kathr4453:

On "Seven Spiritual Works of Mercy", you wrote: STRONGAXE are you saying the subject of S & G was about Abraham? And whether Abraham could stop God? If so,,,,then you were not paying attention either.

No. I didn't say anything like that. For the past several posts, I was saying that talking about S & G on a blog devoted to "Seven Spiritual Works of Mercy" is off-topic, and your accusing someone else to changing the subject on a blog where 98% of the posts were ALREADY OFF-TOPIC is meaningless deflection.

But you're so obsessed with S & G that instead of reading what I said, you keep replying to what you're incorrectly imagining that I'm talking about.
---StrongAxe on 10/16/19

kathr4453:

I don't just spontaneously change the subject on threads. If I ever discuss something off-topic, it's as a direct and related response to something someone else said (e.g. discussing what "abomination" means, since YOU mentioned "abomination" first.) But I agree. This particular discussion is done here.
---StrongAxe on 10/13/19

Cluny knows how it started and that is all that matters Strongaxe. I'm done discussing this.

Do I obsess over every thread you've changed the subject and insist on a reason why? NO. Look at all these posts YOU continue in taking up when I said DONE.

Stop taking up this thread Strongaxe.
---kathr4453 on 10/13/19

kathr4453:

How DID this start? *YOU* mentioned it here totally out of the blue on 10/8/19. Nobody on this blog said anything at all with reference to that subject, so why did you bring it up all of a sudden? If you post a message for all to read, all get to reply to it.

But I didn't criticize you on that. I just addressed the point *YOU* made - then *YOU* accused *ME* of deflecting (10/9/19). Calling something "an abomination" is meaningless unless you understand just what "abomination" means, so studying that is NOT deflection. *I* am discussing the issue. *YOU* are the one who is challenging the appropriateness of me discussing an issue *YOU* yourself started.
---StrongAxe on 10/13/19

Strongaxe, why are you obsessed with me. I already told you how the conversation started...and then escalated ....and was never talking to you in the first place.

Why are you so obsessed? That's the real question. I don't see anyone else so obsessed as you are on this subject.
---kathr4453 on 10/12/19

kathr4453:

You wrote: Why are you still policing? Move on Strongaxe.

Why are you obsessing about sodomy in two blogs that have nothing to do with that subject? Create a new blog for it, and move on.

Oh, and YOU telling me what I should and shouldn't post *IS* itself policing what I'm saying, so pot, kettle, black. By the way, saying a particular side-subject is off-topic for this blog IS on-topic for any any blog.
---StrongAxe on 10/12/19

Why are you still policing? Move on Strongaxe.
---kathr4453 on 10/12/19

kathr4453:

You write: No Strongaxe, why are you policing this thread? You bust in other threads and disrupt the subject matter often...once asking you not to, you just ignored and continued.

I am not "policing this thread", nor "disrupcing subject matter". When someone else makes a comment (out of context or not) that makes claims that aren't substantiated, I (and anyone else reading them) have every right to challenge those claims. YOU are the one who suddenly decided to bring up sodomy in two separate threads that have nothing to do with that subject. You have yet to explain why you have done so. If you're so obsessed about the subject, why not create a separate thread for it?
---StrongAxe on 10/11/19

No Strongaxe, why are you policing this thread? You bust in other threads and disrupt the subject matter often...once asking you not to, you just ignored and continued.

Stop playing the hypocrite. Siodomy is an abomination to God.....and no amount of deflecting will change that.
---kathr4453 on 10/11/19

kathr4453:

You wrote: Yep I sure did Strongaxe and was addressing Cluny...not you. So why are you minding other peolple's business defending sodomy? That's the real question.

A better question is, why are you wasting this blog to attack it, since it has absolutely nothing to do with what was being discussed here? Why are you so obsessed with this one topic that you're currently hijacking two separate blogs to talk about it?
---StrongAxe on 10/11/19

Yep I sure did Strongaxe and was addressing Cluny...not you. So why are you minding other peolple's business defending sodomy? That's the real question.

kathr4453:

You wrote: you're the one deflecting bringing up scripture that is not even in the discussion.

