The Bible makes it plain that God kept the Sabbath--Gen 2:2 & 3, Heb 5:4. When accused of Sabbath breaking, God said, The Son of man is Lord of the Sabbath and that it was lawful to do good on the Sabbath. God kept the Sabbath as He had from the beginning--Mat 12:8, Mar 2:28, Luke 6:5 & Mar 3:4-6, Luke 6:9-11, 13:10-16. No Christian I know would say that God is a lawbreaker since love is the fulfilling of the law and this is the love of God to keep His commandments.
The Bible says that the seventh day is that day--Gen 2:2 & 3, Exo 16:22-30, Exo 20:11, Heb 5:4. Even those who do not keep the seventh day as the Sabbath tend to admit that the 7th day is the day spoken of as the Sabbath in scripture. |
