Denominational leaders of today are like the Scribes and Pharisees of Jesus' time who weigh people down with religious baggage regarding rules and practices about food and rituals and days of worship that they become burdens. But when we listen to and obey the things Jesus said, He lifts off all that dead weight and allows us to enter into His rest (sabbath). (See Hebrews 4:1-11) & #65279,

The ultimate commandment of God is love - as in the verb form. Unfortunately, love has practically evaporated from the face of this world.

Let me put it this way: Pope Francis is working for Satan.

You so-called "catholics" are being lead by a false prophet who is taking you to hell. You worship the pope than Jesus. For instance, Pope Francis, on the Feast of the Holy Family in Vatican City, said Jesus had to beg forgiveness thus implying that Jesus committed a sin! The pope also said that the bible is a highly dangerous book and that Jesus' life ended in failure.

And you are still following catholicism? Revelation 18:4

She only studied it the way the catholic church wanted her to know.

Nicole wrote: "Judging is forbidden Matt 7:1."

So, you think that we shouldn't discipline our children?

You need to dig deeper into scriptures about how to use judging.

Cluny wrote: "Once more, you're wrong Steveng."

Prove to me that I'm wrong. Besides, I would rather be wrong in your eyes than in God's eyes.

StrongAxe wrote: "The Catholic church does not teach worship of statues,.."

They don't reprimand anyone that does. I know more about the (Roman) Catholic Church than any one on this site for I used to be one and studied it for over ten years.

Mary is dead.

The Hail Mary prayer implies that she is still living. Mary is a sinner just like the rest of us and needed a savior. Luke 1:47, Ecclesiastes 7:20

It is forbidden to bow down and worship statues, but yet that's what the catholics do. Exodus 20:4-5

Although catholics do bow down and worship Mary statues, the pope never says that is wrong. 2 Timothy 4:3-4, 1 Timothy 4:1, Proverbs 14:12

Jesus is NOT God, he said so himself. John 20:17

We are to worship God alone. Isaiah 42:8, Revelation 19:10

Cluny wrote: "Why is this a mistake,"

Because, by dividing a piece of writing up into smaller writing increases the misinterpretation especially by today's over educated adults. Imagine writing a three-page personal letter to a friend and dividing it up into verse numbers. It would definitely cause confusion in the reader's mind and taking verses out of context.

True christians are to pray only to God. Catholics pray to Mary, a dead person. The Hail Mary prayer implies that she is still alive (Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee).

Cluny wrote: "Steveng, St. Paul said that when he became a man, he put away childish things."

That's true, but I was not getting at.

Cluny wrote: "He also wrote that we are NOT to be children in understanding."

That's not true - and in your own words "give BCV."

"Through the eyes of a child" is an old saying meaning "read what's there without analyzing it." The reason why we have so many bible interpretations is because adults are too educated and analyze every little word, phrase and sentence. The biggest mistake about today's bible is the addition of chapters and verses. This is the main reason that it is written that we "hear the words of God."

So, are christians to obey nine of the commandments, except the fourth?

Matthew 5:1718

As for the verses Romans 14:5, Colossians 2:16-17:

Those that are strong in faith will keep all commandments, those that are weak in the faith only obey some of the commandments.

Read the bible through the eyes of a child, not an educated adult.

nicole wrote: "I am not saying it's wrong to have a Bible. I'm saying JESUS didn't tell them to have a Bible."

Jesus and the apostles taught from what was already written - the OT, the Septuagint. Matthew 5:17-19

The apostles didn't need anything that was written. It was the Holy Spirit that brought what Jesus taught them to rememberence. John 14:26

The Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin, comforts us, guides us, gives us spiritual gifts and the desire to obey God, and he enables us to pray and to understand God's Word.

Strongaxe wrote: "What, exactly does "keeping a day holy" means? Be specfic, and supply scriptural references."

Have you not read the bible? If you have read the bible, you would have already answered you questions. Your answer is written from Genesis to Revelation.

josef, in the OT, God chose the Israelites to bring God's word to the world. They failed in their task thinking it was only for them.

God sent his son to the world to train twelve men, matching one man to each tribe, to bring God's word to the world.

Mark 16:15,Luke 14:23,Matthew 28:19-20,Acts 1:7-8

I suggest not only reading the bible, but think about the things you are reading. Read the bible through the eyes of a child, not an educated adult.

Although christians are to worship every day, we are still to keep the sixth day holy as God instructed his people and what the fourth commandment is to be obeyed. The fourth commandment is just as important as the other nine. Why would God establish the Sabbath in the beginning, strike it from the commandments and then re-introduce it in the new earth?

What is the purpose of keeping the sixth day holy?

Quotes of using "church" as a building:

"I didn't see you in church this morning."

"Our church has great entertainment."

"Our church has great programs."

"Our church just installed a new sound system."

"I pay tithes to the church, let them help the poor."

Quotes of using "church" as a denomination:

"Our church has a great holiday program (chose your holiday. Christmas/Easter)."

"Our church has over two hundred members."

"Our Church isn't a denomination. It is THE Church. The Catholic Church."

etc. etc.

Just a note: any 501c3 church is governed by the government.

Asked For Help In Church
KarenD wrote: "why would you want the money to go to you? That is the first sign it is a con."

So, are you saying that your denominational "church" who receives money to help the needy is a con?

As a note: 85% of all donations go to help the denominational "church." 85% go to the maintenance of the hard assets (buildings, landscaping, yearly special events, etc.) and paper assets (insurance, contracts, stocks, bonds, legal, etc).

Sell Church To Help Poor
Monk_Brendan wrote: "Steven, I don't believe you. I happen to know that the IRS form 990 is confidential and private, and may NOT be revealed to anyone save the taxpayer"

It's not as confidential as you believe. Even if it were, I could use the FOIA to get any information I need.

Monk_Brendan wrote: "And if you have all these jobs, how can you possibly have the time to SNOOP?"

How does one find time for family, children, friends, work, hobbies, shopping, handyman jobs around the house, gardening, taking a shower, etc. Many people even have two to three jobs.

Strongaxe wrote: "To some, perhaps, but not necessarily to ALL."

Yes, to ALL. This is because they are all taught from the denomination's doctrine. They are all like sheep following the doctrines of their beloved denomination. The denominational "church" leaders of today are exactly like the priests of the temple, the pharisees, and the sadducees in Jesus' time - and look how Jesus reprimanded them. And, yet, you reprimand me for doing the same thing.

Again, Satan has had over 2,000 years to infiltrate and divide christiandom up into over 75,000 different denominations each having their own rituals, traditions, ways of living and interpretations of the bible.

Is Christ divided?

cluny wrote: "Sticks and stones, Melody. Sticks and stones."

Many of your comments are childish and unchristian. Is this what they teach you in your denominational orthodox "church?" It appears love in not in your heart.

What Is Love
It's not every often that I make a comment in my blog question, but...

Strongaxe, the grace of God allowed Noah to preach God's word during the building of the ark? The people in Noah's day were given a chance to be on the arc as people today are given a chance to believe in Jesus. People have the choice to die or live.

Nicole, no one is in "hell", yet. Two resurrections must happen. Blessed are those that rise in the first resurrection.
