Haz27:

Mt 6:33: Right shouts "Lord! Lord!", yet act otherwise (Mt 7:21). Child molestations come more frequently from conservative politicians and pastors. They vote down social safety nets that keep poor people from starving (Mt 25:31-46).

MK 16:15: Preaching one thing and doing another is hypocrical pharisaism, not the gospel.

Racists? KKK and neo-Nazis run as REPUBLICANS.

Lies? Trump told 30,000+ lies in office.

Corruption? All Democrat administrations in the past 50 years had 3 criminal indictments. Republicans before Trump had 100+. Trump's ALONE had 200+.

Trump is the ultimate narcissist, and his followers let him.

Only a brainwashed follower of the right would claim otherwise.

AXE. The Progressive Left have proven themselves to be the very antithesis of Christ and his teachings, just like Satan is.

They are narcissists, haters, racists, oppressive authoritarians, Christophobes whose record for genocide, Pharisee-like Cancel culture, corruption, lies, etc shows that they are so unlike Christ that only a brainwashed follower of the Progressive Left would claim otherwise.

My own findings about Progressive Left Christianity have shown that they have no regard for Christs priorities for humanity as seen in John 3:16, Matthew 6:33, Mark 16:15, Matthew 7:21, Matthew 25:31-46, John 13:34.

Haz27:

You totally mischaracteriz "Progressive". Satan didn't rebel against God's path because he thought it was bad, but because it wasn't all about HIM. He is a narcissist.

Pharisees were very conservative. They were ultra-specific about every single point of the law. They didn't care about people - only the Law. They hated Jesus because he played fast and loose with the law (e.g. curing people on the Sabbath - oh, the horror!)

Jesus was progressive - he loved people, and thought the law was made to serve people, and not the other way around. The Pharisees hated that - just as conservatives hate progressives today.

YET AGAIN: People who cry "Lord! Lord!" are BELIEVERS.

AXE. Satan is a Progressive as he sought to overturn and progress from God s established path to righteousness by faith.

Jesus is Conservative as he worked to conserve God s established path to righteousness by faith.

The Progressive Left today are renowned for their self serving virtue signaling, hypocrisy, Cancel culture, hate, racism, thought policing, conceit, etc. Such characteristics were likewise a big part of the Pharisees identity.

Jesus says to believe in him (John 3:16, John 6:29, 40), and works that shows this faith are to preach this same gospel we believed in to the spiritually hungry and naked Unsaved (James 2).
---Haz27 on 11/26/22

Haz27:

Those people call him "Lord! Lord!". How is it possible to say that to someone who one does NOT believe in?! The idea is ridiculous.

Jesus SPECIFICALLY said not all who call on him will be saved, ONLY those who do the will of the father. Many believe in Jesus, but only superficially.

Yes, "virtue signalling" is bad (and this is EXACTLY what Matthew 7 is talking about), but I presume that you're talking about such people on the left. Remember that Pharisees (both today and 2000 years ago) are and were CONSERVATIVES - who upheld traditional notions of piety, and thumbed their noses down at anyone else they thought were "beneath them" - which is also a common conservative conceit today.

AXE. Clearly those Jesus rejects in Matt 7 were NOT believers otherwise he would not reject them.

James 2:14-17 speaks of works showing faith, such as feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, which refers to preaching same gospel (John 3:16) that we believe in, to unsaved souls who are the spiritually hungry (lacking Christ, John 6:35, 1Cor 10:3,4), spiritually naked (lacking garment of salvation, Isa 61:10).

I've seen professing Believers who are (political) social justice virtue signalers (read Matt 6:1-6 to see what Jesus thinks of such self serving hypocrisy) who show no regard for John 3:16. Such seem to fit the description of goats in Matt 25:31-46 who neglect spiritually needy unsaved ("least of these").
---Haz27 on 11/25/22

Haz27:

So, again, for the third time:

Who were the people in Matthew 7 who said "Lord, Lord!", yet Jesus rejected, saying "I never knew you!"? These are clearly believers, because they called him Lord - yet they were rejected, despite their belief.

