The kingdom of heaven is meant to operate on the earth.
Anyone who would desire greatness must defer to others, Not seek any superior position.

It is the condition of the heart which God takes notice of: in this Scripture, He talks of forgiveness. Those that are the most forgiving are the greatest of all men. This forgiveness must come from a right attitude of the heart. It comes from the living God. Does not mean that your enemies has been forgiven by God, it means you forgive, we forgive others of their trespasses, because God forgave us when He came to us and saved us. And we were once enemies of God, ourselves. In all of this, "I forgive you", that you hear SO MUCH today coming out of people's mouths, make sure that you have been forgiven by the living God through His Son's Blood.

The Government will be upon the shoulders of KING JESUS who is the rightful heir to the throne of David, born of the tribe of Judah where only those from Judah reigned as Kings.
1 Corinthians 15
25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

The positions of rulership in Gods government on earth will be appointed by the Lord.
Daniel 7:14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
Daniel 7:18 But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.
Daniel 7:27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

Zechariah 14:16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain, there shall be the plague, wherewith the Lord will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
---kathr4453 on 10/1/12|
There are many aspects and MYSTERIES of the Kingdom of Heaven, Kingdom of God.
Matthew is talking about the earthly Kingdom when we see in Zechariah 12-14 Jesus himself will come, second Coming, in all His Glory and be King in all teh earth. Now if you read to the end, you will see a warnig to Egypt or any nation who refuses to come up to Jerusalem and worship the King. The consequences are that they will have their water cut off.
That doesn't sound like HEAVEN TO ME. Because in Heaven NO disobedience or even a warning for disobedience is possible. And we will not be keeping and fiests of tabernacles in teh New Heaven and earth.
This has to do with position and responsibility in the earthly Kingdom Reign.

Zechariah 14:9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.
Isaiah 9:6-7 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it (Gods Kingdom) with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

The Lord Jesus was the messenger telling of the future ruling of Gods government on earth
Matthew 25:23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant, thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things:
Jude 1:14-15 "And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all,"
When the armies in heaven come with the Lord to earth he will strike down the governments of this world rule them with a rod of iron and establish Gods government on earth

"Seriously? God has His own "government" in His Kingdom?"
Where there is a king, there is a kingdom.
Where there is a kingdom, there are rules.
Where there are rules, there are those who administer them, rulers.
Mt 19:28 And Jesus said unto them...in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
His return is as Judge and King, a time of terror and upheaval. Not pleasant at all for most.
You err to believe otherwise.
Ac 1:11 Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Christan, when I heard follower the first time, I knew he was preaching another Jesus right from the Start. I called him "follower of another Jesus" then I toned it down. I thought that I had made my point. But you are absolutely correct, the wrong Jesus, then there is no Truth period. For Christ is the Truth. We should never back down or compromise the Truth for a lie. Thank you brother, you are right. Peace I leave you.
---Mark_V. on 9/29/12|
Mt3:1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
Mt3:2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Mr1:14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
Mr1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
Please note the phrase "at hand". It is my belief that the Kingdom of Heaven and Kingdom of God are one and the same.
---trey on 9/28/12|
MarkV, you are indeed being kind to Follower when you said, "While many of the things he says are true...". Learn from Christ, half-truth is no truth at all.
For Christ rebuked the Jews, "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it." John 8:44
Even satan used Scriptures while tempting Christ, but was he speaking with truth? NO!
We have the Spirit within us, so we must speak with boldness. Emotions of others must never be an issue when speaking the Gospel Truth. Jesus showed us.
---christan on 9/28/12|
Christan, I mentioned the same thing to Follower. It is another Christ he is talking about. He has a Christ who was created, equal to satan. While many of the things he says are true, he mixes truth and error. I do not use FOC but just Follower. His doctrines have to be connected to E.G White, Charles Russell, or John Smith.

