Works Pleasing To God
Nicole, I answered your question("Are you saying those works of NOT feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, visiting the sick are God's fault?"), my answer, 'no'.
"I got that idea because of your whole blog using Paul's words to (seem to) discount Jesus' Words."
Nicole, "seem to" is your perspective. I in no way desire or attempted to discount Jesus' words. As for Mt 25:31-46 I see no conflict.
works themselves don't save.
Some do "good" 1Cor 13, but lack love/charity, "charitable" works without belief in God, some missed opportunity when they did not do for the least of these. this is more than missing an isolated opportunity, but more so missing a way, which IS Christ

Works Pleasing To God
"Are you saying those works of NOT feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, visiting the sick are God's fault?" No. Where did you get that idea?

""//Interesting that the verse ends with "that we should walk in them" rather than we should do them.--chria9396
V10 is speaking about the TYPE of workmanship that results in good works. Christ's workmanship.""

gift of God vs 8
not of works vs 9
we are HIS workmanship...(God's)
created in Christ Jesus
unto good works
which God hath before ordained
THAT we should walk in them

Works Pleasing To God

Thanks, and as you've said many times, all praises due the Father.

Blogs Problems

I am using firefox.

Right now only 2 current blogs are listed normally, the third one down closed on Sept 18. There are more than 2 blogs that have been active since the 18th,.

Moderators have not responded. I can't recall when I last saw a moderator on cnet. There is no longer a direct link from christianets main page, also accessed above by the Mall tab.

Blogs Problems
Refreshing the browser is not helping. A few days ago I responded to an old blog "Works pleasing to God". Only the 5 most recent blogs appear on the page, that one does not, and since it's an old blog it's not found in the "view most recent blogs" tab. I noticed this when someone elses reply to an old blog disappeared from the list even though their response was made more recently then some responses to blogs lower down on the list.

Also note that starting with the sixth blog and down to the bottom of the page, there is no category such as salvation or number or replies, but there's a comma.

Works Pleasing To God
Not "our" works per se, but rather works prepared by God, as the believer is also prepared. He works within to will and to do, and believers are "his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." Eph 2:8-10

It is significant that God ordained/prepared the works before.

Interesting that the verse ends with "that we should walk in them" rather than we should do them.

We cannot please God by OUR works, any, all good things, are of Him, not ourselves

Pope Francis Prayers
"Sam: You and Chira need to study the true history of Islam because your lives depend on it."

My/our lives depend upon the Lord.

Also, I was not referring to Islam, but simply that a particular word could mean many different things to different individuals.

I prefer to study scripture to Islam or it's history.

And, I hope my opinions are being formed, even changed by the truth, not by men's arguments, a political party or media

Pope Francis Prayers
What "Allah" means to any particular individual I do not wish to judge. For some it may simply be God, as may be so for Dios.

he that cometh to God must believe that He (God)is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

Too Much Bickering
"But love without a foundation isn't love, but Make-Believe." john9346 on 6/18/17

Re:foundation: Founded upon Jesus Christ, gospel, the true picture and manifestation of love

1 Cor 3:11 "For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ."

"Nevertheless the foundation of God stands sure" 2 pet 2:19

Concerning bickering:

"For there must be also heresies (factions, sects, divisions) among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you." 1 Cor 11:19
parenthesis...words used in various versions

Too Much Bickering
Arguing and bickering are not what the gospel (good news) looks like or to be a Christian. I agree that love is the picture of the gospel, and not the fear of what is false. The Father makes known Truth, and truth dispels fear of what is false. Trusting Him, a christian has an assurance of Truth and what is false has no place.

Finish It Here June 2017
John on 6/3:
"Ma'am, are you sure?" Yes.See my post on 5/19 with statement you quoted as Joseph having said, in particular ", "Why do you believe this would indicate failure? As sovereign, is God able to allow choice in what one believes concerning Truth?" However, as far as I am concerned, this is not a problem.
"Did you read Joseph's Replies..."I have skimmed through but would like to read through and consider.
I brought up the subject only because I had not replied quickly.

Can God Be Sovereign
I notice John attributed my responses to Joseph on 5/20.

Because of limited space: 2 Cor 5:14,14,19
"...that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again"

"God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them,"

2 Pet 3:9 He is not willing that any should perish

Can God Be Sovereign
John:You asked me a similar question: "If the Lord Jesus Christ died for every singgle person, then every singgle person would be save...

If the Lord Jesus died to save everybody and some go to hell then he would be a failure..."

Why do you believe this would indicate failure? As sovereign, is God able to allow choice in what one believes concerning Truth?

Rom 3:3"what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?"
Concerning "His people" used sometimes for Israel exclusively, but also mankind, as all belong to the LORD

How Is God Love
"Is God making this choice before were even born"

From what I understand, God chooses,He chooses before we are born, but has foreknowledge of choice one makes, BUT the choice is by His influence or not, so even the ones who choose, do so because of His work in them, so that in all things He gets the glory...we can do NO good thing or ourselves AND all good things come from Him, so any/all good that any do, is to the praise of the Father.
What is predestined is that "those who believe (who so ever)...Those, not being a select group of named/predetermined individuals but has been open to all that Jesus died for. Those who WILL win the pri

How Did Life Begin
"Did the universe and all life have a naturalistic or a supernatural beginning?"
Both. Understanding depends on perspective...From mans, beginning is supernatural. From Gods, it is naturalistic in that it is of, by, in accordance with His nature/character, His essence.
So that, what is natural to man and natural to God are not always viewed the same.
Verses concerning life, both natural/mortal and eternal...
"Through Him all things were made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men."Jn 1:3-5
"For in him we live, and move, and have our being" Acts 17:28
"he giveth to all life, and breath" vs 25
(Acts 17:24-28)

Spirit Goes To Heaven
I agree that the dead are not (yet) ascended into heaven. as for "Now we have the highest heaven were God is, Psalm 115:16 , There also a Third heaven , 2 Corinthians 12:2 - Different Levels ?" RichardC on 2/20/17,

Psalm 115:16 KJV
" The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men."

2 Cor 12:1 "...visions and revelations of the Lord.", vs 2 "...such an one caught up to the third heaven."
I had thought before of levels, but another possibility is the new heaven (and earth) in a third age/eon, the age to come.

Finish It Here HIV Positive
It had been my understanding that the Catholic Church's stance on birth control is that it is OK as long as it is not abortive, such as things which either prevent the implantation of a fertilized egg or something that would destroy or eliminate a fertilized egg soon after conception.

Things which prevent conception would be OK.

Marriage Of HIV Couples
Should one with HIV be treated as some would a leper?

BTW,STDs of all sorts may be transmitted in various ways, though perhaps less common. Many have been known to come in contact in labs for instance, or through blood transfusions given for medical conditions.
