What Is The Purpose Of The Law

The law was given to the choosen people of God (Israelites) to show the character of God: His holiness & rigteousness. If they have obeyed the law, they will be accounted righteous. BUT No flesh can fulfill the law. No flesh can boast of righteousness. The Law also magnified the sinfulness of man & the greatness of God's mercy. He sent His Son who fulfilled the law & if man will believe in Him, His rigteousness will be imputed to him.

What Do We Obey In The Bible

The New Testament is the continuation of the Old Testament. As a matter of fact, it's the fulfillment of everything written in the OT, the central of the whole Bible is Jesus Christ, being prophet, priest & king. OT is important as the NT. It was given by God to man & God never changes. He still abhors now everything He abhors in the OT times.
