What Cliques In Church Wrong
Wherever you find people, you find cliques. It starts in childhood, peer groups, popular kids, geeks, gangs, etc.
A group for every interest. Intellectuals, athletes, part of our social culture.
Animals are social creatures, too. They form cliques, have a pecking order. Ever been around horses? They'll all gang up on the smaller, younger, newer horse. He has to eat last, after all the others are done.
Animals can be mean, people can be. I don't think this will end, anytime soon.

What Cliques In Church Wrong
More about the animal kingdom, nature weeds out genetic defects this way. You have a sick, injured animal, the rest of the pack, herd will leave it to die.
People are supposed to be more evolved, but children/adults sometimes shun shy, quiet types. The squeeky wheels often get the grease. It's not fair, and it's not nice. It's fleshy and worldly. The Church should behave differently.

What Cliques In Church Wrong
In churches, you have those who always demand their seat up front, get out of my chair/parking place... You have the gossips who pretend the prayer line is where you let it all hang out, then pray after you've raked everyone over the coals. You have the tithers that hold power over the pastor, run the church, or they'll withdraw tithes for the utility bills. Cynthia, cliques take all forms, endeavor to keep yourself free of them, if you can.

Against Women Preachers
It has nothing to do with being against anyone. It has to do with being for what the Bible says. A woman cannot be a bishop, the Bible tells the design, plans and purpose of the Church. Have you attended a church where the woman is the pastor and the husband sits in the pew and plays golf?

Learned From These Blogs
I like the quizes, the older blogs, and articles. There are many bloggers that are no longer here, but I still like their answers. The truth never changes.
Cynthia, I have noticed more false teaching spread all over the blogs than what was here a year or two ago. Someone in particular has increased the amount of dissention, confusion, and error here. But they're being influenced by an enemy that has been around since the beginning of time.

Do You Know Others On ChristiaNet
I've thought about Donna2277 for a long time. I would like to know if she's still with us, Helen. When her answers come up, I always read them. It's a shame she left, I remember the day it happened and why.

Do You Know Others On ChristiaNet
RitaH., I wonder about those that are no longer on the blogs. Thanks.
Have you ever heard back from Donna2277, I wonder about her health, anyone?

RitaH., do you know were Donna2277 is?

Do Christians Ever Think
"I don't think very much. I spend all my days preaching out loud. Don't have much time to think. Another reason for that is, Satan had dominated my thoughts for many a year..."
Why would that be so, catherine? Why would Satan dominate your thoughts? Please explain.

I Am A Prophet
"The problem with people with narcissistic personality is that they actually do have extremely low self-esteem. In trying to have the world revolve around them, they are trying to compensate for their low sense of self-worth.

Problem is, they do not have a healthy view of self, in the light of who they are in Christ, because of the schema in their thinking, which is the result of events in their childhoods.

Good observation Samuel and Madison.

I Am A Prophet
I think we're hearing from prophets that suffer with this and other disorders we're unaware of.

"#2. Narcisstic Personality Disorder includes:
"1. has a grandiose sense of self-importance.
2. is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love.
3. believes that he or she is "special" and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people.

I Am A Prophet
8. is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him/her.
9. shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes."

In order to be diagnosed with this, a person would have five of these.
---Madison on 1/26/06

4. requires excessive admiration
5. has a sense of entitlement.
6. is interpersonally exploitive.
7. lacks empathy: is unwilling to recongnize or identify with feelings and needs of others.

Can A Woman Be A Pastor
The Bible doesn't say women are called to teach or preach.
As the Moderator says here....

"Moderator - How could a Woman Bishop be married to a woman if you keep reading the verses?"

Can A Woman Be A Pastor
"Moderator - Were there specifically women Bishops versus women leaders, teachers, etc? Any scriptures?"

Can A Woman Be A Pastor
"Moderator - So no scriptures for a woman Bishop then? "

Can A Woman Be A Pastor
"Moderator - I agree things aren't always spelled out which can make things more complex at times. Outside of scripture which doesn't seem to support a woman Bishop, do you have any 1st or 2nd century examples of woman Bishops that were considered non-heretical?"

I Am A Prophet
Gabe, I have witnessed my share of flaky charismania. Anywhere more flesh is in operation, you will see more mania. If you see enough of it, you will long for the counterbalance. The positive aspect of coming out of a flaky ministry, Gabe, is that your discernment is tweaked up many notches.

I Am A Prophet
I did read an interesting study about televangelists and their wives. Many of the women have a higher incidence of cancer. It's not often mentioned. I did think about it when Tammy Faye died. My husband thinks that down deep, they are riddled with guilt, and it manifests as infirmity. Gabe, you probably know the inside scoop better than most. The yearly meetings to coordinate what the theme will be for collecting enough cash.
