Weapons For Strongholds

It does not mean we "cannot" sin. That is impossible since we still have the flesh to deal with. It means we "should not sin"
---Mark_V. 5/2/11
In Christ, we are given the power to overcome. "And ye know that he was manisfested to take away our sins, and in Him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in Him sinneth not" 1 John 3:5,6
"To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne" Rev 3:21
I do not argue with God- if He says we can overcome sin through Christ, then it means that we can, and this work of sanctification lasts our entire lifetime. The closer we walk with Christ, the less desirable sin becomes.

Weapons For Strongholds

You do judge me and others as if you are without sin, just like all the others SDA's. Most of you are self-righteous hypocrites and the reason many say SDA's are a cult.- MarkV
================
You are not judged, we love you as a fellow member of family of Christ. As I have said before, it is your conscience that is pricked that causes you to lash out and say hurtful words against SDA's. I have seen this happen before. When one hears words from Bible they do not wish to believe or follow, they attack character of messenger in a futile attempt to quiet their awakened conscience. Change focus from message to messenger, but it will not work. Holy Spirit will continue to convict your conscience and Bible truth will continue to be preached

Is There A PreTribulation Rapture

Fire is in reference to judgment (punishment). If they die, there is no punishment.
---Mark_V. on 5/5/11
"The wages of sin is death" Romans 6:23 Death means death, they die. The punishment for sin IS death.
"For behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven, and all the proud, yea, all that do wickedly, shall be stubble and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of Hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. ..and ye shall tread down the wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of Hosts" Malachi 4: 1,3

Is There A PreTribulation Rapture

Jesus will come the second time, following at least seven earth years, at the close of the tribulation era, known also as Daniels 70th week. ---michael_e on 5/5/11
Daniel's 70th week was fulfilled after the 69th week. All 70 weeks were in order: from 457 BC to 34 AD. The last week was from 27 AD to 34 AD. In the midst of the last week, Christ died, in 31 AD. Sacrifices cease in the midst of the 70th week (Dan 9:27) when Christ died on the cross. There is no logical reason to pluck this 70th week out from the order of the past and apply it to some non descript unknown time in the future. The 490 years (70 "weeks") were alloted to the Jews and they ended in 34 AD

Heaven Or New Earth

Unless one has already been judged (John 5:14) after death comes the judgment
---leej 10/9/10

"I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit...the judgment was set and the books were opened" Dan 7:9,10

"And I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven...Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him, for the hour of his judgment is come" Rev 14:6,7

The hour of God's judgment has come in these last days since 1844. The judgment goes over books, the records of lives after they have occurred. If people went directly to heaven or hell at death since the time of Christ, this indicates a judgment before the end of time which contradicts Rev 14.

What Is The Second Death

Lazarus. (whom God helps). Another form of the Hebrew name, Eleazar.

Matthew 15:22-28 we find the expression "...yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table."
The Gentile dogs, those that the Jews did not expect to be heir to the promise

Eleazar was to be the heir of all that was Abraham's until the birth of Isaac.
Gen 15:2 And Abram said, Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?
After the birth of Isaac, Eleazar was denied these promises, he was no longer the heir.
But now we see Lazarus (Eleazar, the gentile) the recipient of those promises in Abraham's bosom while the rich man has been lost

What Is The Second Death

Jerry, The Story of Lazarus and the Rich Man from LUKE 16 tells what happens at Death. I believe they were real people that existed.
---Gordon on 9/19/10
Luke 16:19-31 is a Parable, designed to teach the promises made to Abraham of a Messiah would be fulfilled in Gentiles, represented by Lazarus (Eleazor) and those who were heirs to promises, The Rich Man (Judah, 1 of 6 brothers by Leah!) would be cast out. This is the true meaning of this Parable. It does not teach heaven and hell. Parable is a fictional story with a moral point
Lazarus. (whom God helps). Another form of the Hebrew name, Eleazar

What Is The Second Death

By "the bosom of Abraham" we are to understand the return of Christ, the resurrection of the dead, the establishment of Christ's Kingdom on earth.

Abraham was promised great lands, an earthly inheritance (Gen.17:4-8) but he never received it while alive:
Heb 11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed, and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
Heb 11:10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
Heb 11:13 These all died in faith..

So the Bosom of Abraham is the future Kingdom when Christ returns and dead are raised. When the promises that Abraham saw "afar off" are realized.

What Is The Second Death

"For the wages of sin is death" Rom 6:23

The first lie Satan gave Eve was that death was not really death, but living on in an exalted state of existence "Ye shall not surely die.."

God means what he says. The wages of sin is death, ceasing to exist

"The soul that sinneth, it shall die" Ezek 18:20 but the devil comes behind and says "Oh this does not actually mean that you will really die, it only means spiritual death"

The Bible is clear

Sin = Death
Jesus = Eternal Life

"The Gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" Rom 6:23

Sin caused the death of Jesus to pay the price of our sins. Did Jesus not actually die? Yes he did

What Is The Lord's Day

Do you have something new to say?
---Cluny on 9/15/10
Cluny, you speak as if this blog is to you alone. It is not. There a many people who read these blogs, who never post. Some are new, who have never heard the truth from the Bible regarding the Sabbath and what day is the Lord's day. The answers from the Bible are for them, not you, because you have already rejected the clear scriptural weight of evidence that shows what day is the Lord's Day and what day is the Sabbath.

