Does Bible Contradict Itself

It is a popular myth that the Bible was somehow "invented" in the 4th Century (AD 300-400). The churches had the Old Testament and most of the New by around 90 or so, with copies carefully guarded (often, with their lives) and passed along as soon as they were received. (Even some instructions in Epistles about sharing them out once they've read them.

Does Bible Contradict Itself

The Nicene councils functioned as opportunities for the elders to compare notes and find where they were in agreement as to which documents God had provided as essential to the Faith.

Eye Of The Needle Meaning

A friend was on a tour and the guide was telling that story about the belly-crawling camels. He asked if there had been such a gate. "Oh, no," He said, "But the tourists like to hear it!" St. John Chrysostom preached really well about greed perpetuating poverty. Today preachers add, "not that there's anything wrong with being rich!" while the fat "suits" beam, and folks on the back row mentally count their remaining food stamps!

Should Christians Be Poor

St Paul wrote, "those who desire to be rich ..pierce themselves through with many sorrows, James wrote about the snares of riches, Jesus said, "sell that ye have and give alms," "how hard it is for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven," and "Foxes have holes, the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head." So why do we spend 99% of our time occupied with making things more comfy for this short time, and neglecting the eternal?

Tongues Needed For Salvation

We could get into the 20th Century roots behind this idea, but (word limit). The Bible gives examples of tongues upon infilling, and it teaches that His evidence (fruit) is holy-love. Also, there is a difference between conversion (baptised by the Spirit into Christ) and infilling (baptised by Christ in the Spirit. To confuse the two is to confuse the Persons of the Godhead. Each is distinct, though one "substance." Search "SanctiFusion" for more discussion, if you like.