"The government of God will rule the earth..." FOC
Seriously? God has His own "government" in His Kingdom? I do know that the leaders and governments of this world were created and appointed by God Almighty (Romans 13) but in His Kingdom, there's government too?
As it is, God Almighty is already the ruler of both heaven and earth, with or without you and mankind. You still think that He's going to come back to rule the earth? Better go read the Scripture again. Because the next time Jesus Christ returns - it's Judgement Day or as Peter calls, the Day of the Lord. The earth and everything in it will be destroyed!
And you day call yourself FOC? Most definitely not the Christ of the Bible.
---christan on 9/27/12|
thanks aka didn't realize you were the name police! I'm not an indignant whiny sniffling pompous head-case needing my blog-name spelled correctly here, maybe that's why he argues, maligns, and even rewrites holy scripture to suit his doctrines of devils??
The government of God will rule the earth when the Lord Jesus returns to earth to rule from Jerusalem as King of Kings and Lord or Lords
1 Timothy 6:14,15
Isaiah 30:19-20 40:10-11
and dozens of others
---Follower_of_Christ on 9/27/12|
FOC, scriptures does not contradict scriptures, rather it confirms with one another. The only King that will be left after God is done destroying the world is the Lord Jesus Christ. And not that He's not ruling as a King now in the heavens destroying the wicked and saving His people.
Didn't Christ said, "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place." John 18:36
Jesus came into this world and was crucified and you actually think He's coming back in the flesh again to rule this world? Seriously? What twisted doctrines do you hold?
---christan on 9/27/12|
foc, please don't start with this "christian" name again. we had that issue before. his name is Christan and he has been blogging way before you started. nevertheless, it appears that you will continue to argue with him, so,at least get his name right.
---aka on 9/27/12|
well Christian if it sounds like that to you then you have done well to continue in your own understanding. Your verse does not disprove more than a dozen verses that state the Lord Jesus will rule from Jerusalem as King of Kings and that heaven and Gods throne will one day be here. If you misinterpret one scripture to fit your idea yet ignore dozens of other verses that plainly state the rule of the Lord on earth then you have denominational fantasy land of holy scripture verses believing Gods word. I prefer the word over your love of the government structure of the world and the ceo's, and prime ministers you adore.
---Follower_of_Christ on 9/27/12|
So there will be head of states, prime ministers and secretary of state in the Kingdom of Heaven? What about CEOs and CFOs? And they will come down to earth to rule over the earth? What kind of mongrelic kingdom are you talking about that the spirits will dwell with the flesh?
Didn't Peter say, "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up." 2 Peter 10.
Sounds like God is going to destroy the world and everyone in it, doesn't it?
---christan on 9/27/12|
Trey the Kingdom of God is here right now,we live in it when Jesus,God,and the Holy Ghost come to live in us, for it is his Word and His Spirit within us which we share with the World. But the Kingdom of Heaven isn't the same as the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God has already come to us but the Kingdom of Heaven is waiting for us to come to it after the Judgement.
---Darlene_1 on 9/26/12|
Am I the only one on ChristiNet who believes that the Kingdom of Heaven is here and now. So many of you are looking for Christ to come back and rule on earth, yet that is not what is taught in scripture. Consider this verse:
Lu17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
John18:36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
Christ's kingdom is a spiritual kingdom. It is not something we can see with a human eye.
---trey on 9/26/12|
the government of God will rule the earth one day, it will come down from heaven and destroy all the governments on earth and they will all be the Lords to rule. Kings and priests are the rewards that salvation will bring as scripture clearly details we rule with the Lord who rules from Jerusalem. Mansion is not defined as a home in scripture through government of God it is an office, we already know King David and Apostles (except Judas) and various others will be ruling directly under The Lord, the remaining will be appointed by him. Parable of the pounds is a great illustration of how the Lord will distribute his positions.

"i sort of get the impression that positions in Heaven are based upon what we do in this life....." chip
Well Chip, that's not Christianity but what the other religions of the world teaches (and also many quarters of people pretending to be Christians). That's call salvation by works. That's why they believe they will be rewarded based on what they do on earth.
Salvation in the Holy Bible is about God's grace and mercy through His sovereign election in His Son Jesus Christ. Paul speaks of this in Romans 9:11 - "For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth"
---christan on 9/26/12|
Is this like the -where will I sit in the supper of the Lamb- question? No, that would be both prideful, and in contradiction to Heavens no sin policy. ...Depending on your eschatalogical view: Isaiah 60:19-22, 65:25, 2Peter 3:13, Revelations 21:27.
p.s. the Word of Faith movement misuses such verses as John 13:36-14:3, mansions being an apartment attached to a house, and the Dominionist movement pridefully misuses verses such as Matthew 19:30, when it was meant to produce humbleness.
---Glenn on 9/21/12|
My friend put this way Billy Graham might have a house on a hill but I still have an apartment but we have the same access to Jesus and still in HEAVEN. That is just cool.

For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
1 Corinthians 3:8
Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
And, behold, I come quickly, and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
The reward is eternal life and rulership on earth with the Lord Jesus. The Lord will rule the government of God from Jerusalem as King of Kings and his faithful servants will rule with him and our rewards or rulership will be given when he returns. Striving is the way of this world.
---Follower_of_Christ on 9/19/12|
no...it means those that humble themselves as children will be greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

I hope not, Geraldine.
Striving for superior positions is pride and envy, which are sins.
However, there are degrees of glory and reward in heaven, I believe--and NO jealousy.
