David, of course this is addressed to those saved aka justified as I pointed out we must be justified by faith first. And as a result of our justification God has already at that point of our sincere faith baptized you into Christ's death and resurrection life. It's really up to us to KNOW THESE FACTS and OBEY THESE FACTS if you have been born again.

Your still making up excuses to not obey these facts.

David , yes I'm glad you reworded according to scripture. Now go and read what Peter has to say on this subject in 1 Peter 4. THOSE WHO HAVE SUFFERED IN THE FLESH HAVE CEASED FROM SIN. So we see this suffering is not a self inflicted suffering, but as Paul testifies to in Philippians 3, THE FELLOWSHIP OF "HIS SUFFERING", BEING MADE CONFORMABLE TO HIS DEATH...

So David THIS is the way to VICTORY over sin scripture teaches. And that victory is living in the NEW MAN, that can only be done by daily putting to death through the Holy Spirit ..the old man.

Romans 8....EVERY WORD explains this truth.

Baptism Gone Wrong
Pastor Chris, what verse in the bible says Jesus was naked at His Baptism? Or is this understanding tradition too. If scripture says nothing about having to be naked, where we read about many baptisms yet NO WHERE even with Cornelius family were they all told to strip.

So your TRADITION is perverted. Why, because it's a MAN MADE TRADITION.

Here Paul reiterates this again, and through out scripture. John in 1 John 3:14. You know you have passed from death to life when .....

We died with Christ, buried with Him being baptized into His death and are raised up together with Him a NEW CREATURE. Those IN CHRIST have experienced the second death here and now , and will not face the second death at the great white throne judgement. WE will be part of the FIRST RESURRECTION.

2 Corinthians 4:10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. Yes read the whole chapter.

Jesus fortold this in John 12:24 for those who don't like Pauls teaching.

To be IN THE LIGHT is to be in the Spirit...because the SPIRIT OF HIM is GOD and only GOD IS LIGHT. We cannot in our own strength even put to death the deeds of the flesh,AKA SIN, only CHRIST IN YOU via The Holy Spirit can. Anything else is SELF SANCTIFICATION SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS, Phariseeism.

Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit "do mortify" (AKA PUT TO DEATH) the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

David, sin never dies....its WE who die to sin. Paul takes us further into this Grace in which we stand, stating "SHALL WE CONTINUE TO SIN THAT GRACE MAY ABOUND...GOD FORBID...DONT YOU KNOW???" ..Romans 6-8.

As I said, you got off the train too early, and will never know VICTORY of being freed from sin. So you will spend the rest of your life flogging your old flesh for sin, because YOU CHOSE to keep your old man alive in sin. Paul answered the question to sin....his understanding that in our old man sin will always be present,Romans 7, where Jesus Christ has delivered us from the body of this death....AND GOES ON IN ROMANS 8...there is therefore no condemnation to those who are now in the Spirit...Romans 8:11-13..

David, I'm showing you how Scripture shows us we die to sin, and now walk in the Spirit. This is how the power of sin is broken over us. Yes, still humans we do fail, and we do immediately acknowledge our failure the moment we fail, because the Holy Spirit within us convicts us of sin. But TODAY , IN CHRIST, sin is so much more than what the law spelled out. EXAMPLE... Under the law, selfishness was not a sin...but IN CHRIST IT IS, as we see Philippians 2 show keep this mind in us as it was also in Christ Jesus.

What I'm saying David is GROWING UP INTO THE FULLNESS AND STATUTE OF CHRIST takes so much more than daily confession of sin. To be conformed to His Image is being conformed to His death.....Philippians 3.

David, I've always stated, I do not believe in a CHEAP GRACE. But I think what you seem to disagree with me here is that I go even further....A TOTAL YIELDING of our lives and living in that truth of Romans 6-8, Romans 12:1-2...A far deeper life in Grace than merely confessing our sins daily. To realize our life is IN CHRIST, and Christ is IN US..John 17, Colossians 1:24-27, resulting in Galatians 2:20-21 Colossians 3:1-4....Romans 6-8. THIS seems to be the point of disagreement between our beliefs you fight me on. Either you got off the train early, or you think you can do it all on your own. I can't do it on my own, so I stayed on that train, and it took me to places beyond ones imagination here...**** Ephesians 3:14-21***

David, I believe what God said here in 1 John. I also believe Jesus does not have to die and be sacrificed over and over. Therefore I don't believe in a limited atonement.

1John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

So David, we see by the chapter of Hebrews 10, the Law pointed to Jesus Christ. In the OT the blood of bulls and goats only COVERED sin, but only for a year. This is why sacrifices had to be made over and over. This goes all the way back to Abel's blood sacrifice being accepted, and Cain's wheat...or bloodless sacrifice rejected. We see Job sacrificed for the sins of his sons...

