths and they cannot help themselves in order to stop. They need a supernatural act of God to change their hearts, so that godly words come out of their mouths.
---Mark_V. on 11/19/11

It's okay to lie as long as you think you're telling the truth.
---John.usa on 11/18/11

There is many times when people disagree with us. It does not mean they are lying. It means many times they interpret something in Scripture differently. When people lie is when they say you said something you never said to attack you in front of everyone. It then becomes personal because you disagreed with their answer and they get their feelings hurt. There is many opinions, interpretations, and many who believe differently here. If someone attacks me, I respond to the person. We should never be affraid to respond when someone gets personal and attacks you. But our goal is to present the Truth.
---Mark_V. on 11/18/11

kathr4453 //is truth based on a majority vote?

While truth is not always the majority position, it is usually the minority position that is rejected largely because it has the least defense either in scripture or in church history.
I pity the poor simpleton that believes the minority position always has to be the correct one.
---lee1538 on 11/17/11

Agree with you Lee when simpleton does not have scriptural witnesses as pointed out.
A fact though that GOD disproves majority with a singular person....much. The irony. Singular faith of Abraham,Noah,Moses,Samsom. David. Jeremiah, etc, etc, etc. All of ridiculed and deemed crazy by a majority.
If the majority is accepting begs a Berean test.
---Trav on 11/18/11

Why do Christians on this site so often resort to such lies and deceit?
Do some Christians think lying is OK? Or do they just not understand that they are lying. ---Rocky on 11/4/11

If you have proven a call them Christians? Call it as it is.....with witnesses supporting. If they hold balaam's doctrines or go against OT prophets...are they Christians? Walk away from em. Post for a sheep.
Psalm 119:69
The proud have forged a lie against me: but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart.
Psa 101:7
He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.
Prov 6:19
A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
---Trav on 11/17/11

The Sabbath merely foreshadowed that rest of God, those who believe in Christ would enter into.

Hebews 4:3 For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said, As I swore in my wrath,They shall not enter my rest, although his works were finished from the foundation of the world.

Jews were careful to observe the Sabbath, they failed to enter into God's rest because of unbelief.

(4:8-10) For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day. So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered Gods rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.

And what is that 'another day' He speaks of but the day we believe and rest in His finished work?
---lee1538 on 11/16/11

That's why God's 7th day has not ended yet because 1. we have not got there yet and, 2. God hasn't said 'and there WAS evening and morning... a 7th day'.
Paul understood God's 'day of rest' meant more than a 24 hour rest period for the Almighty!- Heb.4:10.
---David8318 on 11/14/11

Interesting David. Hard doing the Berean thing these days. Keep searching, there is pearl in the field I've heard.
Acts 17:11
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
Some are satisfied and possibly defend another way.
Obadiah 1:6
How are the things of Esau searched out! how are his hidden things sought up!

Shira I read the crime report for here yesterday and there have been 14 murders here this year. I really think playing so many violent games blurs the line between reality and games, that it hardens them to murder and violence.

John,I have never been a Pastor but have been a leader in Christian groups so I have a little experience. No matter how much you know, how wise you are,and so on,hold your peace. The Bible teaches James 1:19 My dear brothers, take note of this,Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry,-. Be silent visiting,be Holy and prayed up where you do minister. As you let God be the only move upon you and not your own will, you build a good reputation. Your gift will make a way for you and others will ask you to speak or your opinion, etc. We are vessels of God,made for his use,in his time,in his will,in his way. What God does through you will be accepted and what you do from yourself will more often than not be rejected.
---Darlene_1 on 11/13/11

Thanks Poppa Bear, that does help. Good advice.
In real life(unlike Blogs) I am not confrontational, but very humble. I just don't know how much to add to a bible study that is being lead by someone else. Even if that person is not a pastor. Sometimes they're lead by an Elder. I may have a lot to add or say on a subject, but I don't want to take over the study either.

