Biblical Evolution Exists

For Everyone,
Here's a couple more excellent resource on the topic of Creation vs. Evolution: Google search "Creation Evolution Headlines" and "Scientific Facts in the Bible sbea"

What Is The Point Of Scripture

Ryan,
I got the following from "John Gill's Exposition of the Entire Bible" on "E-sword"...
"The design of Mark in relating this incident, is to show the rage and fury of these men; who were for sparing none that appeared to be or were thought to be the followers of Christ; so that the preservation of the disciples was entirely owing to the wonderful power of Christ."

Jhonny,
You've posted some excellent replies; especially about water; I also agree with robyn and marya35.

Zapie,
Vitamin, mineral, and herbal supplements are extremely beneficial to overall health. We really don't get enough in our diet, even if we eat a lot of fruits and veggies; however, you can get too much of a good thing... I would advise anyone just beginning to learn about vitamins to stick with the "RDA" (Recommended Daily Allowance.)

Stress, in some form, causes almost every kind of health problem including depression and anxiety, which often lead to obesity.
It's interesting- in the Bible, distress is referred to as "heaviness."

I've been working on loosing weight and have gradually lost 40 pounds so far. To reduce stress, feel better and loose weight, I do as many of the following as I can to the best of my ability...

Weight Loss Tips

(( 3 ))
Seek Jesus (The Prince of Peace)... trust Him and meditate on His Word and pray...

Isa 26:3 "You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You."

Rom 8:6 "For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace."
Also, Rom. 14:17 and Jer. 33:6

Weight Loss Tips

(( 4 ))
Fear God, love and obey Him, love and do good to others, and forgive...Unforgiveness is a heavy weight to carry.

Read the book of Ecclesiastes... I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist and frequently feel overwhelmed by my circumstances... Ecclesiastes helps me to put things into perspective, not to stress about the "cares of this world," and to remember what's really important.

Weight Loss Tips

(( 5 ))
Learn about nutrition: I've learned a lot by listening to and reading books by Christian doctors and nutritionists such as Dr. Don Colbert and Jordan S. Rubin.

Eat right...Fast and junk food produce more stress on our bodies than the stress they relieve by being quick and easy.

Eat breakfast...Getting up a half hour to an hour earlier to cook something is well worth the effort.

Weight Loss Tips

(( 6 ))
Eat smaller, more frequent meals...Digestion takes a lot of energy: Food is supposed to give us energy; however when we eat too much, energy is used to deal with the excess rather than burn calories; this causes us to feel tired shortly after eating and the fat gets stored.

I must continually repent of gluttony. Each time it gets easier to ignore that extra portion or that sweet, gooey thing that's calling my name.

Exercise... Not only does this burn calories, it reduces stress.

Get enough sleep/rest.

De-clutter, and get organized...Our environment affects us more than we realize. According to Peter Walsh, an organizational expert, and author; obesity and a cluttered home environment are related.

I did an I-net search on weight loss success stories and was very encouraged by reading how others have lost weight.

What Is The Trinity

I agree with tom2 & Mrs. Morgan.

Rebecca D & kimberlynn,
I like that analogy.

Is Money Todays Idol

Ed,
I believe that all kind of Godlessness is especially rampant today because we're living in the last days. Read 2 Timothy 3:1-9.

Is Money Todays Idol

Catherine,
**People , and get this, will even worship the word of God.**
Am I getting this right...Are you saying that you think it's wrong to worship the Word of God?!?
Because worshipping the Word of God = worshipping Jesus. (John chap. 1:1-18)

Baby Names

We used to have neighbors who had twin boys. The boys names were "Ocean" and "Forest"...Ocean had shorter wavy/curly hair, and Forest had long curly hair. I thought that was cute.

Is Moronism A Cult

(( 5 )) How do you know its the Holy Ghost speaking to you? How did Joseph Smith know that Moroni was an angel of God, and not Satan appearing as an angel of light?
By contradicting the Word of God (the Bible,) many Mormon doctrines deny Jesus, because He is The Word! (John Chap. 1)

Is Moronism A Cult

(( 4 )) Again, NOT ONE of the Bible passages you had listed on 2/13 say that we existed before we were born, as you claimed they did!
Who gives you or anyone else the right to lie against the Word of God, based on what Joseph Smith, or any other man said?
Im not looking for signs; Im looking for truth.

Is Moronism A Cult

(( 3 )) In "The Pearl of Great Price" Joseph Smith claimed that God informed him that all other churches were "wrong" and that "all other creeds were and abomination in his sight." Since Smith was the one who first attacked all other churches, we are simply responding to his charges.

Is Moronism A Cult

(( 2 )) The problem I have is with many other Mormon doctrines; and if one boldly carries the banner of Mormonism, they should be able to defend more than just the moral doctrines of the church.

Is Moronism A Cult

Dave,
(( 1 )) Look, you seem to feel that some here are "persecuting" you for believing in righteousness. That's simply not the case. No one disputes James chap. 2. I've stated before on the "I Am A Latter Day Saint" blog that "I have warm regards for the Mormon people and applaud many teachings of this church, such as family, moral values and hard work." I strongly believe in "doing" what's right according to the Bible.
