Will The Rich Go To Heaven
We are all forgetting the impact of human greed in causing poverty and starvation. Even as a believer in capitalism, I must admit that the rich being too rich is a major cause of starvation and poverty.

The average American earns about $50,000. One who earns $1 million earns 20 times more. The question is, do those earning millions really work 20+ times harder than the average American? Common sense tells me this is not practically possible. Of course, people such as celebrities are rewarded for their impact on society, not just their hard work. But should they be rewarded to the extent at which thousands of children will be condemned to starvation as a result? I can vouch that God would say no.

Is Suicide Wrong
The bible says that the only way to heaven is by accepting Jesus Christ as our savior. Once we are in heaven by accepting Jesus Christ as our savior then we have to give an account to God for everything we did on earth, good and bad, and are judged accordingly.
The only way someone goes to hell is by not accepting Jesus Christ as their savior.

Is Harold Camping Correct
C'mon. The oil prices, the severe earthquake in China. You actually think the oil prices are going down? This world is terrible. The end is near my friends. As much as I don't want to believe Harold Camping, he is on target. If you don't believe him, read the bible and compare scripture to scripture.

Holman Christian Standard Bible
I really enjoy the Holman Christian Standard Bible. I especially enjoy there Fellowship of Christian Athletes Bibles.

Husband Comes Before The Kids
Part 2: "What if the husband's decision is ungodly?" If both parents are obeying Ephesians 5, I assume they want to obey God in all things, so that shouldn't happen. So even if the wife is fearful that the decision is wrong, the husband's decision still trumps hers, and she should openly support it in front of the children. If your husband's decision is outrageously ungodly, then I'd say he isn't loving his wife as Christ loved the church, either, and you have a much bigger problem. ;-)

Husband Comes Before The Kids
It is implicit in Ephesians 5. "Wives submit to your husbands as unto the Lord." It never says to submit to your children as unto anyone! It also says "Husbands love your wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her." If you put the two together, you get a parenting team. If parents differ about how to handle a situation with the kids, resolve it privately. In a stalemate, the husband's decision takes precedence, and the wife should openly support that decision.

Husband Had Affair With My Friend
Who cares who made the first move? There's no excuse for adultery whether it's 2 months or 20 years after you marry, but 2 months? Are you sure he didn't do it with the hotel clerk where you spent your honeymoon?

It is admirable that you've forgiven them, but you're a better person than I am if you stay married to him. You may divorce him according to the Bible, and I would. I'm not advising you to do that, just saying I would divorce him quicker than you could say "I won't".

When Should A Women Be Submissive
I agree with those who've pointed out that the Bible tells us (Christians) to submit to one another in general. But, IMO, that's not the same thing as commanding:

"Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. unto the Lord."

That is a special relationship that goes beyond submitting to one another.

No Fault Divorce Helped Families
It is absolutely one of the worst ideas ever conceived. I know of a woman who married someone, did absolutely nothing for 10 years (didn't care about him, didn't work, didn't do housework, didn't pay attention to her children), then abandoned her family, divorced the man and took more than half his assets with her, thanks to no-fault divorce and California's property laws. If divorce is unavoidable, there should at least be some justice involved.

When Should A Women Be Submissive
The Bible says WIVES submit to your husband as unto the Lord. It also says HUSBANDS, love your wives as Christ loved the church. This is a recipe for marriage, not dating. If the man you are dating is loving you as Christ loved the church, and you are willing to submit to him as unto the Lord, then I'd say you should consider getting married! ;-)

Where Are Scriptures About Smoking
1 Corinthians 10:31, "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."

Spurgeon once said (I paraphrase) that having a good cigar in the evening helped him get a better night's sleep. Therefore, he said something like, "Tonight I will smoke a cigar to the Glory of God."

Smoking can be bad for you. Everyone knows that. But pompous stretching of Bible verses to prove smoking is a sin is silly.

Where Are Scriptures About Smoking
1 Thessalonians 5:22, "Abstain from all appearance of evil" doesn't mean "abstain from appearing like you're doing something evil even if you aren't doing anything evil." If that was the correct interpretation of the verse, Jesus would be guilty of hypocrisy, since he "appeared" to be a wine-drinking friend of evil people.

It means something more like "abstain from evil, wherever it appears". Check the Greek, or other translations.

Where Are Scriptures About Smoking
Part deux:

By the way, Charles Spurgeon, one of the world's greatest Christian preachers and writers (glory be to God) often smoked cigars, and was quite aware of legalist tendencies. One day, he approached a group of Christians smoking pipes, etc., and asked something like, "Are you ashamed of smoking, even this early in the day?" They put away all their pipes, etc. Then Spurgeon lit up a cigar. When they looked at him with shock, he said, "I only asked if you were ashamed, and apparently you are."

Where Are Scriptures About Smoking
It says nothing about smoking. Some people quote 1 Corinthians 6:15 and use the "your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit" to "prove" you shouldn't smoke, but that passage is clearly specifically referring to joining your body with a harlot. It doesn't say anything about eating greasy food, smoking, etc. I'm not recommending anyone to smoke, but let's just be Biblical here, okay?
