Steveng, the reason I believe the Christian life is complicated is because we live in a fallen world and we have to deal with people that do not know Christ and don't want to know Him. People come against us at work, and other places. My wife has a hard time with co-workers who don't like her because she is a Christian. Also some family members do not want anyone to bring the subject up about Christ. They begin to separate just as the Bible tells us it would happen. Father against son, mother against daughter and so on. As a Christian, going to church is easy. Listening to the Word of God is easy. Eating with our brothers and sisters is easy. Being good to our family and friends is easy. That part of Christianity is easy.

Love works...Those who love GOD and love others work...
---Samuelbb7 on 2/9/18

I totally agree.

In fact, God wants our participation. Jesus demonstrated this with His first miracle. Jesus transformed the water into wine but why did He use the servants? He could have performed the miracle without the servants. He wanted their participation.

It is this participation that we are blind to. Farmers are participating in the life of the Trinity by providing food for the sheep. Yet we rarely give farmers credit for this, even in our prayers. We thank God for the food, but we should be thanking God for the farmers.

Love works. Why because when you love others you truly want to help them. You don't want to fight and hurt others.

Those who love GOD and love others work. It is their nature.

1John 5:2,3 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Being a Christian is not complicated. Having to deal with all the falsehoods taught today is.

Many are still under endure to the end, live it to keep it, works and faith, commandment keeping religious system.
When your faith is in the gospel of the grace of God you understand that the gift of righteousness and eternal life is given freely by grace without additional works. Christ did it all. You have liberty in him.
So, does Paul teach the gospel of the grace of God is against the Law? Does it give a license to sin? Does freedom and liberty mean that sin will abound? God forbid. The truth about grace is different.
The answer is in right division.

"Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain." (Philippians 2:14-16)

So, God does expect us to stop our arguing and complaining. And if we do, we can "become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault", right "in the midst of" this evil world's "crooked and perverse generation".

God commands this, so God knows His grace can do this with us.

So, what evil lurks within your heart to make such an accusation?
---Steveng on 2/3/18

Touchy aren't we? It was partially a joke. But accuse you of what, intellectual tricks? Really? I refer to tricks as in trick-or-treat. Your subjects seem to want to stir up dissension or sensationalism.

For example, look at your most recent blog, Virtual Reality churches, what are our thoughts?

Do you realize most of us bloggers are seniors, over 55? Do you think seniors care anything about VR?

We are not gamers, D & D masters. We could care less about VR.

Yet you ask this question. Why?

Rather than taking Jesus at His word, and submitting to Him without protest, some believe that the onus is on somehow them.

Tricks? You assume way too much. Do you usually falsely accuse people like a few others on this site? Remember two of the six things that the Lord strongly dislikes: a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers. And possibly a third: a heart that devises wicked plans,

So, what evil lurks within your heart to make such an accusation?

It isn't supposed to be. Jesus said "my yoke is easy, my burden is light".
---StrongAxe on 1/30/18

My point exactly in another blog and Steveng's response was this blog question.

I actually think Jesus meant something slightly different than we usually think about this verse, and it is in the preceding verse.

Matt 11:29 "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls"

Rest for our souls. Gentle, humble, peaceful. These are what Jesus is offering for our souls. Jesus is not offering an easy life or easy circumstances.

As my mum used to say "God never promised you an easy life or that life would be fair".

//Why do today's Christians make living a Christian lifestyle so complicated?//
Most Christians are not convicted about what they believe. They fall on one side of the fence but it was almost by accident.
Conviction is what forces you to take action on something you believe to be true. It comes from making something the most important thing in your life. It cannot be faked.
If you want to see growth in your spiritual life
become convicted about the Bible rightly divided. When
you are fully convinced that the Bible is the word of God
it will work effectually in you (1 Thess 2:13).

Why do today's christians make living a christian lifestyle so complicated?
---Steveng on 1/29/18

First, having a relationship with God and living a life consecrated to God is not a "lifestyle". Life is hard.

Second, Jesus told us that the world would not love us because we are not of the world. We are His sheep. He is the shepherd of our lives. This makes life harder.

Third, I don't know who you talk to, but my brothers and sisters love the Lord and love others. Its that simple. But simple does not equal easy.

Fourth, is this another query from the Steveng bag of intellectual tricks?