I'm really curious to hear your explanation.

AXE. Believing in Jesus is the will of God. See John 6:40.

John 6:28,29 Jesus says the works of God we do is to believe in Him.

These works of believing in Jesus manifests in ways such as preaching the same gospel (John 3:16) we believe in, to the unsaved who are spiritually hungry (lacking Christ our spiritual food. John 6:35, 1Cor 10:3,4), and spiritually naked (lacking garment of salvation, Isa 61:10).

When we preach GOSPEL OF PEACE (Rom 10:15, Eph 2:17, Eph 6:15, Col 1:20) we are the PEACEMAKERS in Matt 5:9 who Jesus describes as SONS OF GOD.

The will of God, the works that shows our faith, and the fact that it's the sin of UNBELIEF the world is convicted of (John 16:9), all points to John 3:16.

---Haz27 on 11/24/22

Haz27:

This is what I have been trying to say all along. Mere belief alone is NOT sufficient. You ALSO have to do the will of the father.

Just as James says - we are saved through faith, but our works DEMONSTRATE that our faith is actually valid, and not just lips flapping meaninglessly in the wind.

AXE. This is the message in Rom 5.
Rom 5 true believers (those who DO THE WILL OF GOD , Matt7:21) have been JUSTIFIED BY FAITH and thus have PEACE WITH GOD, having been RECONCILED to Him.

Through the 1st Adam SIN entered the world and DEATH through SIN (v12). Through Adam's disobedience we were made SINNERS (V19), and thus ENEMIES of God (v10), resulting in CONDEMNATION (v18) & DEATH (v12) which is the wages of sin.

But through Christ's obedience , true believers are made righteous (v19) and thus no longer able to be charged with the SIN, CONDEMNATION, DEATH that ENEMIES of God face.

Hence why scriptures like 1John 3:8 says those who SIN are of the devil.
1John 3:9 says those born of God CANNOT sin.

Haz27:

C. S. Lewis said there were two equally dangerous positions Christians could take towards demons. One was to dismiss them. The other was to take an altogether unhealthy obsession towards them. Jesus said perfect love casts out fear - yet so many Christians today are absolutely paranoid, seeing demons under every rock.

I saw a social media post a while back, where a woman need some help, and a total stranger helped her out. She told him "You must be a Christian". He said he wasn't. She suddenly got very cold, and assumed that this was an agent of Satan sent to tempt her by pretending to be nice. She couldn't just graciously accept help from a nice person. She suddenly had to become self-righteous and judgmental.

Strange trends can come and go in churches.
I recall several decades ago there was Holy Spirit laughing in churches, and fears of demons in Cabbage patch dolls, etc. Now we don't hear of such absurdities anymore.
---Haz27 on 11/21/22

Samuel, actually Benny Hinn claimed to have laid on Amy McPhersons grave because he wanted her anointing of the Holy Spirit to cover him.

Talk about witchcraft. Don't they as Christians know the soul and spirit have left the decaying flesh?

It really makes me wonder exactly what they believe regarding salvation at all.
---kathr4453 on 11/20/22

There are people in Hillstrong who believe if you lay on the grave of one of the prophets. You will get spiritual power. Others speak of them as being little gods.

Positive Confession is one that is HUGE infiltrating the Church. It also goes hand in hand with The power of positive thinking. The song "I speak Jesus" another example. Seems like the Gov of Oklahoma claimed the state for Jesus. The idea we can GO BEYOND scripture and have personal power to claim things no scripture supports. Much of the music now being sung with its repetition is New Age Incantations.

I think of church music as prayer. We're singing in prayer. But if you take away the melody and just listen to the words, it's repetitious, and much is actually false doctrine.

God rebukes repetition in prayer.

Just study it's meaning and you'll be surprised.
---kathr4453 on 11/16/22

It's hard to comment about this, unless you give some examples of the kinds of "New Age Incantations" that you're talking about, because those terms are very broad.
