David Wilkerson was a street minister during a moment. In so far as I know, Jonah was a street minister to the people in the city of Nineveh. It has its place. I think most street ministers in Sin City will succomb to the lure of legalised prostitution. One will need to be contrite and up for the job and mature in Christ. Of course, more street ministers probably just hand out pamplets to those that pass by.

They are great if sent by God. Anointing gives them all they need to be effective for God.

Pointless if not sent by God. They have no anointing.

The real question is whether street preachers are giving God's word or their own.
---Cluny on 5/26/16

True. The question applies ever more to your un-orthodox cult you tout weekly. You've never given GOD's word once to show it's special place. You can't because it is not in GOD's word nor is any denomination.
You can't yet, GOD's witnesses are in the thousands. For instance Israel/Jacob is found over 3,929 times throughout scripture. Additionally Judah 813 times, Ephraim 172, Manasseh 143, Congregation of Israel 333, Assembly of Israel 21, Ekklesia, 116, My people 231, Of Israel 1,692 times etc, etc, etc.
But, you've nothing to post...hmmmmm.

John 1944 I know it is true a leg grow. The people don't do it God does. I went to a Women Aglow Fellowship meeting, these are women from several different denominations, with a back ache. I had been treated for one leg shorter and in fact had to wear a lift inserted in my shoe. The speaker said someone has a backache,I just sat there waiting for someone to hold up a hand,no one did so I said It's me. She asked a man of God to take my right foot in his hand,he did and as she prayed it felt just like someone was pulling my leg,I even opened my eyes and looked, and he was still just holding my foot. When she was through my back ache was gone. X-Rays before showed short leg, after it was same. I got to take the lift out of my shoe and backache gone.

I agree Darlene: However, all the street preachers I've ever seen violently beat the waters & occasionally fish with dynamite (metaphorically speaking). That's a huge turn off to many who pass by while the preacher rants to the top of his lungs.

However, I believe there's always some people who're curiously/willing to hear what even these preachers say, then are convicted of sin, repent & are saved. Praise God for that!

I agree with Some of those opinions some of them. The Lord says preach to All Nations and we should reach out to others that may not get the word any other way.. even if it's only one. I can't recall the verse but I do remember the word saying don't be like the Pharisees preach from the street corners just to get a man's attention. and that's paraphrasing. one example when I was a young adult I attended a rock concert that include a Christian rock band called stryper who got their name from a Bible verse I believe in Isaiah. the lead singer made the same statement that if he only save one soul that's all that counted. and they threw out small Bibles that had the name Across it.

Many have very valid points of view. Unfortunately, since it's so easy to self-publish these days (whether on text or video), it's easy for anyone with any agenda to promote it with no oversight or accountibility - so a lot of total wackos get on there, and for many people, it's hard to tell the sound ones from the crazy ones.

I wonder if faithforfaith is one of those Two-seed-in-the-Spirit Predestinarian Baptists.
---john1944 on 5/23/16

faitthforfaith, how do you bear being able to read into the hearts of total strangers and know what otherwise is known to God alone?

Christ is risen!
---Cluny on 5/23/16

They want fame and "preach" for their own FAME/glory, not to glorify GOD ONLY.

The great commission is NOT for us, it was carried out by the apostles 2,000 years ago.

"What is anyone's opinion on Street Preachers?"
God bless their boldness and zeal.

I'm always leery of the hyper-active, mega-phone wielding, hard sell preacher types who try to force feed Jesus to you. In my view, Bible-bashing (beating people over the head with Scripture) is very far from being the way to effectively evangelize people. I understand preachers having a genuine zeal for Christ & the gospel. I get it! But, the most effective way of appealing to people is thru a spirit of gentleness & humility. Actively engaging people in "NORMAL" conversation as opportunity presents itself goes light years further towards achieving the goal of evangelism.
---Leon on 5/22/16

The ones who claim to be able to get God to grow people's short legs longer are to be avoided.
---john1944 on 5/22/16

I'm sure there are good ones and bad ones.

But in my limited experience with them, many simply don't know what they are talking about when asked a question that can't be answered by their dozen or so pet verses.

Christ is risen!