The answers from the Bible are always the same, because God never changes, and is the same yesterday, today and forever. Hebrews 13:8. By the same token, the Sabbath is the same, still being the 7th day, or Saturday. It is the Lord's Day.

Modern Judaizers Follow Law

We believe that the Ten Commandements are written in the heart of christians by the HOLY SPIRIT when we are born again.
---Samuel on 2/5/10

"This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord. I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them" Hebrews 10:16 See also Heb 8:10

"But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts.." Jeremiah 31:33

Hebrews is quoting Jeremiah, and it refers to the 10 commandments being written in our hearts. Old Testament words! and totally applicable!

Early Gentile Converts Sabbath

Being that many of the early Christians were Jewish and continued in the Mosaic tradition, allowance was made for them to observe the Sabbath, but such was not imposed on the Gentile church.
---Lee1538 on 1/15/10
If this were true, we would have a double standard in place, Jewish Christians observing the Sabbath under pain of death, claiming the words of the 4th commandment, while Gentile Christians did what they wanted on Sabbath with no punishment being done to them, claiming they did not have to obey! Imagine the uproar something of this magnitude would have accomplished! It would have been written about, called the impossible double standard of Christians, and done dispite to the law of God.

Early Gentile Converts Sabbath

And the word of God does not tell the church to observe the Sabbath.
---Lee1538 on 1/16/10
Jesus did it by example. He is our example in all things, and He observed the Sabbath. He kept it as His custom was while alive, and in death He made it a memorial to His death. Jesus, who created us (John 1:1-3), then rested on the 7th day, also redeemed us, then rested on the 7th day (He was in the grave from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday) therebye making the Sabbath the dual memorial of creation and redemption. In this way the NT shows the Sabbath is still to be observed, as a memorial of Jesus' redemption (as well as His creation, which the 4th commandment points out).
The Sabbath is even more special now, not done away with!

Explain Lazarus Parable

This Lazarus Parable does not teach hell fire. The point of the Parable I have already posted, and it seems to go ignored by all posting because they want to hold onto the false idea that it teaches hell fire.

Lazarus, Eleazor, means Whom God Helps, the Gentiles who were not heirs to the promise

The Rich man is Judah, heirs to the promise, but being cast out..

Judah was one of six brothers, those born of Jacob and Leah. It was unto Judah that the promise of the Messiah was to come. He received the blessing:

Now the parable can be seen. Judah, the rich man, who had the promise of the Messiah made to father Abraham, has rejected it and Lazarus, the Gentile, through belief in the risen Christ has received the blessing

Heaven Immediately At Death

Gina7: "There are only 2 classes in the Bible, the righteous and the unjust (wicked)."

There are 3 classes of people - the Christian, the good, and the wicked.

There is a warning about people who add to the prophesy of the book of Revelation.
---Steveng on 12/30/09 That is funny Steveng, because I based my statement that there are 2 classes of people, righteous and unjust, from Revelation! It is you who are ADDING by saying there are 3! Per JESUS IN Rev 22:

11He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

Heaven Immediately At Death

Re-read Rev 20:12. The verse you speak of does not say "wicked." You are adding words to Revelation.
-Steveng 12/30/09
As all the righteous come up at the 2nd coming's resurrection, and there is no more marriage for anybody else to be born after that, it stands to reason that the resurrection 1000 years later is of wicked dead (who were not raised at 2nd coming - only righteous come up at that time)and they receive their punishment. Those who came up at Christ's 2nd coming, the righteous, will no longer be judged. They will ever be with the Lord. By comparing scripture with scripture this can be clearly seen. It is not adding to scripture, it is understanding scripture. The ONLY people left to be resurrected will be wicked

Explain Lazarus Parable

Mat 13:34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables, ,and without a parable spake he not unto them

Mark 4:33-34 And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it. But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.

Explain Lazarus Parable

The drop of water symbolizes the living waters that Jesus offered to the Jews (Judah, 1 of 6 brothers) but they rejected it and ultimately will be cast out.

"And the Spirit and the bride say "Come" and let him that heareth say "Come" and let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely" Rev 22:17

"And Jesus answered her and said "If thou knewest the gift of God and who it is that saith unto thee, Give me to drink, thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water" John 4:10

"But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst" verse 14

Heaven Immediately At Death

Will this be a judgment on those who were born during the millenium? ... what use is there of the book of life?
---Lee1538 on 12/27/09
That is a very good question. The answer however is no because of this scripture:

For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels which are in heaven" Matthew 12:25

After Jesus comes back the 2nd time for the 1st resurrection, people no longer marry and therefore no longer have any children. The number of His kingdom is set, no more people are born. Therefore, when the 2nd resurrection rolls around 1000 years later for the wicked, the book of life testifies against them by showing that their names are NOT there...