I guess it's a judgement call as to how much to say without being overbearing.
---John on 11/13/11

Hi,Family, my heart hurts read'n bout the violence/gangs.. all over...I will be praying for everyone involved and for all my people on here & God knows everyone altho' I do not.. yes, myself, have had bullets "fly" over my head one time just go out my apt. retrieve the mail... live in large city..always pray everytime go out my door & thank Heavenly Father,Jesus..Holy Spirit... straightway get inside..
---ELENA on 11/13/11

John, those are good questions. I think the most important thing to keep at the forefront of your mind is to speak in love, your attitude, and demeanor and so on. For myself, I like to just fellowship and get a feel for the level of bible knowledge and the teaching methods. Some Pastors have a precise lesson plan that is full of rhetorical questions that he has a set answer for, while others are open for discussion. Some studies may have members who know more than the Pastor, but still allow the Pastor to lead at his pace. Try not to major on the minors if a mistake is made by the Pastor, but if your Spirit is strongly leading you to make a correction, or state your position than perhaps you should.
Hope this helps some, In His grip

Send a Free Witness Tract

When you're at another church bible study lead by their pastor. How should you behave?

1) Remain silent(give light comments)since you are a guess at someone's house.

2)Add historical/cultural comments to enhance his teachings(may offend).

3) Answer a question by one of the his church members he did not know the answer to. (May offend the pastor, but may be G-ds will.)

4) Correct the pastor if he was wrong. Not theological differences, but something like a wrong date, or wrong quote or Book reference etc.(Could be offensive, but it may be G-ds will for you to correct this error.)

I just don't know how to act. Participate to the fullest, or just casually.

Shira your're welcome. I don't know if you have heard but they have arrested a 16 year old boy in that case,he admitted being there, not sure if he did it or if there were several there. This area has gotten so mean I don't even feel comfortable to be home alone and stay outside for long since theres only one house left on this block, rest are businesses. my prayer is that she is getting to know the real God and she does not spend hours reading mindless debate until she embraces the Truth.

darlene, thanks, it was in Killeen and the young man was mixed race. He was trying to get out of the gang. He told his mom he wanted out because he wanted to change his life. His dad was working in the middle east as a civilian. The young boys mom was overcome with grief, now she is mad and waging a campaign against gangs. She has given the police many names. She is also afraid for her own life now.

Shira was that in Killeen,Texas. If so,the paper said, the young man had told his mother there was going to be a war in Killeen, black on black. It is a terrible thing when life has so little value. His family and friends are really filled with grief and speaking about what a fine young man he was. Yes that family does need prayer. This is a terrible area,a few months ago there was a teenage girl shot standing in a front yard.

Poppa Bear,
"It is def a reminder that we need to lean on God no matter who we are, what we have and where we live." Very true! Im glad you see it that way, sadly many do not. "it was about 5 degrees. I could look forward to coming into a nice warm house, but some of the people on the coast dont have that comfort, as many of the homeless people up here dont either." "Prayers for people to find Jesus, courage, guidance, and provision in this situation would be a blessing for them and their worried families and friends" All in prayer. Overwhelmed with the thought of those homeless in such circumstances. Glad you are some distance from coast. Bless you.

Hello Mark, I seem to be beyond reach of the storm at this point. People on the coast are having a row of it. Its below 0 out there and roofs are being blown off, flooding and road closures. Prayers for people to find Jesus, courage, guidance, and provision in this situation would be a blessing for them and their worried families and friends.
I spent about 3 hours outside on my knees last night freezing, patching up my fencing for my dogs and it was about 5 degrees. I could look forward to coming into a nice warm house, but some of the people on the coast dont have that comfort, as many of the homeless people up here dont either.
Be blessed brother.

Yes Mark, I live in Alaska. It is a sometimes hard unforgiving land, but yet a majestic place that can require a lot of attention in order to thrive and be content. Many come up here to make a dollar and leave, while others take to the wild elements like a bear to the woods, LOL. I keep generators, food stores, fishing poles, axes and all that good stuff around because it is just that type of place. City life here is like other places, but if the lights go out, city people have a real hard time of it. If the trucks didnt bring food for 2 days up here it would be catastrophic for many who dont grasp our unique situation and distance from the continental US.

Francis//2) We Catholics.. frankly say, "Yes, the Church made this change, made this law, as she made many other laws,

What Adventists will ignore is WHEN did the Roman Church change the Jewish Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday.

If they were to exmaine this issue further, they will read that while the Roman Church may make this claim, they claim that all the early church fathers who they believe were Roman Catholics, did not teach Sabbath keeping but that the church outside of Judea always met on the first day of the week, the Lord's day.

The problem is that Adventists like to think of themselves as being "completed Jews" under a new covenant that was no more than a rehash of the Old.
