My mother and I attended this course for a few weeks. We were bored out of our heads with all the dialogue on the videos. We found the teachings lengthy and full of filler. We would start at 6 PM and were snoozing by 9:30 PM when it was over.

If I had attended the alpha course before I was saved, I would have stared at the ceiling and counted the tiles. It was the slowest moving process that made me want to run out of there every week. And I did, as fast as my legs would take me. It's too slow for most young people. I was there, they were bored. The sighs, snores, restless legs, doodling, and constant bathroom breaks....I could not do it again.

Generally, you begin with a meal. The meals were very nice and we sat with our discussion group. (You're assigned into groups).
The meal discussion was the best part. Then we had to watch a 45 min. video, that's when the snoozing and snoring began. After that, we broke down into our discussion groups. The pace was slow, it was like watching paint dry on the walls. It was difficult for new, old, and non-Christians to sit still that long.
