According to Jesus, Yes.

Matthew 23:1-3.

Now the problem is that there is only one Church Jesus is telling us to follow.
---Nicole_Lacey on 11/30/19

There are some people whose teachings are so blatantly unbiblical, it doesn't take an expert to discern them, as their own words condemn them. E.g. Jesus said "Deny yourself, take up your cross and follow me", while Paula White said, "Anyone who tells you to deny yourself is from Satan". It doesn't take an apostle or a rocket scientist to realize this is false teaching. One doesn't need to know anything else about what she says or does to reach the obvious conclusion.

It IS possible for Christians to follow false teachers and still be saved, but his life might be wasted as a result:

1 Corinthians 3:15
If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire.
---StrongAxe on 11/30/19

Anyone can do with their money whatever they want to do, to give it to whoever they want to give it. Whether anyone else thinks that it's wrong or not.. The matter of "exposing and proving" a false teacher is for an apostle such as Paul or Christ to do.. Because of non-qualified persons armed with a personal objection to different belief.. the words false and heretic are used without true discerning. As those who called Jesus Christ a false teacher, and those who called the apostle Paul a false teacher. In that case it's time to put into effect Isa.54:17.

It might be easy to find a church/pastor who preaches what we read if there was more scripture being read in church by church and pastors. As it is, scripture is a little read and scripture is being more replaced. Sermons little supplement the scripture. Some think the Bible dull. The Bible is more interesting to me than most sermons. The superior is replaced by the inferior and scripture is vastly superior. GOOD LUCK in finding a church that gets it right!

Mike: "What are we to do?"

Read for yourself what the Holy Scriptures say, and then find a church/pastor that that teaches what you read. Forget about what you think you know and follow the truth of the Word of God. ALL of it, not just the parts you like.

---Jerry6593 on 12/31/16

I don't know. Yet it is usually the case that we continue to support the false. We are told we must follow. We are to submit to governing authority. We are not to forsake the assembly. But there is too far, and there are moments we are not to follow. The midwives disobeyed Pharoah. Not many pulpits follow the Bible. The church is not doing a good job. Much is false. So most are guilty. What are we to do?
---mike4879 on 12/30/16

How can they be if they follow false anything? Jesus is Truth. The Holy Spirit is holy, does not lie, and teaches and guides us into all truth.

ONLY God is able to judge if a person is a Christian. A person's work may not reflect what we consider "Christian" but we can't judge a person's Christianity. That doesn't mean we can't confront them and challenge them on their actions, but we are not ever in a position to judge there relationship with God.
---wivv on 4/21/16

Michael, you also mentioned:
"You will find the answer is preaching of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery (Rom 16:25)."

People first need to know what Paul was referring to when he mentioned "according to the revelation of the mystery."
it is mentioned in (1 Cor. 4:1, Eph. 5:32, 6:19, Col. 1:25,26,, 2 Thess. 2:7-8:, 1 Tim. 3:9,16). The New Testament most common mystery is that God would provide salvation for Gentiles as well as Jews (Eph. 2:3-9).
Mystery because it refers to something hidden in former times but now made known.
---Luke on 4/20/16

I agree with your point Michaele.

Many read only small parts of the Bible and ignore what they don't want to hear.

Those who preach follow Jesus and get rich have huge number of followers.

2Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears,

See Jude and 2 Peter.
---Samuelbb7 on 4/19/16

The modern picture of false teachers is cultists passing out kool-aid. A real false teacher likely looks like an average teacher.
Check your teacher on their Biblical views of:
Is the Bible accurate in its teaching?
Was Jesus sinless?
Does Satan exist as a real being?
Is God omnipotent and omniscient?
Is salvation by grace alone?
Are we responsible to evangelize?
This group is leading, or misleading, doctrinal instruction of many.
Study the source. Learn what the Bible really says.
You will find the answer is preaching of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery (Rom 16:25).
A failure to rightly divide effects spiritual growth and destiny of millions (Rom 16:17-18).

Amen Luke great and beautiful point.

---Samuelbb7 on 4/17/16

At your service Samuel. You're welcome!
---Leon on 4/15/16

Leon, you are correct. Many love certain speakers, and in the process of the message they give, they include false teachings with the message. And many hear the message and don't pay attention because they believe what their church teaches, and in their own mind, the church would never teach false teachings.
They are slaves to those churches.
Before we came to Christ we were also slaves, but the Lord bought us with His own blood, and now we are slaves to the Lord, but free from the slavery of the enemy as Ephesians teaches in 2:1-3.
---Luke on 4/16/16

True Rob Cluny does as you stated.

I just choose to never insult him back.

Leon you make an excellent point. I believe you are correct.

