David. Jesus established some rituals. Like Baptism. Others came about in history. Having a ritual unless it contradicts what the Bible says does not make any group to not follow the Bible. Only a ritual or doctrine that does not follow the Bible is wrong.

Being human we can be wrong. But not understanding or misunderstanding does not make a person lost. We are saved by grace through faith not by doctrine.

There are two principals all Christians will live by. They Love GOD. They love and act in love to others.

Did Paul Replace Judas

Paul was an Apostle. But Judas was gone. The Bible does not say that he replaced Judas. So we cannot say that he did.

A person can say they consider him a replacement. That is certainly a point that can be considered. But it is not provable.

Hello Nicole. I once had a debate with a oneness Pentecostal to convince him the RCC is Christian.

Anyway I use the term Roman Catholic due to my background in History and that I am a little picky about terms. Which occasionally gets me in trouble with the wife. For instance there was a Universal catholic church until the Great Schism in 1054. The church was a combination of Orthodox and Roman Catholic.

We Seventh day Adventist don't drink Alcohol. I know many RCC who do.

Back when meat was banned on Fridays. I went to a Quinceanera There was still great and wonderful food.

Did Paul Replace Judas

No. Paul was a special Apostle set apart by Jesus on the Road to Damascus.

The words of Paul and Jesus agree. But some people pick small parts of the words of Paul and make it sound like Paul and Jesus don't agree.

2Pe 3:15-17
And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation, even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you,

As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. ...

Matthew 25 is about the difference between fake Christians and real one.

They act in love of GOD and love others. Instead of just words.

Matthew 7:20-24 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

My Father in law used to say. I am Roman Catholic not like these half way people.

We use Roman Catholic to differentiate between the church lead by the Bishop of Rome and those who are not under his leadership. I also live in Texas. Many Hispanics say Roman Catholic. But it is not universal as you say.

For instance to me the Seventh day Adventist church is catholic. Since we are of many nations and people throughout the world.

But we are not under the Bishop of Rome. Our High Priest is Jesus Christ.

Roman Catholics are indeed Christians. We disagree with the Theology.

Brother Sister In Christ

Nicole they are not twin brothers according to Latter day Saints doctrines. Just same Father different mothers.

Since GOD has multiple wives.

The Book of Mormon has very bad history.

American Indians are not Jews.

New Covenant With Israel

The problem in Galatians is that the Pharisee Christians wanted the Gentiles to keep Circumcision and add works to be saved.

The New Covenant has the law written in our hearts. Hebrews 8:8-10 The church is Israel.

The Ten Commandments are to be written in our hearts in Love. Christians obey because they are saved. They walk in love. Love fulfills the law. Romans 13. When you love you don't want to break the Ten Commandments.

Very good points Strong Ax.

Today we have leaders. They are titled Bishops in the Bible. Church leaders. But they are not Apostles since they didn't live as you say in the first Century.

Paul was an Apostle but by divine vision. No one can add to the Bible today.

That is one of the big mistakes many make. LDS included. They follow a Charismatic person instead of following Jesus and the Bible.

I have had Pentecostals tell me it is what they feel that counts. Not what the Bible says. This is true of other people in other churches. They follow their emotions.

Thank you John very good points.

There was a recent show on the History channel about James the forgotten brother of Jesus. It also spoke on the Ossuary.

Peter reported to James the Bishop of Jerusalem. Which was first. Long before there was a Church in Rome.

Sola Scriptura is what is taught in the Bible.

Scriptures Of The Early Church

The Early Scriptures used by Christians was the Old Testament. Jews were very literate people. Many heard the entire Bible read and others owned many parts of it. But Paul started writing and the Gospels were written about 30 years after the death of Jesus. That is historian best guess.

Mark is considered the first Gospel written and Galatians first letter written.

There is many places you can check this out. But there are some people out there trying to prove the Bible false who make many claims not backed up with facts.

Dear Monk.

We have always been Civil. Now you stated the Catholic and Orthodox. Which is more than many Roman Catholics do.

I will disagree a little. The Early church was catholic. Not Roman Catholic. I am sure you know that catholic means universal.

But the Roman Catholic came much latter. To me as the church gained power the Gospel was held but the leaders started substituting traditions which often enriched the leaders and hid the Gospel. But the Christian core held. But as the leaders built themselves up they failed to keep the Gospel pure.

Which is why the Reformers tried to bring the church back to the Bible.

Sola scriptura is based on the words of the Bible.

No one is saved by works.

But no one who is saved will not work. All those who are saved will produce fruit.

Galatians 5:18-25 ... But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Ephesians 2. Love works.

God Of Old New Testament

It seems that some people here have trouble with the Trinity doctrine.

The Bible never uses the word Trinity. Since it is a theological term used by men to help describe the GODHEAD.

One GOD three persons. That the Trinity is true is easy to find. Hard to understand.

Many find a difference between GOD in the Old and New Testament. Me not so much. Jesus is GOD so when we look at Jesus we see who GOD is.

Monk you forget that the Jew understood them to be good books but not scripture.

Nor that many Scholars over the centuries looked on them as lessor. So not 1500 years of history.

By the way I have read them. I have a Catholic Bible that I have read. Plus a Second that I have only half read.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand, By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

This is the Gospel. Those who believe will love GOD and love others. Works happen because you love. They are part of the fruit of being filled with the Holy Spirit.

Christ Baptist Church

So true Mark. So true.

Hope you have a Happy New Year.

Let us keep our eyes on Jesus.

Seventh day Adventist are boring. We mostly name our churches after their location.
