What Is Sin Nature
In Rom. 6, the word "sin" is used 17 times. 16 of those times the article "the" is present in the original Greek but was removed by the KJ translators for clarity. Therefore, Paul was not referring to an act of sin but the sin nature. In 6:12, Paul personifies the sin as a king that reigns in the heart of the believer who has taken his faith away from the Proper Object, Who is Christ and Him Crucified. At salvation, one is crucifed with Christ and has risen to newness of life. He now has a new nature, and the SN is rendered inoperative. It will awaken when one takes his eyes off of Christ's Finished Work. One must always look to Christ in every aspect of one's life.
