I do understand. I asked you a direct question. Has God EVER told you to barbecue over a pile of human feces? Yes or No?

StevenG said, "You have written...out of the mouth of a demon - (thank you SO much) taking a small phrase - out of context - and turn it against a person of God.Are you thinking about yourself? You've got THAT wrong.

It is expressly written that "ALL Scripture is God-breathed...every good work."

Do you believe that or not?

As a matter of fact, I do. However, when was the last time God commanded YOU to bake bread on a pile of dung?

You probably believe that "money is the root of all evil."

No, I do not. But if I asked for a donation, you would be highly offended. Besides, the quote is "the love of money is the root of evil." 1 Tim 6:10 KJV

You have written this out of the mouth of a demon - taking a small phrase - out of context - and turn it against a person of God. Is that a habit of yours?

It is expressly written that "ALL Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Do you believe that or not?

What was the story from which Ezekiel 4:12 was taken? Did you learn anything from the story?

You probably believe that "money is the root of all evil."

StevenG, is this verse for you? And thou shalt eat it as barley cakes, and thou shalt bake it with dung that cometh out of man, in their sight. (Ezekiel 4:12)

Does it follow that everything written under the inspiration of God must be historically and factually accurate?

\\ALL scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:.. 2 Timothy 3 \\

All of the Bible is FOR us, but not all of the Bible is TO us.

For example, there are verses that apply to the married, and others to the unmarried.

Steveng:

Yes, all is profitable, when it it understood in the RIGHT CONTEXT in which it is given.

Acts says, "Judas hung himself". Jesus once said, "Do ye therefore likewise". At the last supper, he told Judas, "What you must do, do quickly".

If you take these words at face value and out of context, you might think Jesus is encouraging suicide, which would be a totally ludicrous conclusion.

Do you obey every single command God has given everyone everywhere? When did you slay Philistines? Or build an ark? Or raise your arms to part the Red Sea? None of those commands were addressed to us, and clearly, God does not expect you, or me, or anyone else today to carry them out.

StrongAxe : The Day Of The Lord in the Bible is a reference to Judgement Day, Or The Day - as it is in Joel 2:1 - ( Consequence of sin ) - Also refer Jeremiah 25:33

Isaiah 13:9 - Behold the Day of The Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay desolate the sinners thereof out of it.

Trumpet - Isaiah 58:1 - Cry aloud spare not, lift up thy voice like a Trumpet, and shew my people their transgressions, and the house of Jacob there sins,

Luke 17:26 - And as it was in the Days of Noe, So shall it be at the coming of man,

( Now, Noe knew the End was at hand, Time to get the animals in the Ark, So shall it be the same at the coming of Man ? Knowing The Time ? )

Bill, All throughout the bible God warns everyone about what is about to happen - for instance, God warned the Pharoah, God warned Noah, and God is sending the two witnesses written in Revelation 11 just before Jesus' return.
---Steveng on 10/15/17

After Jesus tells us about what will happen in the end times, He gives the meaning of it all > how we need to be ready. If we are ready . . . all Jesus means by this . . . then we are now blessed the way God wants and means by His end-time message.

I think "ready" mainly means to become perfected in God's love so "as He is, so are we in this world." (in 1 John 4:17)

So, in case we are mainly giving our attention to judging teachers . . . this can decoy us from how we need to become ready.

RichardC:

God was giving a specific command to Joel, not to us. Hebrews was written to the church 2000 years ago and the end STILL isn't nigh. We're to be vigilant all night - not sleep until somebody wakes us up and says "the thief will be here 10 minutes from now".

One scholar after another predicts the "biblical" time of the end, and gets it wrong, time and time again, damaging the faith of his followers, and bringing prophetic teaching in general more and more into disrepute, to where, when the end actually DOES come, and somebody DOES announce it correctly, most people will ignore it because they have been lied to SO many times before - the very essence of Aesop's The Boy Who Cried Wolf parable.

Boy Who Cry Wolf ?

Joel 2:1 - Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound the alarm in my Holy Mountain, let the inhabitants of the land tremble : for the Day of the Lord cometh, for it is at hand,

Hebrews 10:25 - But Not forsake the assembling of ourselves together ,as a manner of some is : but exhorting one another and much more , as ye see the Day approaching,

Matthew 24:43 - But Know this ,That if the good man of the house had known in what watch the thief would come , He would of watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

The breed received the name Jacob sheep based on Genesis Chapter 30.

Realize that many verses in the bible come with two meanings (metaphors, similes, and parables for example) Read Ezekiel 34 and Micah 2.

Remember that the reestablishing the Jewish homeland include Jacob's spotted sheep.
---Steveng on 10/11/17

Steveng, just in case you're trying to pin apocalyptic significance to this factoid, Jesus will get here when He gets here.

NOWHERE does the Bible give special meaning to whatver kind of sheep from which a shofar is made.

Steveng:

"shofar" is Hebrew for "ram's horn". The plural is "shofarot". Although there may be some special shofarot made from some special kinds of sheep, that does not alter the fact that the term originated a a simple generic plural noun, any more than "The Keys of the Kingdom", although the phrase has a special meaning, does not diminish the fact that "keys" are also in common use for many other purposes.

"shofarot" are made from any sheep. "Jacob's Sheep Shofarot" are made from Jacob's Sheep.
---StrongAxe on 10/10/17

SrongAxe, type "jacob's sheep shofarot" in your favorite browser.

Many English dictionaries show that the shofarot is plural for shofar, but it isn't. Shofars are made from 'sheep' horns and the shofarot is made from the rams of 'Jacob's sheep.'

Cluny, Yes, 'sheep' horns have been blown for many centuries, but 'Jacob's sheep' are certain rams and the shofarot is made from horns of Jacobs sheep (rams).
---Steveng on 10/9/17

In Hebrew, "shofarot" is merely the plural of "shofar". If you're referring to some specific event, could you please enlighten us, or point to a news article or something? I can't seem to find anything online that is out of the ordinary.

Also, people have been pointing to this and that sign of the end times for a very long time, and have always been wrong so far. Jesus warned of this, and said that his coming would not need to be announced, but would be visible by everyone as lightning flashes from east to west. The one thing that constant apocalyptic claims can achieve is to immunize people against the real thing (e.g. The Boy Who Cried Wolf).
---StrongAxe on 10/8/17

Shofarot have been blown in the Holy Land for centuries.

Is the worldly denominational church of Steveng acting like this is something new?
