Can I Marry My Ex-Son-In-Law

I find myself in this same, rather disturbing predicament.

I am not marrying, or even in any relationship with my son's ex-wife, but I do see why people are wondering about this.

I feel a sense of obligation to my daughter in law. She is of no more relation to me than she was to my son. And she is divorced on legitimate grounds that even are justified by scripture (my unbeliving son was horribly abusing her, and had abandoned her).

My wife has passed away, I have no obligation. I am not related to her in any way. She is divorced on biblically legitimate grounds....

Why not? My adult children might find it strange.
