Church Member Is A Demon

I haven't had a dream about a demon since I started reading the bible and becoming more involved with my church but last night it was different. I had a dream about a person in our church as a demon. What do you guys think this means? Or maybe, as I was thinking, it doesn't mean anything.

Hello,Sag you make a good point! I had not thought 'bout that! Yes! I had recently ask for prayer (me & a sister from church )where I used to go,we got into a heated discussion,God is good! I kept pray'n to see her & ask her to forgive me. I had not had any sleep for 5 days & we both tired we argue about how at her church they used to treat me really bad..Etc.... Finally, got to ask her forgive me. 'still got Chemo in my system. She said she felt bad, too. I am just glad she forgave me. I was cry'n for a month.

Mary: I may indeed mean nothing, or it may actually carry a meaning.

I have a vague suspicion that we may tend to associate the idea of a demon more than we should, but we do of course know that demons are there.

Is there anyone in the church who can sit with you, and even between you and that person, and consider what this dream could really mean?

Aka, you reminded me of an experience my wife and I had. We had been married about a month and were taking care of a house for a family in southern Texas. When we went to sleep and turned the lights out, I woke up from a dream, it was not a cock-roach dream, but because I heard noises and turned on the light, and millions of giant roaches were on the walls and the floor. The light went on and they all ran. We left the house the next day. Another roach story but no dream, it was real.

i grew up in the deep south. there, you can jump on the back of a cock roach and ride it because they are so big. after a traumatic experience in my youth, i started to believe that once i turned my back to anyone, they turned into a big cockroach.

a few years ago, i turned quickly and in the mirror God allowed me to see who the big cockroach really was.

These things have caused ME to have bad dreams, or nightmares, about other people at church:

Unforgiveness towards them

They spread lies and/or gossip

I was hurt by their actions

Berated in front of the church or group

etc. etc. etc.

I need to take MY own advice here, but you should PRAY. Ask forgiveness, and forgive them too. You're only hurting yourself by allowing these dreams to persist in your mind. Whatever their source or cause.

Trish..Good answer!!!!

I think it means you need to read Philippians 4, where Paul tells us what we should be thinking about. Then, meditate on it. Don't spend time trying to analyze this dream. Meditate on the Word.

I know you want to think that you're special spiritually, but there is no significance to this dream other than what you think about this church member.

Glory to Jesus Christ!

It can mean that someone acting great in church is really a demonic person. But be careful where your attention goes. Jesus is giving you attention about what you need, yourself. So, is your attention being decoyed to someone else so you do not notice and deal with how you need to be corrected and improved in living God's love? Make sure you check yourself for anything that is demonic > see James 3:14-15 > "But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against th4e truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic." So, do not be gossiping in your mind, but attentive to submitting to our Father's correction and then how He rules us in His peace.

I agree dreams are not to be taken literally, by the way this is a different Mary lol :D

Mary, you said,

"or maybe, as I was thinking, it doesn't mean anything"

Take that one to the bank. Don't give darkness any room in you mind or your life whatsoever. Far too many people are always talking or thinking about demons, some make it their life to always concentrate on the demon world, when they should be talking and thinking about godly matters. I have lots of dreams and they are all made up from things we see or hear and they are somehow in our mind all put together as a story, but it is all just a dream. Nothing real. A person could consume his life with darkness more then the light. Every Christian should be aware of the enemy because if we don't, we will sin.

Mary dreams often have things in them that represent something else or relays a message. Think about this,I don't know if its correct but its possible,Demon to you is evil and not to be trusted. Maybe some action triggered in you that feeling that they weren't exactly what people thought. Cover it with prayer, pray for the person too,and ask God to remove or heal any evil, confussion,or bad intentions which may have come into your church. Pray until you get peace about the whole thing and pray for wisdom and discernment. God will help you with this. Give it to him he said the things done in the dark will be brought to the light. God's light shows many things,we otherwise can't see. Give it to the Lord don't let this be a burden or hinderance.

Dreams usually are the activity of our subconscious mind replaying and analyzing the experiences which we have encountered during our waking hours, in order to resolve the thoughts that we have about those people and things. People can be possessed by demons, and if you think that your dream is letting you know that that person is demon-possessed, then I would pray that they get saved.

Mary...Not meaning to be cruel, but are you taking your meds? That could do it.
---KarenD on 3/6/12

It may mean something, but not that the person is a demon.
