Baptism Gone Wrong

Since Paul makes it clear there is only one baptism in Eph 4:5, why is there such a hullabaloo over baptisms?
If Paul says there is only one then it must be the one baptism Paul teaches. It is found in 1 Cor 12:13 and Rom 6:3.
It's dry and performed by the Spirit baptizing you into Christ. This is the baptism that saves. It is not water baptism of any kind.
If you don't see this then you are stuck trying to reconcile the multiple baptisms taught in the Lords earthly ministry with the single baptism in Eph 4:5.
Right division opens eyes

Baptism Gone Wrong

While many argue over the merits, mode, and method of water baptism, the one baptism of the mystery church into Christ requires no water and is largely neglected.
It's this ONE(not two or three) baptism of every believer into Christ that is responsible for our identity in Christ, our resurrection, our new ministry, our communion, and our inheritance with the Lord.
Right division opens eyes

What Are Lords Commandments

The law of God is holy, just, and good. It's perfect, a reflection of Gods holiness. But, it's the last thing you want in front of you at the final judgment.
The purpose of the law is to expose sin. Sin deserves death and that means you lose at the judgment. Being subject to it will hurt you not help you because you are part of sinful humanity. (Gal 3:10)
Even if God had given just one commandment you would fail to keep it just as your father before you. (Rom 5:12)
Ten Commandments are like an army aiming its weapons on the target which is your soul. If you didnt break the first one there are nine more to hold you accountable.

What Is A Doctrine

There is terrible doctrinal disunity in the church in large part due to a failure to recognize the greater commission given to the apostle Paul to us-ward in this dispensation (Eph 3:1-9).
By failing to distinguish Pauls ministry of the mystery of Christ to all men from the ministry of the Twelve apostles to prophetic Israel, commision confusion ensues.
Divisions are created when a doctrine to Israel is combined with a mystery truth. There are hundreds of combinations of these wrong admixtures, there are hundreds of churches.
Separating prophecy and mystery promotes unity around sound doctrine. The Lord teaches us that unity any other way is not worth having.

How God Saves People

We are saved by trusting the gospel of our salvation, the best explanation being 1 Cor 15:1-4, not by faith in feelings, churches, popes, religious systems, good works, hard work, church going, angels, miracles, or any of the millions of things people of faith believe.
The gospel of our salvation is the finished work of Christ on our behalf (Eph1:13).
One thing saves. Only one faith is acceptable. Only one faith was taught by Paul as the gospel. That is faith in Christs death for our sins, his physical burial, and literal resurrection for our eternal life.
Christs cross work is what saves. Is your faith in that?

What Is A Doctrine

The Bible defines doctrine as instruction, knowledge, or content of what is taught. (Prov 4:1-2 Isa 28:9a)
The Bible says there are many doctrines in the world and it could be easy for the unstable to be carried away with unsound doctrine. Ephesians 4:14 says to be established in the Word of God.
We should study to shew ourselves approved unto God learning the doctrine of God found in the Bible. Paul instructs
Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. 1Tim 4:13
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Tim 3:16

How God Saves People

If you don't know Gods will you cannot live a life in Christ. Ignorance of Gods will condemns us to death.
If you are ignorant of Gods will, and continue to say you are living your life for the Lord, you are deceiving yourself.
Truth is you are doing your own will, and calling it Gods. This is rebellion.
Right division points you to Gods plainly revealed will in the Bible.
Learn Gods will: 1 Tim 2:4, Eph 1:9-10, Eph 3:8-10, 1 Thess 4:3, and 1 Thess 5:16-18.
Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. Eph 5:16

How God Saves People

Truly, there are different gospels in the Bible.
Israel and the Church, the mystery body, are not the same. Works were required under the law, but not required under grace.
The mystery of Christ and salvation was hidden from ages and generations past until revealed to the apostle Paul.
Salvation from sin couldn't be given to anyone apart from Gods grace.
God only can save. The only way he can save is by his grace. His grace is always merited by Christ and his work by the cross.
Salvation is available to all, but only given to those that believe.
This understanding of salvation is made plain in Pauls epistles, and is witnessed by (but hidden from) the law and the prophets (Rom 3:21).

