Why are you looking at young girls. Let her mature. You sound like the teacher who married his student.

\\The law of man makes your love a perversion,\\

It is hardly a perversion. Such marriages were common in the US, especially the South, once upon a time.

My advice would be to admire her from a distance. You are well exsablished in your adult life now (or should be). When she will be legal for you, you'll be nearly 30, but she will just be spreading her wings as an adult.

Glory to Jesus Christ!
---Cluny on 3/20/17

The law of man makes your love a perversion, not the Law of God.
Still, the Law of man does not make it illegal to love, but illegal to act on your love.

And since you can go to jail for breaking this law, I think it best to do as some have recommended, and wait a few years, when your relationship will become legal.
---David on 3/18/17

So, if you know you shouldn't feel this way, trust this to God.

It is possible for a young girl to learn her manner from her mother who is mature. And so she can seem very mature (c: And if she's very nice looking, this can be very confusing if you are judging by appearance! (John 7:24)

She needs to mature, like you do (c:

And if you grow in God's love, you will enjoy discovering how God's love makes it easy for us to have self control with our extravagantly gorgeous and mature Christian sisters (c: And trust our Heavenly Father to join you with whomever He knows you belong with (c:

God bless you, Dalton (c:

//My answer was WITH PARENTAL CONSENT.---mike4879

Those States need MORE than just PARENTAL CONSENT!

A JUDGE is needed and couples must have by 'reason' of PREGNANCY or the birth of a child.

California also states 'OTHER STATUTORY LAWS APPLY.'

Meaning if the girl is too young it could be a FORCE RAPE marriage situation which is AGAINST THE LAW just like those SDA marriages.

Men (RAPISTS) had parental consent for the 12 year olds they married

Wrong Mike, New Hampshire the age is 16 WITHOUT parental consent. Younger ONLY WITH parental consents AND THE CONSENT OF THE JUDGE: males: 14 and girls 13

Massachusetts 16 With parental/JUDGE consent males 14 females 12.

California 18. '..with parental consent, there are age limits regarding the minimum age for a couple to marry.(OTHER STATUTORY LAWS APPLY.)'
***Which means the age differences between the couple is LIMITED.

Delaware 18. Males 17/females 16 with parental consent.
Males under 17/females under 16 ONLY with parental consent AND by reason of PREGNANCY or the birth of a child.
Mississippi 16. 16/15 with parental/or judge consent.

--Findlaw 'State-by-State Marriage "Age of Consent" Laws
---Nicole_Lacey on 1/7/17

Look it up! With parental concent, current laws, in New Hampshire, males 14, females 13. In Massachusetts, males 14, females 12. In California, Mississippi, and Delaware there is no age limit. And states that do have age requirements may waive the requirement with parental and judicial consent. So now, Nicole, you have more info than you have need. I would not hasten to the altar.

If your feelings are true and good. You can wait two years.
---Samuelbb7 on 9/11/16

Wow! Really deep interesting kinda scary, grandma got married at 13 yes they were together for over 67 years! My grandparents stuck it out.they were married in another country here its very dangerous for a young girl her age the laws are strict.Give prayer & wisdom a chance, better wait than get yourself in trouble if she mean that much you can.wait be married once she get older.Teenagers now a days are not cautious of the law be carefull sir.God bless you!
---Elena_95555 on 9/10/16

Are you sure she isn't just looking at you as a father figure? At 16 her brain has not fully developed yet - this won't happen until she's 22-23. Before that time, she may change her mind because she has more reasoning power, but if you marry now, she may feel some resentment as she gets older. To marry now would mean she will miss all the social activities of a normal 16 year old, such as the senior prom, or while her friends are are at the mall "chilling out", she's changing diapers . What I suggest is you not see her until she's 24 and see if she still wants to marry you. (It's not as hard as you think.) To marry her now would be a mistake! (Of course, it's not legal at this time!) Wait!
---WIVV on 9/10/16

Mike, NO SIR! Not a single State allows a 12 year old to marry.

Not even in FLDS/Muslims strong hold states. (They love to marry girl as young as 9)

Please name that state?

My argument is that parents can not CONSENT to rape.

If the girl is of legal age she doesn't need her parents to marry someone.

Remember Warren Jeffs?

A 12 year old girl's parents GAVE him consent to marry their daughter!

It didn't matter if the daughter agreed.

It was considered rape thus a felon.

Plus he was charged with assisted rape by giving older men young girls as wives.

