God's Spokesperson

Mark I could be mistaken, only Steveng can clarify what he meant by his question.

God's Spokesperson

Mark I understood Steveng's use of spokesperson to mean one who speaks His word through the inspiration He provides. And by His word we, as believers, have the mind of Christ. 1Co 2:16>Jhn 16:13-15 I for one believe that simply because it is written. If that make me gullible, then I will be gullible with faith. And Mark, how do we make disciples if not by sharing His word?

God's Spokesperson

True Strong axe, therefore Isaiah was instructed to "Sanctify the LORD of hosts Himself, and let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread. Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples. To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." So the question is what is the law and testimony? I believe that law to be love and that testimony to be the testimony of Jesus, both of which can be found in the pages of scripture. So it is for us to be like those in Berea, and search the Scriptures daily to find out whether what is being spoken is truly the "word of God". If we do that, we can indeed know, by the Spirit of God, who speaks for God.

God's Spokesperson

"What qualifies a person to be God's spokesperson?" Having a mind, attitude and disposition that has been opened to a willingness to submit to Him by His lead without protest, that He might speak without hinderence.

Forgive Their Sins

Correction: Nicole, what does mind reading have to do with it? A man knows when an offense has been committed against him, it is those sins he is called to forgive.

All We Need Is Love

Excellent response Mark.

Finish Here January 2018

The inspiration of book of Jude is shown by the witness of other inspired books. "Rebellious angels not keeping their proper abode being kept in chains," for instance is witness by "God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment," 2Pe 2:4 "The prophesy of Enoch" concerning the return of Jesus is also witnessed by other scriptures, even by Jesus himself. You asked StrongAxe, "Why do you?" put much value on it, is implied. I'll ask, Why not? Why would what's written in the book, be questioned by anyone?

Without Law No Sin

I'm resending this post to correct the obvious mistakes.
I know this question was directed to Hays, but if I may, The word no in 1 John 1:8 is the same [Greek] word, "ou", translated not in verse 10, and in over a thousand other places in the [N.T.], and It is my belief that it should have been translated that same way in verse 8. How did I come to that conclusion? Simple, by a plain reading of verse 7 and 9. If we are truly cleansed, and as believers we are, from all sin, there can be logically no sin remaining. And the worshippers once purged of sin should have had no more conscience of sins.

"How do you reconcile 1 John 3:9 with 1 John 1:8: If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."---StrongAxe

Correction to prior post, this line was meant to read The word no in 1 John 1:8 is the same [Greek] word, "ou", translated not in verse 10

Going To Purgatory

If the concept of purgatory is biblical, it's contradicted by that which is clearly stated. "[Man's] breath goeth forth, he returns to his earth, In that very day his thoughts perish. You [Father] take away their breath, they die and return to their dust. For dust [they] are, And to dust [they] shall return. The living know that they will die, But the dead know nothing,..For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks? What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? Shall it declare thy truth? Will You work wonders for the dead? Shall the dead arise and praise You? Death can not celebrate thee:.. cannot hope for your truth."

Where Is Elijah And Enoch

You lost me with your last statement Monk Brendan, where's the logic?:oD)))

Where Is Elijah And Enoch

"If Jesus is in heaven, and the dead in Christ are in Christ, then aren't they automatically in heaven as well?":oD))) I can't argue that logic Monk Brendan, and in agreement with that same logic, we (the living) are also currently in Heaven, for as it is written, Father "hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:" Eph 2:6

Where Is Elijah And Enoch

"(soul sleep is one of the silliest ideas of the Reformers). Therefore, they must be in HEAVEN!" Fr._Brendan_Drown on 11/9/17
And that statement is based on what?
I can agree that the dead are not "in the ground sleep". They are asleep in Christ. 1Th 4:15,16 Jesus Himself referred to the dead as sleeping. Jhn 11:11