The Law only created a more perfect picture pointing to Christ re Mercy seat, ,,,all made after a pattern of things in heaven...PICTIONARY ....

Then Jesus the promised Messiah came ....which all those OT things pointed to...the FINISHED WORKS OF CHRIST ON THE CROSS. and sin not covered year after year but ONCE AND FOR ALL.

Revelation 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

The lambs book of life FROM the foundation of the world
Revelation13:8, would most likely start out something like this:

Just to name a few. Also see Hebrews 11.

The same John that wrote St. John wrote Revelation, understanding the Gospel was first preached in Genesis 3:15 and actually implemented the moment God covered Adam and Eve with animal skins.

David , Paul tells us exactly who Gods love has been shed abroad in our hearts....those who have been JUSTIFIED BY FAITH.

Romans5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience,

4 And patience, experience, and experience, hope:

5 And hope maketh not ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

David, John lays the foundation of the Gospel of Grace. John 15, carried through to 1,2, 3rd John, ABIDE IN ME AND I IN YOU AS YE CAN DO NOTHING UNLESS YOU ABIDE IN ME.

The MYSTERY defined in Colossians 1:24-27 along with Jesus prayer before He died in John 17 is CHRIST IN YOU. So I believe ALL OF JOHN is pointing to the time of AFTER Jesus death and resurrection, as NO ONE can be IN CHRIST or Christ in them until after His resurrection.

We also see in John 3 one must be BORN OF THE SPIRIT ...which again happens after Jesus rose from the dead.

So Jesus is revealing the Gospel of Grace in John , John reiterating in 1st John addressed to those who have passed from death to life....Paul also explains in Romans 6-8.

Samuel, Thank you for posting 1Cor 15:1-4. The Gospel is about the FORGIVNESS of sin, the breaking of its power over the sinner, and our life NOW that we are saved from the law of sin and death. All this is IN HIS SON, who died for our sin, was raised again. "for our justification "AKA SALVATION, and now IN CHRIST are sanctified once and for all..Hebrews 10.

Hebrews 10, so rich in understanding the Gospel, first announced in Genesis 3:15, and more fully revealed through out each dispensation, the Law pointing to Christ, our schoolmaster bringing us to Christ.

The worst of sinners can find FORGIVNESS who put their faith in Jesus to forgive and wash away your sin.

David, are you saying Jesus own words in John 3:16 is not the Gospel? My Bible says..FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD. And even while we were sinners Christ died for us.

We love Him because HE FIRST LOVED US.

So I'm confused as to exactly what your gospel is....that a person's human love towards God can save them? Is this love founded on anything specific, or just love for love.

David, are you set free from sin? Romans 8:1 say For THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE has set me free from the LAW of sin and death. And this same LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE has told us we are no longer servants of sin, but SONS of God and joint heirs with Christ HIS SON. John 1:1-15 also state that as many as receive Him, TO THEM gave he the power to become the SONS OF GOD. THE WORD MADE FLESH IS GOD. No one can come to the Father except THROUGH HIS SON. We come THROUGH the cross. THROUGH the veil, that is to say His Flesh..please note...A NEW AND LIVING WAY Hebrews 10...but especially note verses 18-23. David have YOU entered the NEW AND LIVING WAY? Aka... I am crucified WITH Christ...Gal 2:20-21.

Satan On Over Drive
Anyone can mix and match scripture to say what they want it to say. I bet I can find scripture making it LOOK LIKE only those who can stand on their head will find mercy. HOWEVER Hebrews 4 state WE CAN COME TO THE THRONE OF GRACE TO FIND MERCY. We can also come boldly AKA WITH CONFIDENCE.

Remember Romans 9-11 are Gods dealing with the NATION OF ISRAEL, Not to be mixed and matched with the Gospel of Salvation that has been made known TO ALL....this included ALL GENTILES. TITUS 2:11.

Please choose to believe Gods word's called FAITH. There are evil men in this world who would try to rob you of your faith. Don't let them bother you. They're the ones who actually don't have faith at all, and have no clue what it is.

Importance Of Free Will
Thank you Linda. The problem here isn't "free will" but the Gospel itself is being challenged, using the "no free will " as some sort of smoke screen Satan uses to disrupt the Gospels GOOD NEWS, as Satan is the one blinding the eyes. He has all sorts of tricks up his sleeve to disrupt the preaching of the GLORIOUS GOSPEL, doing all he can to throw shade the LIGHT OF THE GLORIOUS GOSPEL is being obscured by some nonsense of no free will. It's really sad to think of how many Satan has in the bondage of this false idea ,arguing a point that is never stated from Genesis to Revelation. Their argument is nill, because we too believe ONLY GOD SAVES, as there is no way our own blood can forgive our own sin. Hebrews 10.