ME Deflecting? This blog is about Greta Thunburg, yet on 10/8/19 you brought up sodomy totally out of the blue. You changed the subject, so now deal with it. Since you called it an abomination, it's fair to examine, just WHAT that word ACTUALLY means.

If ALL sin is an abomination, why does God single out certain ones as especially heinous? And why do Christians have such apoplectic fits over some abominations over others? I have yet to hear a church picketing Red Lobster or divorce court. Can you explain why that is?
---StrongAxe on 10/10/19

Sorry Strongaxe, but you're the one deflecting bringing up scripture that is not even in the discussion. We were not discussing the definition of "abomination" nor was anyone asked to list every verse using the word abomination....or wedding cakes. THAT IS A KELLY ANN CONWAY MOVE. All sin is an abomination to God ..you didn't know that? .....and its GOD one needs forgivness from, not each other. We're not talking about accepting each other's with all our faults and sin either...a totally different subject. That is where YOU have deflected.

It started out a simple statement based on scripture. It's ending with a simple statement based on scripture.
---kathr4453 on 10/10/19

All sin (missing the mark of Gods perfection) can be considered an abomination. All sin separates us from God and is detestable to Him (Romans 3:23, 6:23, Proverbs 15:9). Gods hatred of sin makes Christs sacrifice on the cross all the more remarkable. It was at the cross that God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21). As He suffered and died for our sin, Jesus could identify with the psalmist: I am a worm and not a man, scorned by everyone, despised by the people (Psalm 22:6). Jesus took our abominations upon Himself and gave us the gift of His righteousness in return. All who put their trust in Him will be saved.

I agree with the statement above.

kathr4453:

You wrote: Strongaxe, I find it interesting that many try to down play the issue by doing what Trump and Kelly Ann Conway do ....called DEFLECTING. Now you too? Surprising! Careful Strongaxe....

I note that you're not actually addressing the issues I brought up, but merely dismissing them out of hand. THAT is deflection.

I'm not downplaying anything. I'm showing what scripture ACTUALLY SAYS, without the vineer of dogma that people have been taught to believe without question.

When you want to know what God things about things, look about what he talks about the most. Those are the things he cares about most. Don't obsess about things he mentions rarely.

Linda, there is an older teen girl in our church who is autistic. She can communicate only by loud claps and screams.

I (as well as other members) pray frequently, several times a week, that she and her family will be granted a miracle.

Glory to Jesus Christ!
---Cluny on 10/8/19

kathr445:

What exactly ARE "abominations"?

Eating a peace offering on day 3 (Lv 7:18)
Eating shellfish (Lv 11:10-12), raptors (:13), creeping fowl (:20), flying insects (:23), creeping things (:41-42)
Incest (Lv 18:6-18), a woman during her period (:19), adultery (:20), offering seed to Moloch (:21, Dt 12:13, 18:10), lying with man as with women (:22 and 20:13), bestiality (:23)
Idolatry (Dt 7:25-26, 13:14)
Sacrificing blemished animals (Dt 17:1)
Diviners, witches, etc. (Dt 18:10-11)

It's curious how Christians forgive most of these, but are obsessed with one. I've never yet heard of a bakery that refused to bake a cake for remarrying divorcees.
---StrongAxe on 10/8/19

Strongaxe, aren't you addressing the wrong person here....please address Cluny on your last post. He seems to think so. I was rebuking him. Also you don't have to be a dr to know what AS is either. But since Cluny has made it his mission to assault me on every thread, but because I hit a nerve with his sodomy he keeps singling me out. If he really feels so strong about not diagnosing he should be calling you out as well ....correct? So let's add hypocrite to the list. Do I need to be a DX to see that in him too?
---kathr4453 on 10/9/19

kathr4453:

I'm not MD or psychologist, so I'm not competent to professionally diagnose anyone. Still, you don't need to be Julia Child to bake a cake. Some symptoms are so obvious, a layman can read them. I had several obviously schizophrenic friends (one was institutionalized 2-3 times, another said Jesus and angels and Greek gods spoke to him on a regular basis), several with obvious signs of BPD (some mild, some severe), and one with DID (with one suicidal alter that eventually killed him).

