Any Funny Family Stories

My cousin was a groomsman in his brother's wedding. My cousin had strep throat and a fever but was going to be in the wedding no matter what. During the ceremony he fainted, his sister screamed "he's dead" (he wasn't), she HURDLED over two pews to get to him. They picked him up, continued the ceremony and THEN the best man fainted. They finally brought out chairs for both to sit on. During another family wedding, my 2 year old sister said very loudly during prayer "I have to go potty NOW!

Should I Look For A Date

Thanks Marcia---I know He is preparing me as I've never had this feeling of expectation and hopefulness. I've no one even in my life right now, but I feel like I'm waiting for something and unless you ever had this feeling before it is very strange to be waiting but you don't know exactly what for.

How Can I Find A Date

Rebecca D.---could you explain more about how you "knew" that he was the one? I know that God puts us in the exact location we need to be at the exact time we need to be there for everything to go according to his plan. I read something in my Quest Study Bible that says God's time is eternity, our time on earth is limited and thats why we are more impatient.

How Can I Find A Date

Thank you Bill bila---I do know all that, but it helps sometimes to see it written down.

How Can I Find A Date

Thank you Marcia---I had forgotten all about Ruth and Boaz. Does anyone on here know of any writings (other than in the Bible) about Ruth?

Looking For A Mate

My honest opinion is that "love" is the driving force of our lives. Everyone is searching for it (if they don't already have it). Even when you get people together that are just friends, I think, because of God making us male and female, love/romance becomes a factor. I have never had a male friend that was just a "friend" (acquaintance, maybe). There was always some element of romance or flirtation in it.

Am I Praying Too Much

Thanks, but no thanks---you people on here play "arm-chair psychiatrist" too much. Don't need it and should never have come here to ask a sincere question. Thanks to all who did offer answers and did not try to analyze me.

Am I Praying Too Much

GetWell---You really had to do some work to be able to say "I told you so" didn't you? Thanks---

Am I Praying Too Much

This person absolutely does need my prayers, as I am pretty sure there aren't many people who do pray for him. I'm not obsessed w/him, but the more I try NOT praying, the more the urge is there to continue. And I don't even know WHAT to pray for.

Am I Praying Too Much

GetWell---I have never posted this question before, so I don't know what you are talking about.

Am I Praying Too Much

I beg to differ here also GetWell. The person IS a Christian (as I stated), just not walking the walk right now. So you can't say "he is not really a Christian". You & I don't live in his body or know his heart.

Another Humor Blogf

I was babysitting a little 3 year old boy. He was in the backyard playing with our 10 week old puppies. I called him in to eat lunch and he came in the door and said "I have to go wash my paws!"

Where Are You From

I have lived in southern California my ENTIRE life and never more than 100 miles from where I was born. Its pretty rare to find somebody here in soCal who is a native and not a transplant. I live in Temecula, CA, in between Riverside and San Diego. I am a second generation native.

Baby Names

My daughter and son-in-law also thought about naming it Titus or Atlas (!) if it had been a girl!

Baby Names

My daughter is pregnant and is stuck on the name Jordynn. It is an okay name, but it just seems like there are so many kids named that. When I taught preschool, there was this little boy named "Green" and he always wore a green shirt (I'm not kidding!). I said to one of my co-workers, does his mom make him wear that shirt so he will remember his name or what?

God Doesn't Want Me Married

Caring---I disagree. I believe that by me trying so hard to find someone on my terms, with no success, that I was not being obedient to what God wanted,

Susie--would love to hear more, but don't you have to be a member to send emails and doesn't it cost?

God Doesn't Want Me Married

Susie---I realize that being married is what I always what I wanted. I've not thought about me for so long, that I've no single friends. They are all married---even the people at church are all married or attached.

Caring---I thought if someone is waiting for God, they were supposed to leave it alone and let God take care of it. I have tried it on my own w/no luck and thought I was supposed to wait.

God Doesn't Want Me Married

I've done the "gone back to college" thing too in those 25 yrs (rec'd a BA & MA). So, even though I've done everything very non-traditonally, I'm still wanting the traditional idea of marriage (w/out more kids!). I really feel out of whack w/wanting a mate and marriage at this time of my life.

God Doesn't Want Me Married

I should've explained---I became pregnant & unmarried at 25 (with my daughter). I closed myself off from men for 25 years because of that (not intentionally, but that was my frame of mind. NOW, daughter is grown & married, so I've started thinking about ME, after many years of not. Yes, I've repented, asked forgiveness and forgave myself. Now, I feel the need for a mate. And yes, I realize I kind of went through the stages of life backwards, by having a child first.

Should I Look For A Date

No, I'm not expecting Prince Charming to show up at my door. But, I look at it like if God wants me to be with someone HE will put that person and myself in the right place at the right time. I don't know what else to do and I am tired of wondering so I have decided to do nothing until God reveals someone or noone, as the case may be.
