Explain 2 Samuel 12:11-14

While it grieves us in our soul, God was justified in killing David's child. This act illustrates that there is always consequences for sinful acts. David himself was forgiven but he had to be taught that everyone suffers as the result of sin. The baby was not alone, God was with him and when he died he was taken to heaven where he was welcomed with a loving embrace. Like the drug dealer who finds out that his younger sibling is addicted to the drugs he sells on the street. Or the weapons manufacturer whose wife is killed during a holdup using a gun his company makes. Because of choices these two individuals made, persons that they loved suffered the consequences.