Believe In God's Healing

Paul performed miracles, tongue talking, and healings, but Pauls message was more excellent than any of those great works (Phil 1:10, 1 Cor 13:13, Eph 2:4-7).
When Christians think that special miracles, healing, and powers are greater than understanding doctrine they are making the same mistake as those who crucified Jesus, jailed Peter, and persecuted Paul.
Today, there is no greater message than what the Lord revealed to the apostle Paul last of all.
The gospel of the grace of God testifies to Christ having done everything necessary for you already including blessing you with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places.

Baptism A Public Testimony

The one true baptism doesn't include water or witnesses. Most think has to be into water. However, water baptism is just one baptism mentioned in the Bible. To understand the true meaning of the doctrine we must understand the general meaning of baptism.
Baptism means immerse, initiate, or induct. The function of baptism is identification with the object of the baptism.

Should We Be Baptized

Since Paul makes it clear that there is only one baptism in Eph 4:5, why is there such a debate over baptism?
If Paul says there is only one then it must be the one baptism Paul teaches. found in 12:13 and Romans 6:3.
It is dry and performed by the Spirit baptizing you into Christ. This is the baptism that saves you. It is not water baptism of any kind.

Possessed With A Demon

//Prayer For Reconcilation
I am grieved by how haz(Cluny) and kathr are treating each other on these blogs..
I'm praying that they be reconciled and freed of their burden of mutual hatred..
All who have started doing so join me in this intention.//

Should We Be Baptized

//BTW--how much modern US history did you learn from the Bible?//
The same amount of salvation you learned from US history

Should We Be Baptized

//You don't actually think the NT is all there is to church history, do you?//
I actually believe that the Bible is the final authority.
Choose now to trust your Bible as Gods word completely. It will help your Bible study tremendously. The first line of defense against Bible confusion is to trust Gods word to be without mistake. Let men make the mistakes.

Should We Be Baptized

//Because baptism was normally done by the local presbyters.//
BCV for this explanation please

Should We Be Baptized

Paul explains why, Baptism is Jewish, and Paul was a Hebrew of the Hebrews (Phil 3:5).
Paul was sent to minister to Jews also, and he became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews, to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law (1 Cor 9:20).
There are many reasons why Paul would baptize, but the important question concerning water baptism is why Paul stopped baptizing?
Paul says, I thank God I baptized none of you , save a few, and For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel (1 Cor 1:17).
When Paul says Christ sent me not to baptize, he is confessing he was not following Matt 28 or Mark 16 in his ministry, nor was he baptizing under the same command given to Peter.

Should We Be Baptized

No one preaching water baptism understood the preaching of the cross. Wherever the baptism gospel is presented it is presented for remission (forgiveness) of sins.
But Paul taught the cross of Christ for forgiveness of sins. Water baptism had been supplanted by something greater.
At one time the gospel of a kingdom and remission of sins was intimately tied to water baptism. That is, until Paul.
No wonder that there are so many confusions about water baptism when people fail to recognize the special revelation given to Paul from the Lord.
It was first known by Paul that water baptism was not required and was separate from the true forgiveness of sins which is through Christs blood (Eph 1:7).

Should We Be Baptized

Nobody need drown in water to be in Christ, and neither was there water at the cross, nor Rom 6. Paul isn't talking about Jesus water baptism here, he's talking about Jesus baptism unto death.
When believers are baptized by the Spirit into the boC (1 Cor 12:13), we are baptized into the death of Christ.
His death, becomes ours (Rom 6:6) His resurrection, becomes ours (Rom 6:8). Without this baptism into the Lords death, we are still in our sins. This is the baptism necessary for salvation
The Lords water baptism doesn't accomplish anything for us regarding righteousness or salvation. If we are to follow the Lord, we must follow Him in his second baptism, as the Spirit baptizes us into Christs death to be saved by Gods grace.

Should We Be Baptized

There are different baptisms in the Bible most dry.
John the Baptist clearly baptized with water (John 1:31, Mark 1:5).
Matt 3:11 identifies two other baptisms.
A Spirit isn't water, and baptism with fire evaporates moisture.(Isa 4:4: Mal 3:2).
The baptism of Israel unto Moses (1 Cor 10:2) They walked on dry ground and Egyptians drowned.
Baptism has become synonymous with water baptism, but baptism doesn't mean water. A better definition is someone is identified with something.
That's why Paul describes a baptism into the boC (1 Cor 12:13. Rom 6:3 Gal 2:20).
Baptism with water symbolized cleansing not death, as in the remission of sins (Mark 1:4). Today our sins are forgiven through the blood of Christ through his death.