Many (but not all) professional psychologists who ARE experts agree Trump meets DSM criteria for NPD.

When someone dies, if another person makes the funeral all about himself instead of mourning, that's extremely disturbed.

Those who have DX Trump with NPD here are no DX either. Stop playing the hypocrite.

Strongaxe, AS and Autism are not new since the 60's. Neither are categorized with ADD or ADHD. With more data, research, training and many Schools implementing programs there is no excuse today for anyone to continue with a 60's level of ignorance.

Seeing Adults as bullies to other Adults with variables surely is a sign many in the older generation will never move forward but hold to those prejudices along with other prejudices they will carry until death. Their inability to learn new ways and research is why we see so many of these same closed minded opinionated men and women reject the research of science today in many areas of our life. One could include Climate research in the mix.

Then you need to be silent Cluny. Knowing NOTHING personally about any of the above question posted in the first place.

Cut and pasting definitions doesn't mean you grasp the meaning either.

AS are very verbal, unlike your definition. And Fasting makes you mean as a snake....regardless of what others or wiki say about it. You can't live off someone else's definition or experience pretending it's your own,

You need to examine your own failures before playing with others.
---kathr4453 on 10/7/19

Yes Cluny I remember that. But we warmed the planet so much it didn't happen. So when Scientist measure the water and it is staying hotter. That means it is not getting hotter? How does that work?

Cluny:

Such articles were speculation, as were ones like "Will Jesus return in 1988?".

However we now see icecaps melting to the point where polar bears are drowning on ice floes, you can sail a ship to the North Pole, parts of Greenland are now visible for the first time in history, and chunks of the Antarcta are falling into the sea. 97% of world scientists agree we are experiencing climate change. The remaining 3% work for fossil fuel interests who would be jeopardized if we start taking carbon footprints seriously.

I never said you did....I said spelling and looking up a definition doesn't mean you understand its meaning.

You made a claim based on some site you had to look up, obviously never KNOWING one personally with the disorder, to have first hand knowledge that whether you could spell the disorder or not you can see signs and symptoms in others.

There are umpteen disorders and diseases i'll bet Cluny could not spell. And my spelling mistake was a auto correct after I spelled it correctly.

Time for you to turn on your "auto correct", and not make the same mistake i did by doubting the first and allowing a wrong suggestion to take over.

For people with Asperger's, a role model emerges in Greta Thunberg
"For somebody who has Asperger's or is on the autism spectrum, her ability to be honest and disclose it in such an empowering way is what's inspirational."

Well so much for Asperger's being non verbal.

Also have to wonder if her Asperger's is what Trump was making fun of, like he did another a few years ago?

Maybe because of her Asperger's the Lutheran Church went a bit over the line....but they did walk it back.

I admit I did know either until I looked it up. Cluny

I find the sentence above by our own self stated stable genius does not know how to grammatically frame a coherent sentence.
---kathr445 on 10/4/19

Strongaxe, just an FYI that Psychology Today with several other online articles say it's difficult to distinguish the difference in NPD and Asperger syndrome with some folks.

If I didn't understand what Asperger's Syndrome was I would never have put 2+2 together here in the first place....something Cluny who claims to be all knowing didn't see the connection, because although he could spell it, didn't understand it, other than read a definition he still may not understand.
---kathr4453 on 10/4/19

Those with AS are very verbal. Many with Autism are also very verbal. There are various degrees with these two closely related. Mostly those with severe Autism show as nonverbal.

There are millions of professionals in this world with AS. Bill Gates confirms he has AS, and possibly Autism. Not only is he very verbal, but also has specific learning disabilities. Many with very high IQ's have what is called Specific Learning Disabilities. Spelling, illegible handwriting, basic math, are just a few areas. Albert Einstein had the SLD with difficulty in spelling.

