All We Need Is Love
Cluny wrote: "...are you saying that processed foods made Christianity lose its way ...?"

You usually pick and choose what you try to accuse someone, eh? Have you not read my entire post? What you chose is just one item of dozens that affect the human mind. I have a simple motto in life: whatever man created in the laboratory is detrimental to the body, whatever God created is healthy to the body.

Look at the world around you, Satan, using man, is destroying God's creation to the point of deceiving who we are. How many genders do we need? And what about microaggression that has proliferated within the past two years by college and antifa members? You think they just popped up (think of the boiled frog analogy)?

So, you're easily provoked to anger? Besides, your animation attracted my attention.

Cluny wrote: "...why you think that Christianity got off the rails in the 1960's..."

Two topics that I investigated: one, toxic contamination is all around us every day of our lives which contributed to the sickest generation ever and, two, human behavior.

The 1960s was the turning point in the world when young people went against the establishment, which became exponentially worse since they grew up and had kids, and experimenting with mind altering drugs.

As for toxic environment: processed foods, vaccinations, GMOs, water pollution, soil pollution, outdoor/indoor air pollution, radiation, fluoridation, - and anything else that is man-made after the 1960s. The list goes on.

Not a christian response.

Out of the twenty plus verses I gave (and there are hundreds of others) and you still continue to think that obedience is work?

The bible teaches us to love others, so how does one love, as in the verb form, others.

What is true religion?

What about those people who do not believe in God or Jesus, but, yet, will have eternal life?

Obedience is NOT works.

All We Need Is Love
Cluny, you understood what I wrote and others will also understand. Why debate over semantics when the heart is what is most important. Besides, you write it your way, I'll write it my way as long as people understand.

You say pohtaytoh, I'll say pohtahtoh. A rose by any other name is still a rose, eh?

New Covenant With Israel
Why do today's christians believe that the Holy Spirit was only for them?

God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. The Spirit of God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

The Spirit came upon such Old Testament people as Joshua, David and Saul.

Helping those in need are works based upon "love," as in the verb form. The following verses of works based upon faith:

James 2:14-17
Galatians 6:2
1 John 3:17-18
Matthew 25:35-40
Proverbs 22:9
Hebrews 13:16
Isaiah 25:4
Acts 20:35-38
Isaiah 1:17
Mark 12:31
Proverbs 29:7
Ephesians 4:28
Romans 15:1
1 Timothy 5:8
Deuteronomy 15:7-8,10
Galatians 6:7-10
Hebrews 6-10
Isaiah 58:10-11
Isaiah 61:1
Luke 3:11
Proverbs 21:26

There are many more verses like these and are from the old and new testament. These verses come from the heart not tithing to a denominational church or charity. Unfortunately, love today has practically evaporated from this world.

All We Need Is Love
For over two thousand years, Satan has infiltrated and divided christiandom up into over sixty five thousand denominations worldwide each having their own rituals, traditions, ways of living, and interpretations of the bible.

True love, as in the verb form, has practically evaporated off the face of this world. Many denominational christians know the meaning of love, but do not know how to put it into practice on a personal level.

The great falling away from the faith began in the 1960s and has exponentially gotten worse within the past few years. Keep in mind that one must have faith to begin with in order to fall away from it.

Fairy Tale Christians
People, including christians, believe hoaxes, lies and fairy tales because Satan has deceived them. Satan is the god of this world and will deceive the world - even the elite, if that is possible. Since Satan has only a short time left, he will be exponentially busy.

The world is experiencing the great falling away from the faith (Keep in mind that one must have faith to begin with in order to fall away).

Love, true love, as in the verb form, has practically evaporated from the face of this world. Sure, christian know the meaning of love, but does not know how to put it into practice even though the bible is full of examples.

The gospel is simply this:

the soon-to-come Kingdom of God...

Matthew 4:23
Matthew 9:35
Matthew 24:14
Mark 1:14

...and how to get there.

New Covenant With Israel
Mark_Eaton wrote: "First, the OT was made with Israel. The NT, extends to all mankind (Rom. 1).

On the contrary, the OT was suppose to be for all mankind. God chose the israelites (it could have been any group of people) to bring God's word to the world. They failed. They thought it was only for them just like the christians today.

Unlike most of the people on this site, I'm not on it every single day. I do have a real life to attend to.

By the way, how does it make you feel when posting my name as "StephenG" instead of my given screen name "Steveng"? ((8= & #8286,))

Without Law No Sin
kathr4453 wrote: "Please KNOW the difference."

After reading many of your posts, please take a six month sabbatical and read the bible with the help of the Holy Spirit. Read the bible through the eyes of a child for better understanding what was written 2,000 years ago - not understanding using today's worldly knowledge.

There is no "buts" concerning the word of God.

Samuelbb7 wrote: "So the images aren't sin. It is what we do with them."

According to the bible God frowns on graven images and pictures because they not only give a false impression, but people tend to attach themselves to the image.

Can Religion Save Me
michael_e wrote: "I "assume" from reading James 1:1 that he is speaking to the 12 tribes of Israel under Law."

You assume again. God chose the israelites to bring his word to the world. They failed thinking it was only for them just as the christians today wrongly think the NT is only for them.

michael_e wrote: "But we are not under Law,..."

We are still under the law. The NT repeats everything taught under the OT laws. The difference is the OT is of a physical nature, the NT is of a spiritual nature.

Besides, all scriptures is for our benefit. What scriptures were Jesus and the apostles teaching from since there was no NT?

Many people today, including christians, read and interpret the bible using the knowledge they were taught growing up. The number of English words surpassed the one million mark a couple of years ago each having multiple definitions and many having opposite definitions than the original meaning. I'm not boasting, but just to let you know that I've been an educator for over 40 years, mainly math and English, taught college for four years and I see the dumbing down of our children since the 1980s, especially with federally mandated common core curriculum.