Each state is different, but some state allow for minors to marry with parental consent. The legal marrying age differs from state to state. In one state, a minor girl can marry at age 12 with parental consent (not that I recommend this). In Mexico, girls can marry at age 15. It is fine for them. Some scholars say that Mary the mother of Jesus was 13.
---mike4879 on 8/28/16

//seek parental consent//

We are not in the Middle East.

Either she can give consent her own due to being of legal age, or she CAN'T.

Mom and Dad CAN NOT give consent to rape.

That is want it is called in most States when a girl is not of the legal age to date someone over 18.

//and marry her as soon as state laws permit---mike4879 on 8/25/16

The rest of your comment I agree, but this guy needs to stay totally away from the 16 year old until she is of age.

Thank God for the common sense laws
---Nicole_Lacey on 8/25/16

My opinion is "YES" if the 16 year old gal has the same feelings for you, then seek parental consent and marry her as soon as state laws permit or you will live in eternal regret that you had not sought marriage to her, then you might marry a woman past her flower when you yourself are half through life.

A Servant said, ". Leave the child and go get yourself a woman, who can better tackle your immaturity and selfishness."

I totally agree.

Amen, Aservant, Amen!
---Nicole_Lacey on 8/20/16

My Opinion:

You know nothing about love: Love is about giving and sacrificing for the betterment of another.

This is all about you. You are taking, not giving.

What does she know about being a Life Partner in an ever demanding world. You may likely impede her education. So she becomes a mother at 19, with no degree or job experience. Then you will view her as a burden . . . and it will be YOUR FAULT.

It would be different if you were 47 and she is 36. Leave the child and go get yourself a woman, who can better tackle your immaturity and selfishness.
---aservant on 8/19/16

Darlene, I don't think it is impossible for true love and a successful marriage after godly dating period.

But, you must know that 16 years TODAY do not display the same maturity you had when you were 16 years old.

Look at your granddaughters (if you have any) and you can see the difference.

This 27 year old can wait for 2 years due to the laws today (different from when you were 16 years)if God wishes them to marry.

In the United Kingdom anyone, male or female, can marry with parental consent at age 16 and without consent at 18. I'm assuming that U.S. laws are different.

At the moment an age gap of this length is really too much but in a few years time it will not seem as much. If the feeling is mutual (however you don't say that it is) then she'll be worth waiting for and she will, also, be content to wait. She will still have much school work to cope with so leave her do her studies for now.

Nicole Lacey I admit that sounds bad and it's extreme but it doesn't have to be about lust. I was 16 when I married my husband and we have been married over 60 years. My Grandma was 15 and my Granddad was 28 they lived together until Granddad died when he was 86. I think it's up to the parents to double date with them, my parents did us, and get to know him and see if they could be married. His Mom and my Dad went with us to get our blood tests and signed the permit that allowed me to marry. I was a grown woman in behavior I cooked supper, cleaned house every Saturday, sometimes did laundry and ironed ,girls learned how to be women a lot sooner back then.

Please the postings in 'I really like my Youth Pastor'.

It's a felony.

The bad part is that your guilt is all on CN.

You know she is 16 years old.

You can't even call her a woman, but call her a girl.

You wouldn't call a lady your age a girl would you?

You also called her amazing. How would you know she is amazing unless are already dating her?

You cannot help it, but God can and will help you.

You are suffering from lust.

If she feels the same for you are you feel for her, you both can wait 2 years.

Or risk 10 to 15 years if caught.

DR: Are you a christian? Does she say she loves you?

You're almost twice her age & are flirting with a disaster that could land you in jail for a long time. You're old enough to be a grown up. At least by law you are, but she isn't & is still a child who is developing mentally as well as physically.

Here's an out for you: Wait until she's 18. Then if she declares her love for you, the the two of you can legally make commitments to one another.
---Leon on 8/15/16

"I have fallen in love with a nice caring 16 year old Christian girl. I'm 27.
I don't know what to do."
Wait two years until she's legal.

"She is amazing, I shouldn't have these feelings for her but I cannot help it"
Than waiting, on your part, should be easy. However I doubt she would wait two weeks for you, but than that is the nature of the adolescent beast:o) Do yourself a favor, and leave it alone. Like Monk Brendan says "Besides, 16 will get you 20." :oD))) Good one, and something for you to seriously consider Dalton Reynolds.
---Josef on 8/15/16

Stay away!

There is nothing good that will come from a relationship with a 16 year old girl. Tell her that for her own good. Tell her that if she wants to hold out hope, then she should turn it inward to prayer. If, when she comes of age, she wants to get together with you, and you can do so honorably, then good.

Besides, 16 will get you 20.