Making unwarranted and ignorant comments is why so many school children suffer depression. Educating parents here online is why I posted.

Does sound like Trump.

Cluny's misspelled words over the years has rendered him most ignorant by his own statement. I own mine, he however makes up lame excuses because his pride won't allow him to admit he's human. Just like Trump, will never admit error.

I am a terrible speller, often using spell check that puts in misspelled words if you ever misspelled one before. ANYWAY! Albert Einstein, was a terrible speller along with our Current Stable GENIUS along with many very intelligent folks , who know ones spelling has nothing to do with whether one knows the meaning. This is something Cluny has AGAIN LIED and made up, tiring out his same ol same ol comment because he's too unoriginal to think up a new insult. So BOORING !
---kathr4453 on 10/4/19

StrongAxe, I'm not denying that Trump might have NPD (I'm not in a position to be able to dx it), and that is doubtless one of his more endearing qualities.

But saying that inability to spell a word is a good sign one knows nothing about it is something that observation has taught me over the years. It's not an ad hominem attack. (What would you call accusing someone by name of sitting in dirty Depends with diaper rash, btw?)

As you can see from the definition I cut and pasted, kath is obviously totally ignorant of what Asperger syndrome really is. I admit I did know either until I looked it up.

Glory to Jesus Christ!
---Cluny on 10/4/19

Cluny:

"Your point is invalid because you spelled it wrong" is an ad hominem attack, and makes as much sense as "I don't believe in Relativity because Einstein had messy hair." Everyone, including you and i, make these kinds of mistakes too.

The only time criticizing spelling is relevant is when specifically discussing it, or when one makes a point of saying a particular spelling is correct, or when what is written is so confusing, it's impossible to understand. Correcting another's error pvoes such misunderstanding is not there.

Trump's problem is Narcisisstic Personality Disorder. You think everything in the world revolves around you. Even his eulogies are all about his own accomplishments.
---StrongAxe on 10/4/19

\\ And repeating his big brag he's a "stable genius" over and over makes me wonder if he doesn't have ausbergers syndrome in some form or fashion.\\

Not being able to spell Asperger's syndrome properly is a good sign you know nothing about it, kath.

Here is the definition of it:

"Asperger syndrome (AS), also known as Asperger's, is a developmental disorder characterised by significant difficulties in social interaction and nonverbal communication, along with restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests."

Whatever Trump's issues, these are not his symptoms.

I don't think the Lutheran Church would be apologizing for Greta being a follower of Christ. At least Greta unlike Trump didn't repeat it, bask in it and then say, "I'm the Chosen one" right after. The difference between Trump and Greta is Trump constantly repeats this nonsense, where Greta did not.

Also a genius doesn't brag about being a genius. And repeating his big brag he's a "stable genius" over and over makes me wonder if he doesn't have ausbergers syndrome in some form or fashion. Having common sense or morals takes no stable genius to begin with.

Steveng, JS1234 showing the news and what was said, your question was a great one. Thank you for asking it.
---kathr4453 on 10/3/19

I wonder of the original Swedish didn't really mean that Greta is a FOLLOWER of Jesus Christ.

Since I can't read Swedish, I suppose I'll never know.

And according to CBS, a second hand source claimed Trump said Israel loved him AS IF HE WERE their king.

I'm not a fan of Trump, but I'm merely trying to set the record straight.

---Cluny on 10/3/19

Don't blame Greta for what the Church said and did. They were rebuked for saying she was a successor to Jesus Christ and they apologized.

My understanding this is a very LIBERAL Lutheran Church. It's possible that only one person made that comment, that blew up.

Trump claimed to be King of Israel not long ago. I'm sure that too came from the heretics that feed his mind and ego with such nonsense.

Since Greta herself didn't personally claim that position based on anothers nonsense, good for her. She was just being exploited by those who should know better.
