St. John of the Cross, Doctor of the Church, the expert on this subject,says we are not to make much of supernatural phenomena (replete they are in the lives of those who pray deeply) because we tend to "worship the experience" rather than God. Fr. Malahdy, O.P. (spiritual director of Fr. Korapi--EWTN) says these are given to those of "little faith"--to strengthen our faith... If you do not have these,know that God is leading you by another path (your faith may be strong)--He alone knows the path best--wait for Him to lead you where you are supposed to be (like Bl Mother Teresa of Calcutta)... and de-emphasize "supernatural experiences". To avoid interference of Satan--we "listen" instead of talking. |
