Pastor Rod Parsley's Salary
Jesus, as the son of a carpenter used his inheritance to travel and preach. Before sending out his disciples he said, "Provide neither gold nor your money belts." Paul at Acts 20:33,34 said, "I have coveted no one's silver or gold....You yourselves know that these hands have provided for my necessities, and for those with me." Paul and Aquilla both remained in Corinth to raise money for their preaching work as professional tentmakers. (Acts 18:3)
To pay someone to hear them preach is in reality paying them to preach that which you wish to hear. (2 Timothy 4:3)

What Was Adam And Eve's Sin
The "Tree of the knowledge of good and evil" served as a reminder that God had given mankind more than he needed. The sin was indeed disobedience, but also great lack of appreciation. However, the greatest sin when they ate of it symolised that Adam and Eve rejected God's law and thereby put themselves on Satan's side, IE: Against God. The tree was not poisonous. Adam may have noticed animals eating, yet not dying. That same tree may still be with us today. The sin was the actual 'act' of eating from the tree.

Enoch's Writings Missing
At 2Peter 2:5 we read that Noah was, "a preacher of righteousness." (NKJV)Remember this, When Holy Spirit was poured out on the disciples at Pentecost, it not only enabled them to speak in tongues and heal, but God also inspired them to write things that were not on record, IE: Enoch's words,
and Paul's quoting of Jesus' words, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."
It matters not whether the original writings are available, as long as an inspired prophet or apostle quotes them.

Witness To A Jehovah Witness
Here in South Africa this past weekend many 'Christians' took part in the 'Two Oceans' marathon. Ask any Jehovah's Witness why he rather runs in the 'Two Kingdoms' marathon. (Satan's versus Jehovah's) They will in all sincerity explain why you too should join them. (Heb 12:1, Gal 5:26)

Witness To A Jehovah Witness
Hi Scot,
Use of word 'Jehovah' dates back to AD1531. Cardinal Thomas devio Cajetnus, in his commentary on the Pentateuch regularly used it, EG: "Iehova elohe patrium.... (Exodus 6:3)
As is the case with Jesus, (Yoshua, Yeshua), etc, pronunciation of God's name has been lost. We should use the name in harmony with the language spoken, EG: Italian=Geova, Japanese=Ehoba, Catonese=Yehwowah, etc... Above the Dutch Reformed Church door in Kestrel, South Africa the name JEHOVAH was imbedded into the concrete. The church later called in a contractor to remove it. Odd world.
After all, God did say in Exodus 3:15 about his name Yahweh) "and thus I am to be invoked for ALL generations to come". (New Jerusalem Bible)

Baptism Guarantees Salvation
Hi Franc
No - Baprism does not guarantee salvation. Baptism is only a witness to others of your faith. You are only saved by the grace of God. He died for us on the cross. He took away our sins - He who knew no sin took on our sins. So it is not baptism that guarantees salvation - that is only an outwardly sign - so put your faith and trust in Jesus and believe that His grace is all sufficient for us. It is His grace and only that which guarantees our salvation.

God bless - Colin

Can A Catholic Marry A Protestant
I am a Northern Irish protestant who married a catholic. We agreed before the marriage to raise children in the protestant faith. everything was fine. My wife found it hard to accept our daughter because of her faith. Her family interfered, putting pressure on her. Her mother said she would cut her off if she continued taking our daughter to church. A lot of nasty comments have been made about our daughter. I believe my wife puts her own family before us. This has all caused problems in our relationship. My wife went through a drinking problem and made our lives hell. Things are better now but it was a fight. So make sure your families are OK about your marriage. Remember what ever you agree. Marriage will be hard at times. Trust in God.

Christians Supporting Israel
Jesus loves everyone. Israel needs our support, as does the rest of the region. Prayer is the best support we can give. Gods will is all that matters. Remember we are all sinners. For those who hate Jews, Jesus was a Jew. Love stops war - Hate feeds war!

Shame For Long Hair Men
It is true that the Bible does say "Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him." But further up, in my Bible, in 1 Corinthians 11:13, it says "Judge for yourself. Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered?" So, it is up to you. Do you think if men have long hair is shameful?
