Staying Faithful Before God
In Ephesians 6:10-18, I see two aspects of the Christian's life. First there is the defensive - Shield of faith, helmet of salvation, breastplate of righteousness; I also see that the Christian walk should be offensive also (not negative), by using the sword of the spirit, with our feet ready to preach the gospel of peace. What do you think?

I'm very happy with your wonderful contributions.

God bless you all. Please give us more!

Meaning Of Sovereignty
Pls tommy, could you explain "therefore, even our choice for God would be predicated by Him doing something in our hearts before we could respond." Does it mean God predestines individuals b4 they are called, even whether they like it or not? Thanks.

Foundations Of Christianity
I thought I was writing on how to convert a prospect. Guess I didn't get the question well. Of course Christians are not under the bondage of sin.

I wish you were a little more polite, dear brother(?).

Thanks for the reminder anyway.

Scriptures Only Please
"For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope." (Romans 15:4)

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." (2 Timothy 3:16)

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15)

Meaning Of Sovereignty
I'm in total agreement with all the responses made so far.

Sovereignty: As a verb means dominion, rule, power, control

As a noun means independence, autonomy, self government.

All these are artributes of Almighty God. That is why WE must reverence and worship Him. God bless you for asking this important question. God bless you all for the brilliant answers.

Purpose Of Baptism
Jesus "said unto them, Go ye into all the world, ... He that believeth AND is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."
(Mark 16:15-16)

How can we take baptism out of this scripture?
"The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ." (1 Peter 3:21). Name one conversion in the book of Acts baptism!

Foundations Of Christianity
It is important to know that we are sinners. Explanation of sin is necessary to make one sober, especially when they know sin's consequence. Then, like the people asked Peter on the day of Pentecost, they will want to know the remedy for sin. This then will create the opportunity to teach about Christ and his purpose for coming to this world. The rest depends on how receptive the prospect is.

The best thing one can do for his neighbour is to lead them to Christ. God is pleased.

Salvation Without Confession
When Christianity began, people did not embrace it so there was the need for verbal confession to show on whose side they were. It is still relevant today to prove to the world around you that you have declared your stand for Christ. Jesus says "Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me ..., him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
(Matthew 10:32-33). He commanded it in Rom 10:9

Are Women Preachers Scriptural
Why do feminine activists kick against plain scripture? "In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence." (1 Timothy 2:9-12) Is there any hidden meaning to this?

Are Women Preachers Scriptural
That "God is no repsector of persons" should be put in its right perspective. Why did God make man male and female? God is a God of order. Just as man can't play the role of mother, woman can't also play the role of father. It is simple. Does this God given roles make God a respector of persons.

Remarry Same Spouse
"...Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder."
(Matthew 19:3-6)

Remarry Same Spouse
They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
(Matthew 19:7-9)

Mormon Temples Rituals
I'm not a mormon, but the responses I have read on this blog do not say anything. The question has nothing to do with God's wrath or apostacy. Pls, if you know the answer, why not say it and help the enquirer rahter than pour out your distaste of the question? After all, she is the wife(?) of a mormon.

Tongues, Knowledge And Shouting
The Bible teaches that the manifestation of the Holy Spirit was to prove that the apostles were sent by Christ and to establish the faith of the early christians. Once that was proven and recorded the Bible said those things will cease 1Cor. 13:8-13. Pls prove your point from scripture and not what you feel or think

Was Mary Always A Virgin
... Jesus ... taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works? Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?
(Matthew 13:53-56)
Question: Did Joseph alone have these children? Certainly not! Did he marry another wife? My Bible has no such record!

Was Mary Always A Virgin
Jesus was the first biological son of Mary. She was still a virgin when she gave birth to Jesus. But after that she was still married to only Joseph. Joseph didn't have another wife in addition to Mary, nor did he divorce her! The bible however records the names of some of his brothers and sisters read my next post ...

Do I Need A Bible
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. (Acts 17:11)

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)

Without bible you can't do these!