Thank you.
---Samuelbb7 on 4/15/16

Bill: Some people may not hear false doctrine, when it is spoken, because they're so enamored (blinded) by the personality of the speaker. It behooves all Christians to be ever vigilant just like the Bereans.

I have heard people preach what I was sure was wrong, then I would talk with someone in the church who seemed very real as a Christian person. The person might be very appreciative of what the preacher says.

But did you hear him say such and such?

Did he say that? I must have not been paying attention.

It seems there are people who can just not hear the wrong stuff, because they are feeding on what is good.

There are ones, I consider, who have taught wrong stuff, but now they are giving a more and more mature message.
---Bill on 4/15/16

Samuelbb7, I may be different because If you look through these blogs, I do accept correction and rebuke when merited.

What I told Cluny was not an insult but an observation.

Samuel, look through these blogs and see how many times Cluny has said he is waiting for answers to things which had been answered. I guess he ignored the answers because they don't line up with and exposes his religion.

Samuel, also look at many times on these blogs Cluny would not answer questions and insulted people.

There is much more I can share concerning this.
---Rob on 4/14/16

Notice, class, that Rob never told us just WHOM he considered to be exposed and proven to be false teachers.

Glory to Jesus Christ!
---Cluny on 4/14/16

Rob. Insults show that you either don't know what you are talking about. Or to ignorant to prove what you think is true.

Cluny has shown a knowledge of history and logical points

Why should we trust you when you have done neither?

Cluny, are you really that illiterate and lack the ability to comprehend what you may read.

If not, I suggest you STUDY SCRIPTURE, then you will know who false teachers are!
---Rob on 4/14/16

Meanwhile, 10 days after his initial post, Rob is not telling us whom he considers a false teacher.

I wonder why.

Glory to Jesus Christ!
---Cluny on 4/14/16

Sorry for my mistake. You are making a good and important point. I agree.

---Samuelbb7 on 4/10/16

Samuel BB said, "I simply disagree on one in the list."

What I was trying to point out, Samuel, is that everybody can point a finger at someone else and say that such and such person is a false prophet. The other day I even did a Google search on Billy Graham and the Illuminati and found thousands of results.

Accusations have been leveled at all sorts of people, even Mother Teresa. And there are even people that hate her! I just did a search, and found 468,000 results for Mother Teresa evil.

There are people out there who will find evil in anything, and I have to wonder if the evil is in them, instead of what they are hating.

True you pointed fingers at everybody. Most of which I agree should be in the list. I simply disagree on one in the list.

I didn't think you were trying to pick a fight with me. I have found you to be a cordial person. We disagree on somethings and agree on others. True we debate but fight? Not so far as I remember.

GOD bless you and help you.

---Samuelbb7 on 4/8/16

Samuel BB said "
Monk Brendan

You had to add E.G. White in there."

Read the entire post. I pointed fingers at everybody. Jerry Falwell, Popes, Patriarchs, Mary Baker Eddy, everyone. So don't think I was trying to pick a fight with you.
---Monk_Brendan on 4/7/16

Rob, whom do you consider to be a false teacher?

Maybe if we knew who you had in mind, we could understand your question better.

Glory to Jesus Christ!
---Cluny on 4/7/16

Monk Brendan

You had to add E.G. White in there.

First her words aren't an addium to the Bible.

The Bible is the final authority in all matters above all.

She wasn't perfect and made mistakes. Her words lead back to trusting the Bible. Putting God first and doing right. She gives encouragement and warnings. Guidelines and helps. That was her job.

A relationship with Christ alone is the whole heart of the matter, Samuel. Well spoken.

When people promote what another mere human has said/written as an addendem to the Holy Word and said human is hailed as some special prophet (read "profit") then there confusion. God had made it clear He is not the author of confusion, humans are.

How do you know that you have not believed a false teacher?
Where is grace in your theology?
---Scott1 on 4/5/16

Rob asked, "Can a person be a Christian, when over and over again, they support and defend the people who have been exposed and proven to be False Teachers?"

Who are you talking about? Jerry Falwell? Jimmy Swaggart? Jim and Tammey Faye Baker?

Or are you talking more on the lines of the one or many popes or patriarchs?

Or could you possibly be talking about Mary Baker Eddy, Ellen G White and or Joseph Smith?
---Monk_Brendan on 4/4/16

True our relationship with Jesus is the center of all truth and who we are.

Amen, Cluny.
---Press_On on 4/4/16

The key word here is "proven." If those who are contributing continue to believe that TRUTH is being shared, they will continue to support.
---Geraldine on 4/4/16

Someone whom A believes proven to be a false teacher, B will believe to be an anointed prophet.

Being a Christian has to do with relationship with Christ. Period.

Glory to Jesus Christ!
