So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable, what is raised is imperishable. It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. It is sown a physical body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a physical body, there is also a spiritual body.

1 Corinthians 15:42-44

Physical. We teach the bodily resurrection. That is what the Bible teaches.

Will we be physical or spirit beings in the resurrection?

Many people as Simone.... in 2015 have same question.
Christ resurrected, ate and drank with many. Thomas touched his wounds. Exe 37 describes:
Eze 37:7.......as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.
Eze 37:8 I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.
.Eze 37:10So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.
Eze 37:11Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: .......

Psa 130:8And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

Eze 37:13And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,

Eze 37:28And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary ....

Heb 9:15And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
---Trav on 4/21/21

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace which he lavished upon us. For he has made known to us in all wisdom and insight the mystery of his will, according to his purpose which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fulness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

John Father has set apart a third of His Children for salvation. A third will be brought through the fire, and purifed,as gold is purified.

Samuel, please use Scripture and show me where God breathe His Spirit into another living creature?

---Nicole_Lacey

Job 33:4 The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.

aservant . . . good to see you again.

Samuel, please use Scripture and show me where God breathe His Spirit into another living creature?

He didn't.

So the difference from us living creatures and the other living creatures is that We humans are Spiritual and living physical creatures/being.

Plain and clear.

I am not talking about the spirit of a horse, sky, mother earth or that nonsense.

But the Spirit of the TRUE LIVING GOD!

I was made in God's Image, not a horse's image.
---Nicole_Lacey on 11/11/15

Nicole living being does not mean spiritual. There are many Atheists who are living beings but they are not spiritual and don't believe it.

Jesus was physically resurrected from the Grave.

So will the righteous and the wicked.

Rev 20:5,6
But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
---Samuelbb7 on 11/11/15

Not 'or' but 'both'.

Remember we are both now, so why would we lose either when we go up to Heaven?

Genesis 2:7-8
The Lore God formed man out of the clay of the ground and blew into his nostrils the breath of life, and so man became a living being. (Spiritual)

Remember before man he created other living creatures, Genesis 1:20 "The teem with an abundance of living creatures, and on the earth.. V 24, but Man in V26 was made like God's Image, and their Likeness. -Spiritual. Souls.

If the 2nd Person of the Trinity became Man our very fresh and still has His Fresh in Heaven, why not us?

We will be both physical and Spirit as Jesus.

They will be physical but not like today.First Corinthians speaks of them.

I don't believe in humans being spirit bodies or ever having them. I don't believe in ghosts.

I do believe in demons. Who impersonate the dead. To try to get the living to speak to the dead. Which is opposed by the Bible.
---Samuelbb7 on 8/21/15

Hi, I'm pretty certain we will have physical bodies but not with the limitations of our current bodies, certainly. I'm just grateful my mama accepted Jesus on Saturday and will soon be in whatever body God gives her in Heaven. My heart is breaking but for her, I rejoice.
---Mary on 8/18/15

I don't know which we will be Simone but we are guaranteed (I am certain) that it will be better than the body we have right now. This body was only ever meant to be in its present state temporarily.
---andreea on 8/17/15

How true Rita, but it helps us in this life to respect our bodies and those bodies of others a little bit better.

Simone said, "If the resurrected body is tangible how was it Christ was able to walk through a wall?"

Jesus, fully in control of his glorified body was able to do things that appear supernatural, such as walking through walls, appearing and disappearing, etc. When we are living in our glorified body we will be able to walk through walls, etc.

Pray for me,
the unworthy monk Brendan
---Monk_Brendan on 8/11/15

\\That would account for the way Christ could appear and disappear at will.\\

Not necessarily.

His glorified resurrected physical body is NOT subject to the same limitations as ours presently are.

Glory to Jesus Christ!

"If the resurrected body is tangible how was it Christ was able to walk through a wall?"
There are terrestrial bodies, bodies formed of the earth and bound by its rules of time space and matter, and there are celestial bodies, bodies that I believe will be spoken into existence, as concerning the dead, or transformed (changed from terrestrial to celestial), as concerning the living, at the return of Jesus. And based on what we know of the resurrected Lord, these bodies will not bound by those earthly rules of time space or matter.
---josef on 8/9/15

Thanks everyone for your input.
If the resurrected body is tangible how was it Christ was able to walk through a wall? I was wondering if the resurrected body could be composed of spirit but able to manifest itself as angels did in the old testament? That would account for the way Christ could appear and disappear at will.

After his Resurrection Jesus could eat, be touched, walk with others.

His was a resurrection body.

So will ours.

Beyond that we cannot know the details.

1 Corinthians 15:16-20
For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain, ye are yet in your sins.
Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept.

To elaborate on my answer, Simone, while St. Paul said, "The flesh wars against the spirit, and the spirit wars against the flesh", God intended them to work together.

So it will be after the general resurrection in the World to Come.

Glory to Jesus Christ!
---Cluny on 8/9/15

The body will be tangible in it's composition, it will simply not be composed of that which of the earth. "It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body." 1Co 15:44 All bodies are physical, in that they all cast a shadow.
---josef on 8/8/15

I'm just waiting to find out when I get there. Speculation gets us nowhere.

Yes.

Our physical bodies will not be subject to the limitations they have since the Fall.

What is it that you think will rise from the grave, anyway? As Jesus put it after His own Resurrection, "A spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have."

Glory to Jesus Christ!
