Forgive me for the misunderstanding Shawn. Good to hear I was wrong.

Miche - God can harm us if we're irreverent (Ananias and Sapphira, Acts 5) or even in taking His supper without reverence. And for sinners look at Sodom and Gomorrah and the Flood. Anyway, I pray that God will do for you what He has done for me. Love you all and be blessed.

Shawn and Anne - Where in our blogs did we say that we want to continue in our sins or that we practice or even want to sin? You all are claiming that we're talking about living in sin and still go to Heaven when we are only saying that Jesus will not let any one of His sheep be lost (in Hell). Read John 10:28-29. Anyone who practices sin will not go to Heaven. You're basing your argument over your own misunderstanding, not anything we have said. A true saint cannot and will not practice sin because they have a new holy nature after conversion.

Bob and Duane, great answers.

Miche - We're all brothers and sisters in Christ. And I am 100% in agreement with you that sin separates us from God. But the disagreement is that it separates us from fellowship with God, not loss of salvation. Remember the Lord chastens (spanks) those (christians) whom He loves. God will not allow ANY of His children to stay in sin period. As sheep we can wander and the Shepherd at times will have to break the sheep's leg and carries it until it's completely healed. That's how God will do the wayward saint if they stray. So after the leg heals the sheep will remain by the Shepherd's side. If you're not chastened, you're not HIS.

Part 2- Of course we must repent of our sins if we're saints to get back into fellowship with God. Sinners repent to be saved. All I'm saying is that Christ is the AUTHOR and FINISHER of our faith and He is solely responsible for our salvation and the security of it. That's why He says He's our Shepherd. I used to believe the way you all do for a majority of my life. But I was never at peace or rest until I learned the ransom for my soul was TOTALLY paid for at Calvary. That's past, present and future sins. Christ's blood is sufficient to cover my sins for all eternity (Hebrews 10:14).

Miche - Let's be clear again. Neither I nor Mark V. are saying it's okay to sin. That's you and all the others misconception of what you think we mean by eternal security. And I am not putting words into your mouth. You used Philippians 2:12 as proof that you have to obey or whatever else to keep your salvation. So once again, where in that passage is proof that salvation can be gained and maybe lost? If we can lose our salvation then why do we need Jesus now? If He cant keep me till the end, why trust Him to save me in the first place? Please stop thinking with your own understanding of scripture.

Also read Philippians 2:12. Then read Philippians 2:13. Working out your own salvation means working out what God has already put in you. Where in that passage does it say to work out your own salvation to keep it. It's God that is working through us and that which comes out is evidence of salvation(Philippians 2:13). Galatians 2:20 talks about how I am crucified with Christ and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. It is God who gets the glory alone for salvation. If we believe we can lose our salvation, then that automatically puts us in a works salvation process anyway, and God cant get complete glory( Because we kept ourselves saved with His help).

I don't want to continue to argue God's Word because this isn't edifying us at all. It's causing more division than anything. I just pray that we all continue to seek the Lord for greater understanding of His Word and continue to pray for each other in love. I love you all and thank God for you. Whether we agree or disagree, if we have trusted Christ as Lord and Savior, then we have all we need in common brothers and sisters.

Being reconciled to God means coming back into fellowship with God. A christian can sin and it takes them out of fellowship with God but not a loss of salvation. When Peter sinned by separating himself from the gentiles, did he lose his salvation then. When Paul and Barnabas argued sharply, did they lose their salvation. Salvation is not like a light switch. Study the Jewish sacrificial system and the role of a shepherd and compare them to Christ in how he fulfilled them. I used to believe that you could lose your salvation but God showed me otherwise as I sought Him sincerely on that issue.

Miche, you are missing the point of 1 John 2:19. Read it carefully. Have you ever read the parable of the tares and the wheat (Matt. 13:24-30)? It talks about how satan planted tares with the wheat so they could contaminate the wheat field. Basically it's talking about people in the church among the saints who aren't saved. So the church is full of people who have a form of godliness, but not real. Jesus also said to judge a tree by the fruit it bears and that you will know them (Matt 7:15-20). If a tree continues to grow apples, then it's an apple tree. If a person CONTINUES a lifestyle of sin, they didn't lose their salvation, they weren't saved in the first place.

Was Judas Forgiven

Johnny B.- Your interpretation of scripture is inaccurate and it doesn't coincide with other scriptures. Read Revelation 20:12-15.

Well said Mark V. Very well said.

Part 2: OSAS doesn't mean we as christians can practice sin. Anyone whose lifestyle is the same after conversion simply has not truly been converted. It is God Who works through us. When Philippians 2:12 talks about working out our own salvation, it means expressing what is already in us or allowing Jesus to completely control us and not let us or our will interfere with His.

If a person gets into church and sustains the lifestyle for a while and then goes back out into the world, then they weren't saved in the first place according to 1John 2:19. We obey out of love, not to stay saved because we cant keep ourselves saved anyway. Only the Shepherd can do that. If we can lose our salvation, then what do we need Jesus as our Shepherd for?

There is eternal security for believers. If we can lose your salvation, then what do we do with these scriptures: John 6:37-40, John 10:28-29, Philippians 1:6, Hebrews 10:14.

Hebrews 6:6 is not talking about a saint losing their salvation. It's talking about those who have been made aware of God's plan of salvation (Jesus) and have even experienced God working among the true believers, but they still rejected God by not giving over fully to Him. Philippians 2:12 is not talking about losing your salvation either because the next verse (13) destroys that idea out. If so, then our salvation is in our hands and not Jesus' and there's no need for us to have a Shepherd as in John 10.

Was Judas Forgiven

First of all, Judas never confessed his sin against God. He was sorrowful but not repentant unto salvation. Judas never believed in Christ as his savior. Money and greed was his savior (John 12:4-6). Although he followed Jesus, he never committed his life to Him.

We must understand that forgiveness is extended to all, but you must accept it. Otherwise there is no forgiveness for you because you have rejected the only sacrifice that can atone for our sins, Jesus. Judas represents all who have a clear knowledge of Christ, understand salvation, have a form of godliness, and still never allow Him to completely rule their lives. There is no condemnation to those who are IN (believe in) Christ Jesus (Rom. 8:1).

Christians Play Secular Music

Here are some questions to ask yourself. Can I picture Jesus listening to this and enjoy it? Does this music usher in the presence of God and promotes a deeper relationship to Him? Does this music shows that I am separated from the world? What majority of people enjoy this music, Christians or Sinners? Can I picture Jesus doing what the artists is doing on the video?

We must understand that music carries the spirit of the individual and if they're not saved then they don't have the spirit of God. Back in the days when a man wanted to get a woman in the mood to fornicate, he would put on some Luther Vandross and usually got the result he wanted.

Can I Remarry After Divorce

Lee, those are the only requirements God give for second marriages. I am an innocent participant of a divorce and I must say it is extremely difficult. These are situations where the innocent must go into deep prayer and study God's Word for guidance. I am in no position to tell anyone they can or cannot remarry. God will give you the direction you should go concerning your life like He did for me. After intense prayer and tears God gave me an understanding of His Word and my situation. I can remarry but He is going to give me the wife of His choice. A person has to seek God in these situations and according to His Word.
